About two years ago I requested an option for the Android widget to support transparency. The option is available on all my other Android widgets and I would think a standard practice encouraged by Google. Because the SONOS widget does not support transparency, it sticks out like a sore thumb. This is an easy modification. Android provides the basic UI support functionality (second image below) - the OS may also handle the transparency logic too. All you need to do is enable it. I requested this again about 11 months ago. I bought a Port yesterday to allow my Turntable to play audio through my Sonos speakers.Prior to directly connecting the turntable, I brought up my old Denon receiver from 2003 in hopes of being able to connect that, and play FM/AM radio. (Mostly for Summer baseball games, we prefer the radio announcers over the TV ones)  But that receiver didn’t have a general RCA output to connect to the Ports input. It only had it via the Tape In/Out, but that only allows one device to be played.The stations app isn’t allowed to broadcast the games via stream, and I’m not going to pay for the MLB streaming app, since we only listen to our local team.But I also wouldn’t mind connecting my CD player, and old tape deck as well, so I have the option of playing all three media types through the port.So I’m curious who has a similar set up and which receiver they have to accomplish this.Much appreciated!

I want to use Google Assistant to play my local library, but it seems to be only able to start / stop music. Is there a way to ask Google to play a specific song from my library like it would from Deezer or another service ?

Why am I hearing commercials listening to Spotify premium on Sonos?

Since S2 became available and Sonos abandoned users of its legacy equipment (which still works perfectly) connecting to my system from my iPhone or Mac is now a nightmare. It can take up to 20 minutes of turning the phones WiFi on and off and closing and restarting the app before it will allow control of the system. It also happens to my wife, and her phone. Other times it works first time. This is frustrating in the extreme having spent thousands of pounds on speakers that are effectively useless when it won’t connect, often when you just want to quickly play something.  This is completely unacceptable, it all used to work perfectly. I have 3x Play 1, 1x Play 3, a Beam and a Gen 1 Play 5 which I am not willing to junk to be able to use the S2 app, nor trade in with an insult of a discount to upgrade it. Your Twitter team have ignored all support requests from me (as someone with over 30k followers and a blue tick) and I am aware

Is the Sonos Library limit still approx. 65k?I ask because I am running into the Can’t Update Music Library dialog saying“There is not enough room to update your music library. Please remove unused queues or saved playlists and try again.”Is there any easy way of double checking this to make sure e.g. a diagnostic.I suppose I will have to move towards PLEX. If so it is a pity I can’t trial it first before committing as it is a big outlay for a life subscription which I figure I will need.

I have a Beam connected to my TV. When I listen to music on YouTube I like to improve the quality of the sound by connecting the Beam to my Play 5s and sub. I turn down the volume on the lower quality Beam and listen through the other speakers. The strange thing is when doing that the Roku remote control stops working. I can still hear what’s playing but I can’t manipulate the YouTube experience or even turn off the TV. Any ideas why the use of the Play 5s and sub would disable the TV remote?

How do I add songs to a spotify playlist while using spotify radio on sonos?

Hi,Sorry if I sound very frustrated - I am!My iPhone works fine with the S2 App, but my MacBookPro (my preferred method to control my system) is an absolute PITA!I am running Big Sur 11.1I am also running Norton Security Premium.Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I have played around so many times with Firewall application blocking rules, I’ve lost the plot!Does somebody know how to set this up so that it works and keeps working once I restart the machine?It’s not just that it doesn't work, it hangs, so then you have to ‘force quit’, often a number of times. Then restart the machine, then play with the Firewall rules again etc etcEverything I find seems to be old and refers to Norton 360 and even if it just refers to Norton, it is not specifically to referring Sonos S2.Thank you in advance for any help you can offer …H

Hi, I have a huge collection of live music sitting on a standard hard drive (none of which is available to stream) and understand that I need a NAS drive to be able to play any of this through Sonos. unfortunately, that’s where my knowledge stops… could I please have some recommendations as to what to buy, makes and model numbers etc that are known to work. I’ve done a little research, but I’m more confused than when I started looking. I have a very basic knowledge of computing, but can usually get things working if I have the right equipment and software. Sorry if the question has been answered many times before, but there is lots on information online which is too complicated for me to grasp...

