What new product will replace the connect amp?
Will the ECB work on my Sonos connect?
I have my Port connected to a Synchro-Mesh via the digital out, and the Synchro-Mesh via toslink to my AMBEO soundbar. The question is this - it seems that virtually any other soundbar does not have an optical input any longer; if I wanted to go to a different soundbar in the future, would it be possible to use an HDMI to toslink converter, but using it instead to convert the optical output to HDMI?
I am currently designing two spaces -- outdoor pool and patio + my primary ensuite. Patio:I’m planning to use an sonos AMP with 4 Polk Atrium 5 Outdoor Speakers. I’d like to have an outdoor volume control. Is this possible? Is so, thoughts on how to do this? Primary Bathroom: We have a large L shaped bathroom. I’m planning to have one dual channel Polk RC6 in the large walk in shower and another single dual channel polk RC 6 above the vanity. I’d like to potentially connect these to a single AMP but have in-wall independent volume control for each speaker--allowing me to listen to music/morning news in the shower and not wake my partner in bed. :) Thoughts on how to best accomplish this without buying an AMP for each single speaker? Thanks!
I upgraded my internet connection to fibre to the property some months ago & the utility box & router are now located in the bedroom (centre of the house). I was online yesterday with Sonos Support & the only way to have the Sonos Connect work now was hard wired into the router. I have a stereo system in the living room consisting of a Marantz amp & Richter speakers + turntable where my Sonos Connect Gen2 used to plug straight into the amp. I have the Sonos controller on both my android phone & laptop. Sonos Support mentioned Line-In to connect. Can I & if so how do I play music to my amp & speakers in my living room using my Sonos Connect?
I spent a day helping a friend wire 8 amps to a unmanaged switch and back to the router. After all was wired up, we couldn’t get the system to be recognizzed or work. So here are the details of the system. The provider’s router is in the bedroom at one end of the house. There is a Google mesh router plug in to the provider router with 2 other googe mesh units around the house. My friend also added a Sonos boost next to the router and google mesh in the bedroom. The boost was plugged into the Google mesh.At the other end of the house, the existing system had 4 Amps connected. All amps reside in a closet at this end of the house. We have 4 more Amps that had not been connected and I added 2 more while wiring the system that day. He also has some older Play 5’s and other stand alone speakers that he moves around from time to time, though these are not a priority since we have put speakers throughout the house now.I ran an ethernet cable from the amp closet back to the bedroom. In the clos
Hello everyone,Since I couldn't resolve the issue described in this post, I've decided to explore the option of acquiring a SACD CD player. These players can be quite expensive, so before making an investment, I'd like to know if any of you have experience with them.I'm considering this player DENON DCD-1700NE.Would it be better to connect this player to my SONOS system using an AMP or a PORT?One notable feature of this player is its ability to reproduce SACD multichannel, but I am not sure if the ARC is able to reproduce it.Has anyone had experience with this setup? Thanks and RegardsAngelo
Let's talk about how much Sonos sucks
I bought new AMP and it started to connect to Sonos App, during this process it update the software, since then I am trying to connect in many ways (connecting to Ethernet cable, factory reset, etc…) but without success. Can anyone help ideas how to solve this? Thanks Barry
My app and system are acting horribly since that last disastrous upgrade. I just need to vent. When will this get corrected?
The new sonos app is a junk. We all should stop using the product for REALTest your product well before pushing in production. It is not working, roll it back.Playlists are gone, cant save playlists, the list goes on and on. FIX IT
I’ve been using the Sonos Port with AirPlay for months without any issues. Within the last week or so it will work for about 10 min or so and get disconnected, usually when going to the next track (using the built in Music app). After the 10 min of disconnecting if I try to connect to it again it appears to connect but doesn’t work. All other Sonos features still work, just AirPlay seems to be messed up.The only way to get it working again is to unplug it and plug it back in. Then it will work for another 10 min or so.Any ideas?
Why does my Sonos port list as line in disconnected this has only happened since the app update it worked fine before. I checked on the community and there are people with a similar issue but my issue seems to linked to the app update as the issue didn’t exist before. CP85
Hi. When setting up a new Sonos Port to an existing system it doesn’t want to link to my account. Have tried the Fix It option a number of times but it still fails at the point where the app attempts to link up to my account. Any ideas how to fix this please. Thanks
Been trying to add sonos ports to a new system, I keep getting the same message “Your sonos port couldnt be set up. Unplug power cord” .Sonos AMPS go in fine. very bizarre, anybody else seen this?ive deleted the app reinstalled, logged back out and back in….this is crazy Guess Ill reply to my own post..After being on the phone with sonos help for hours, they discovered that there is a glitchwith components that have a older S2 firmware on them . The glitch does NOT let you add the sonos device to your system. great job Moderator edit: Combined posts
We have an existing sound system that includes an amp and a mixer with TS Connectors and XLR Connectors. Can I connect the Sonos Port sthe amp so we can control the sound coming from the speakers? Specifically we want to stream music from phones or apps. Thanks!
I have just unwrapped a new Sonos Port and tried to downgrade it from S2 to S1 in order to incorporate it into my system which contains some devices which can’t be upgraded from S1.I can’t see the downgrade option in the Sonos app and the Sonos website indicates that v80 of the app does not support downgrading. Are there any other options that I can take to downgrade the Port or should I send it back and get a refund?
I have an old Sonos Connect showing up in https://www.sonos.com/en-us/myaccount/system/households/devices and cannot find a way to remove it on my own. It does not show up in my Sonos mobile app (iOS).
saavn app not showing playlist in sonos amp
I have a Sonos amp with speakers from two rooms hardwired into it. It’s been working great until recently. Now music only plays in one room, and I can’t figure out why or how to fix it. I’ve tried turning system completely off and also rebooting WiFi router and then the Sonos amp. This hasn’t worked. Any ideas? The amp shows up in my app, but I don’t see anywhere to select rooms or speakers. Can someone help me?
I moved 6 months ago. Had a big sonos system in the house and yard. All old stuff, S1 based. I sold almost all of it with the house. But I ended up with 1 ZP120! So now I’m trying to set it up for my daughter to use in her house. Downloaded S1 app. App couldn’t find ZP120. Did a factory reset on the ZP120. Looked like that reset worked. Tried again to add the ZP120 to S1, still can’t find it. Tried power resets with no luck. Any help is appreciated? Seems simple, just the 1 ZP120 and my iPhone12 running S1. But no luck. How does the app actually “find” the ZP since the ZP can’t connect to the wifi yet. I assume some sort of short-range comms? Whatever it is, it’s not working. Thanks in advance!
I own a residential systems integration firm and have been selling and installing Sonos as our main distributed audio product for the past 12 years. My field techs are no longer table to activate new product in less than 45 minutes per device, involving 4 to 6 resets. Tech support is abysmal, rarely are they able to diagnose our fix any of the issues we are currently encountering. We have several large projects coming up with Sonos product, if Sonos’ doesn’t get this fixed we will explore alternatives for future installations.Additionally, we are fielding a multitude of service calls from existing clients having similar issues.
I’m getting some dropouts which I’d like to start chasing down, but before I do that, I’d like to get back up to speed on how Sonos should work… I thought, and it seems wrongly, that SonosNet was only used if you didn’t connect your Sonos devices to your main WiFi… Does the Mode: INFRA (sonosnet) mean it’s using it?
My AMP is trying to update (I think - the white light is blinking) but never finishes. Then I must unplug the power and plug it in again after a while, then it sometimes work again. But the whole show starts again after a few days. What can I do?
