Sonos is the ONLY app that I cannot control from outside my home wifi. I all I want to do is deactivate a couple of alarms that I forgot to do before I left on vacation. I can access my door locks and alarm but not even change a alarm away from home.
Are we getting the possibility of generating new and editing existing playlists soon?I understand that it has been a priority to make the app work for people that have been hit really hard on the functionality, but really... it's been 9 month. Are Android users getting the widget functionality back also?RegardsNiels
I’m wonderingWhen I arrive home, and I am listening to Apple Music or Audacy on my phone, through my headphones or car speakers: is there a simple way to shift the music to the whole house? right now, I have to open AirPlay, select one speaker, then open S2 ad scroll down to the actively playing speaker, then open the speaker list and select play-all or whole house. thats a lot of steps, for what seems to me as a common task. also whenever playing a single speaker it’s never the one on the top of the S2 speaker list, the top is always the last inactive group session which is useless since nothing is playing there. thanks
So what exactly was the performance upgrade? In this update:This release will be gradually rolled out to users over several days. Customers can check for updates in their iOS / Android app store and download the latest version of the Sonos app once it's available to them.Reliability and performance updates Requires latest system update - 82.3-60160
I was annoyed that we now have to reauthorize our accounts all the time, but now when I request the reauthorize to take place I get “account not found”. This is on the heels of not using the speakers for months while the last update was figured out. can I suggest you use a sandbox environment for testing before going live with these features nobody is asking for? Also, remove the reauthorize requirement. Thanks!
Can the Sonos App be used to control the Sonos Ray from multiple mobile devices? Thank you.
Hi all,Is there any news about this limitation removed ? After all, it's 2025 and having a playlist of over 100 songs shouldn't be a problem…(No matter whether some people think it's a good idea or not to have very large playlists)Can we expect this limit to be lifted?I bought my SONOS equipment without knowing about this. And if I had known about it, I think I would have turned to another brand. Thanks
Hi, The new Sonos app (for Mac and iPhone, with Sonos One speakers, as of 1/22/2025) is an improvement from last summer, but… We frequently can not get any music to play out of our 3 speaker pairs without unplugging and plugging in the speakers. With 6 speakers and several outlets behind furniture, this is HORRIBLE! When we do get music playing from a pair of speakers, we can’t add other speaker pairs… unless we start the music from the correct pair (living room or family room). If we start the music on the dining room pair, we can never connect to the other speakers. We had a single speaker upstairs, but occasionally the music would shift to that speaker and then we could not pause/stop the music. We finally powered off this speaker and this system works better. We have many friends with Sonos in their home and all have had rough experiences. I used to recommend Sonos, but no longer do. I’d like to add a couple more pairs of speakers but don’t dare given all the issues. #sadsonosu
Just downgraded my Play 1s and Sonos One to S1 from S2. Now I can use the S1 app - sooooo much better. Direct and responsive control and frankly it’s simpler to use than the new app. Not sure if the new app controls kit via the cloud but it is still slow and unresponsive and a little glitchy when it comes to turning speakers on and off. I’ve seen beta testing extends to users further away from AWS DCs - why is it so important to go via the cloud? I don’t like the online dependency this brings to use the kit….ive left my Arc and Beam on S2. This is fine because they are controlled by the to remote. I’d thoroughly recommend the downgrade if you can. Sonos have made the process pretty easy - thank you.
My wife and friends ask me if I am crazy. I just bought additional Sonos speakers. Guys let us face reality. You had over seven months to improve the apps and the S2 system. It is still very slow, unstable and unreliable. examples. volume controls not respondingcannot select all speakerstime to access the app and the music is unacceptablepossible solutions assuming a roll back is totally out of the question please redesign the backend and app from scratch separately (there are also major UX flaws that are so painful I did not mention) hope for the best and you do not go bust in the coming year or two cheers .
HelloI received an e-mail from Sonos today about Apple Music lossless support. It says:“Simply stream from Apple Music to a supported Sonos product. Over 100 million songs are available in lossless audio, with resolutions ranging from 16-bit/44.1 kHz (CD quality) up to 24-bit/192 kHz (hi-res)”Does this mean that Sonos has increased its support to 24/192, with Apple Music?Previously, it was limited to 24/48…Thank you
I have the Sonos app on Windows 10 and 11 systems, and also on an iPad mini. I have added items to the queue via my Windows system, and the first one is playing now. So it works. But when I try to display the queue on the iPad, the window shows “Queue is empty.” Even though it isn’t. This does not change over time; well, several minutes anyway. Is there a way to make the queue appear on the iPad? All apps are S2; and the latest version, as far as I know.
When is Sonos going to add Stage+ to services?
