Hello, we have a mix of new and old Sonos devices I ended up setting up two parallell systems, S1 and S2, on our network. It works ok, with both S1 and S2 controllers on our Mac and iPhones. But on the Mac when starting or connecting to the network the S1 app it will find the S2 device first, refuse to connect and suggests upgrading. As a work around I power off the S2 device the S1 controller will connect to the S1 device and I can then start the S2 device again. On the iPhone this works as it should and connects to the correct device.Anyone else with this problems? Any suggestions or better work around?Ps I had a conversation with Sonos support without any resolution
I’m pretty sure this will get buried with all the other Youtube Music threads, but I could not find one that describes my situation. Now that Google Play Music is being decommissioned, I find myself with a prospect for a severely degraded experience.I have a Google Play Music / Youtube Music subscription (family plan, if that matters at all).I also have a Sonos Beam + 2x Ikea Symfonisk as surrounds.I want a very simple thing - to put a mix of music on my system, starting from a certain song. No offline playback, no personal library, no custom playlists.(As a bit of a background, I previously used a Google Home Mini speaker to which I could say “Hey Google, play X by Y” and it would play that song and continue a mix on Google Play Music - there was no Youtube Music back then) So how can I do that?In the Google Play Music App - search for song, hit the three dots → Start Radio. Then, click the “Cast” button and choose my Sonos setup This is the only way I found it to work satisfactory no
Hi I get this issue on and off every couple of weeks when my iPhone won't connect to my sonos system My iPad, iMac and fire tablet all work fine i have removed the sonos app on the iPhone and re installed and still not working. re booted iphone, disconnected the wifi etc after a few days it normally reconnects any ideas??
When I access Audible through SONOS, my most recently acquired book is missing from my library. It’s there in Audible’s app and website. All my other books are available in SONOS. Just not the one I’m currently listening to. I’ve tried:-- Letting the book play a bit in the Audible app, thinking maybe getting it to clear “In Progress” status might make it appear.-- Reauthorizing the Audible service-- Removing and re-adding the Audible serviceBut all to no avail. So frustrating!I see that someone asked this same question about a year ago, with one “me too” comment, but no other activity on that question (which is now closed to further comment, thus my new post here).Has anyone else encountered this problem, and is there a solution?
I just updated my Macbook Air to Big Sur but now can’t connect Sonos.I’ve got a playlist that uses files in the download folder but it says it can’t connect.Driving me slightly nuts!! Diagnostic reference 1444447949.
Anyone take the time to listen to some of the curated Sonos Presents channels? Likes? Dislikes? In general, except for The DP Songteller Radio, I have enjoyed them all in bits and pieces here in there. Enjoy a little bit of background and stories on why they picked the songs but not too much. A lot of music I hadn’t heard or normally wouldn’t listen to but enjoy none the less. I like the variety. Really enjoy the new D’Angelo & Third Man Records and the Brittany Howard was pretty good as well. Wish they would be longer as they start to recycle after a few hours. Right now Sound System is a tough listen to me as it is just way all over the board and I don’t have a schedule of what “show” or style of music is playing when. At least Apple Music 1 etc. has a schedule for you to see. My thoughts.
I’m sorry I know this question has been asked before but I’m looking for clarification as I’ve read conflicting accounts. Is the Sonos available on a Chromebook?
I am using Sonos app version 12.2.2 to manage my music. I have reduced the number of playlist and still get a message that I have too many playlist. I went through Sonos Imported playlist and found that Sonos is creating playlist named “Downloads”, “Library”, “Purchased” and “Podcast”. Any suggestions on how to delete these playlist and not have them reappear? Thank you
Can you send the sound from the IOS Zoom app on IPad to Sonos One?
Come on Sonos it’s 2021 some of us have wireless Beats 1 headphones some have Bose some have Sony etc let us have the option of listening to SONOS RADIO privately at home or on the move especially as your investing in Artists having shows on Soundsystem etc or consider releasing your own SONOS wireless Headphones Anyone from the Sonos Development Team wish to comment would be most welcomed
My app consistently gets an error when opening, sometimes connects and often then drops the connection once music is playing. It does this on theee different iPhones. I have reset the Play 1, Re booted the router, checked MAC addresses match on the router but it still happens. Is it just a completely useless app as this has been going on for a year and forums seem to all have the same issue?
Hi,It would be great if one could create a library of favorite albums from different sources (local NAS, streaming services) and access them in a structured manner. For example like the music library, via genre, artist etc. or at least via a self-created folder structure or tags. Regards, Robert
I strongly suggest to Sonos to add Dark Mode / Dark Theme to the S2 app for iOs.All my apps are dark and only Sonos S2 is irritating bright…..
I bought a sound bar to put under the television and 2 separate speakers. I was disappointed to see that at Sonos we completely mock environmental issues by relentlessly applying planned obsolescence. Since mid-2020 I no longer had all the functionality on my smartphone but I could still program music. Since the beginning of 2021 it is finished, By opening this application I receive an update message but I cannot do it. And if I try to install Sonos S2 I get the mention that this app cannot be installed because my software version is too old. It is unacceptable !!!
