MacOS Crashes when Sonos set to system sound output device.

I have seen this occur with repeatability under MacOS.  Both Catalina and Big Sur versions.  I set the Sonos device as my default sound output device.  As shown below, ManCave and SonosBeam are Sonos devices.  Within a couple minutes the wired ethernet stops working on my Mac and then eventually a kernel panic.  I am able to control spotify music on the Sonos using the MacOS Sonos S2 App with no problem.  All Sonos devices are wired with ethernet.  I see this behavior when selecting both One and Beam products.  Below is crash report from MacOS.  Thanks

Hi @dozer1dave.

Welcome to the Sonos community and thanks for bringing this to our attention. Allow me to share with you my recommendation to help out.

Based on the provided situation, I would recommend contacting our technical support team for more in-depth troubleshooting steps. It is best to contact our technical support team so they can take a look into what is the root cause of the issue. I would also like to suggest submitting a diagnostic after 3-5 minutes after the issue re-occurred so we can also check what is going on.

I would also like to ask if we can be familiar with the information below to help our technical support team be familiar with your network layout so we can also check our internal resources if we have any known issues and workaround with your network hardware.

  1. Router make and model.
  2. Modem make and model.
  3. Wifi booster or extender make and model.
  4. Mesh system make and model.
  5. Secondary or tertiary router make and model.
  6. Other devices wired to the router.
  7. Network switch or hub make and model.
  8. Other devices wirelessly connected to the router.

The more information you provide, the more we can better understand what is going on to help you out.

Please let us know if you still have further questions or concerns. Here in the community, everybody can help you out.

Thanks,