I have used ExpressVPN for years with no issues with my Sonos system & ability to connect form my Mac.After changing to NordVPN I cannot connect to Mac desktop controller. It is fine if I turn VPN off. As I never had this issue before, can anyone offer any advice. I live in the UK & use VPN for security, not for bypassing anything. Thanks

I have used four Play:1 in my home for three years using both iOS devices and the Windows app to control them.  No trouble with anything, even the first releases of the S2 app, until a few weeks ago …  The iOS app began to not always see my Play:1’s when initialized … usually closing and restarting the app solved the problem.  This was tested using both up-to-date iPhone iOS’s (14.3), iPad iOS’s AND outdated iOS 12.4 on an old iPad Mini 2. Next, the Spotify app started to not be able to see the Play:1’s (controlling them independently of the Sonos app).  NOTE: in all this time, my other multicast or network music devices (including Bluesound, Apple TV and Google Play) have had no connectivity issues whatsoever. This weekend, I decided to factory reset all four Play:1’s (green blinking light), ‘forget’ them on my network router, and delete/reinstall the Sonos S2 app on all devices, in an attempt to get things working properly ag

The Sonos iOS app supports multiple end user accounts for a single music service. In my case my spouse and I each have an Apple Music account (let’s call them A1 and A2) and the app can easily switch between A1 and A2. My problem (and I suspect this is a bug) is that the selection of A1 or A2 isn’t always sticky (and it should be!)I own two separate Sonos systems, in two different locations, which share a single household ID. When I move between locations, the account selection is *always* reset to A1, even if it was previously A2 in both locations. In other words, it’s sticky in the app until I switch locations.In practise, since the reset is often not noticed, this means that A1’s and A2’s recently played lists and preferences etc get mixed up by Apple Music, defeating much of the user personalization that Apple Music tries to provide.So, Sonos, is this a bug, a limitation, or WAD? (I’m running S2.)Thanks.   

Hi therei have a problem similar like others already asked.  I want to use the beam as a computer speaker. My setup is a monitor with hdmi in, displayport in and aux. I connect my laptop via hdmi cable to the monitor. I heard that i‘ts possible to play music over the beam with an audio converter. Well since we upgraded to the last sonos version we can’t play music from the device. That option is missing now. With my sonos play1 we can’t use airplay2 either so wht can we do now?

Hi,I have a Play:5 (Gen 1), Connect, Sub (Gen 1) and three Play:1s.  These are all set up as a S1 system.I recently purchased an Arc, which had to be set up as a separate S2 system because it is not compatible with S1 and the Play:5 is not compatible with S1.I am now stuck in an update loop with my S1 system which says an update is required.  However when I try to update I am taken to the S2 app in the Google Play store. When I initially tried this the update failed and I got a number of error messages (30 & 1101).  I tried resetting the router, turning products on and off etc as suggested in the help article, but this failed so I performed factory resets on the Sub and all Play:1s. However when I tried to add them back to my S1 system I was unable to do so because “Sonos app needs updating”, although there isn't an S1 update to choose.Please help me get my system back - I can currently only use the Play:5 and the Arc.Thanks

I was a subscriber of Apple Music and Sonos was working fine with it.However I realised I mostly used  the cloud matching feature and hence recently "downgraded" to  iTunes Match which provides that service only. Sadly I can't seem to be able to stream my Cloud music on Sonos any longer.Has anybody got a workaround to suggest?Catalina OSSonos V1

After almost a year long rigmarole, I finally got all my itunes playlists to sync with SONOS… enter Big Sur to spoil the party. Keep Catalina until this new mess is sorted…. if you want to keep the party going.

Hello, I have one of the original sonos systems (the one they initally said they were going to abandon, but still works great!).It is wired into my hifi system (a Naim amp) and I listen through a decent pair of B&W speakers. I use spotify and am happy, but was thinking of upgrading to QoBuz because it streams at a higher bit rate (FLAC). Will my sonos system process this or will I have to upgrade my sonos products to take advantage of the better sound quality of Qobuz? Thank you

We have recently changed from Google Play Music to YouTube music and have noticed a bug in the Sonos integration where it does not allow us to see more than 99 playlists on our Sonos controller whereas the YouTube music account is connected to has 240 playlists.   I believe this to be a bug in the YouTube music integration on the Sonos controller or maybe a limitation, can someone please look into this and confirm.

Out of no where my sons iOS Sonos s1 app stopped working. I Uninstalled the app and reinstalled, still can not find it on the wifi network. All other apps on iOS and Android is still working.I'm choosing connect to existing system, then I keep pressing "I can't find the the button" until I have one that work with one of my Sonos devices. Tried both the first wired device and one Un-wired. But it still don't find the Sonos system!?