Hi All, I have two sonos ones (gen2) paired and now two fives paired in the same room. Firstly I presumed giving the fives the same room name "kitchen" as the two ones would automatically group them into one set so that anything I did in the room would be applied to all speakers ...i.e adjusting the volume on one speaker would do the same to all 4. Currently it only applies to that single pair. Within the app I have the two rooms grouped for volume and that all works ok. Within "System" the "Group" option is greyed out also. Should I be able to use the physical volume button on my sonos one to also effect the five. Pause/play/skip works across all speakers. I bet this is an option but need some help please!?
Can you please add a toggle on the app (android, apple) to switch to bluetooth? It's really frustrating I have to switch from wifi to bluetooth… I have to go over to the speaker and manually put it in bluetooth mode vs. just using the app and putting it into bluetooth mode or at least add the functionality on Google or Alexa assistant to voice command to turn on bluetooth for the Sonos Move (and other devices).ThanksP.S. can someone forward this to headquarters? Thanks in advance
I avoided updating my Mac to Catalina because of the issues with playlist and Sonos. Is it safe to move up to Big Sur? Our security software says to wait for at least two revisions to Big Sur as Apple is famous for correcting errors. What to do?
Hi all,I love my Sonos Play:1s but have always had a problem with the warmup time when accessing my music library. Cover art doesn’t appear, I usually get an error message stating the library can’t be found, and eventually when the computer with my library comes on line all is OK. the computer in question is an early 2008 iMac with a Core 2 Duo (3.06Ghz) chip in our basement a fair distance from the living room router. So I am in a wireless setup. I really want to fix this! no issues with Spotify, TuneIn, internet/streaming services. I’m trying to figure out where the bottleneck lies.. old processor on the iMac, poor wifi (though streaming works fine), something else..I’ve checked thst my iMac is not in sleep mode, and disabled the file sharing option. Would a NAS connected directly to the router and sharing my music library solve this problem?
Looking at this community as more than just a support/help/complaint place but an actual community of people like-minded and passionate in an enjoyment of music, home theater and everything Sonos. I thought it would be fun to see what music services people use and an idea of how often. Unfortunately, Sonos does not have a Vote button like some community rooms so we can do it the old fashioned way, here’s mine that my family uses:Paid Subscriptions: Apple Music: 20% (mostly teenagers), Sonos Radio HD: 30% (wife and I), Amazon Music: 10% (freebie part of Prime, teenagers using Alexa), Calm: <5% (was education worker freebie), Sirius XM: 30% (freebie included with lifelong Sirius subscription from a long time ago, wife and I).Unpaid Subscriptions: Music Library: 5% (mostly me), Pandora: <5%, Audible, Bandcamp, Libby, LiveXLive, SoundCloud, Spotify, Tunein.
I have a full Arc SL home theater up and working just fine (except for that little part about Atmos...), and the S2 app is running on my iOS devices just as fine. I installed the MacOS version of S2, and it doesn’t see the Arc. I get the following message:Not connectedYour Sonos product was not found. If your product is a long way from your router, you may need to try moving it closer. Please select “Try again.”For information about firewall configuration and other potential network problems, go to…” etc. None of that applies to this install. The Arc is working well, and its farther away from the router than my desktop iMac, which is about 20 feet away from the Arc. This same desktop had no trouble working with a prior Playbar, using the classic (pre “S1”) Sonos controller app. I’ve searched and read all the articles that might apply to this situation, and there’s no advice for this specific dialog box.
Does the Sonos 2 app allow for high resolution playback now, or does it just enable it for future use? my system is updated but a search will not show any Tidal Masters tracks.
Hi I updates app and sonos system (ARC and gen3 sub) to 12.2.2 today. After I went to check for updates via the app and it said app needs an update despite it all being up to date.I clicked on update and it opened the app store sonos S2 app, but no update is available as its already updated.Seems like a small bug, so just to make you aware.
How do you add your partner or another user to your sonos app. My wife would like to listen to her audible account. Help appreciated
One of our Nexus 9 tablets recently went into “eternal reboot” and we have had to do a factory reset/Android “recover from cloud” operation. Which was fine, except it doesn’t restore what was there, bur reinstalls the Apps from scratch. So, suddenly, we have SONOS S1 app appearing instead of the v10.3 of the app that was there originally. It is correct, as we only have the old S1 kit (9 older units), all at the same upgrade state as the V10.3 software.BUT:We also have six Nexus7 V2s as Sonos controllers distributed round the house. These had a final upgrade (August 2016) on Android 6.01, and could only run up to Sonos V10.3 (build 51166240). Yes, Sonos V10.3 eternally nags about “update available” and “upgrading our device” – which is not possible. So we have stayed at V10.3 as everything is still fine and we don’t want to buy 6 new tablets just for “upgrading” to Sonos S1, as the old ones work fine for all our other uses.Of course, running S1 on the recovered tablet just brings up a loa
Hello allIs there a way to have repeat all on all the time. Whenever I play an album I’m just used to it starting again but I seem to have to push repeat every time. Apple Music has repeat all on until you disable it just wondered if Sonos could do the same?thank you