My pixel 7a is still on the December update I have updated my older Samsung tablet to the January update would any one be aware of any difficulties updating on a android 15 device as the update has been available since the 13th of January.
I have albums where 2 or more tracks segue into each other. In iTunes they are separate songs but when Sonos imports them it imports as separate songs but also, separately, as groups. When played back I get the same songs twice. I can’t see how to stop Sonos doing this nor can I see how to just delete the rogue groups.
Sonos Build 80.14.06-release-20241206.affe3deWhen selecting the system the alarm should play on, a user should be able to select a group. This is distinct from selecting a single room with “Include Grouped Rooms”.
OMG ONCE AGAIN SONOS UPDATE CAUSES WASTED TIME AND DOESNT WORK, DO NOT USE.
This has happened multiple times with the app. Watching on apple tv - Netflix or whichever app will randomly say ‘no content’ and I cannot control the volume through the app. It is a major pain. My Bluetooth is on and wifi is fine.
Couldn't find any package by regex 'unoffical-sonos-controller-for-linux-master.zip'I’m getting this error when trying to install on Mint
Until a month ago or so, the iPhone remote app worked wonders. I could both control the Apple TV and adjust the volume, with the side-buttons on the phone. The Apple TV 4K-remote still controls the volume just fine, but the iPhone app no longer works.I seem to find a ton of threads with the same problem - or at least sort of. It seems that the Apple TV-remote (not the app) is the main problem. Just not for me. It’s the iPhone Remote-app.And yes, I’ve tried restarting the Apple TV-remote (holding volume-down and control button for 5 seconds and waiting for restart)...
Background: I have a Sonos One speaker set up in my toddler’s room to play white noise throughout the night. I found a playlist on Spotify that has worked perfectly for the past two years, and I play the playlist through the Sonos app. but suddenly beginning last month I’ve had a recurring issue.Problem: Sometime in the middle of the night (after 6ish hours) the Sonos speaker will stop playing the white noise playlist, and start playing whatever song I last listened to on Spotify. Let’s say that, in the middle of the day away from home, while driving, I used Spotify on my phone to play some songs in my car. Later at night after I start the white noise through the Sonos app it makes it through 5-6 hours, but then suddenly stops playing the white noise and switches to whatever the last song I listened to when I was driving around. Understandibly this wakes up my kid, so I run into the room with my phone and open the sonos app. I try to connect to the One speaker to start the white noise
After working fine suddenly I can’t load the S2 Controller due to the “Unable to load pcdcr.dll” error.Running Windows 11 on an MS Surface Pro so ARM 64 processor.Have uninistalled (and deleted any remaining Sonos inc folders as advised in previous solutions) but it won’t work.Does anyone have any ideas?
Hi! Recenlty I came across an issue where Spotify Connect would only work with my Amazon Alexa Sonos speaker, and no other Sonos speaker. I figured out how to get it to work, so I am now sharing it with the rest of you:The symptoms are: If you try to use Spotify to play to any other Speaker than an Amazon Alexa speaker via Spotify Connect it will see the speakers and the try to connect, eventually stopping with a time out error. With the Amazon Alexa speaker it will play perfectly fine. Potential root cause: The Spotify’s magic. i.e., the certificate which is supposed to be replicated across all Sonos speakers is incorrect. The Amazon Alexa certificate is probably being offered for Spotify, which is incorrect *except* when it comes to the Amazon Alexa enabled speaker. Solution:Remove the Sonos Skill from Amazon Alexa. See: Turn Alexa skills on or off Open the Spotify app, play music and connect to a Sonos speaker via Spotify Connect that you couldn’t play to previously. Confirm you can
Sonos f***ed-up my S1 system. I do not have any post-2020 speakers, just old ones, circa 2016. Overnight (via automatic update?), all of my old Play 1’s (six in total) that were powered on at the time disappeared from the S1 controller. I tried to add them back: no dice. Then I factory reset them and was told that they were no longer s1 compatible and had to install s2 controller and “downgrade” them back to s1. WTF?! So far the downgrade has NOT worked and I’ve been in an endless loop of frustration. I’m a scientist and fairly digital savvy, but not a high-end IT dude. This is effing ridiculous, and SONOS needs to get its programming act together so average users can readily fix this SONOS f***up.And . . . WHY have you shut down all the threads with people posting about this issue? It looks like you’re trying to sweep it under the rug, which is not a good look.PLEASE FIX THIS SO YOUR CUSTOMERS CAN USE YOUR FRIGGIN’ PRODUCTS.
What’s the latest on any support (official or otherwise) for playback of music mixed in 5.1 via .m4a files?I have tried copying some of the content to my Sonos library and then tried a library update, but it still doesn’t show up.Am I out of luck?
