Hello, my Sonos system, purchased in 2017 and comprising a play 3 and two play 1s, needs to be reset and router likewise each and every time I want to listen to music. This is unbelievably frustrating - I have heard charges of so called ‘planned obsolescence’ levelled against Sonos.I hope this is not the case, I would like an explanation however thanks
Hello people, Since I moved and plugged my play bar into my Samsung smarttv , it makes a Screeching noise as soon as I power oN. It is not related to the optical , because even if I removed it, the noise persists. (Sorry for my English) I hope someone can help me. Thanks 🙏
error 1101.3 out of my 4 songs products wont update giving. error code 1101i have re set router. deleted and reinstalled app still the same.anyone any ideas.
I have recently upgraded my iMac and it came with Big Sur 11.2.3. When opening my Sonos desktop app and trying to connect to our system i get the following. The nearest speaker is about 8 feet away. The firewall is offI have trieduninstalling and reinstalling the app turning the computer off/on resetting the router - when i did this is recognised the system but when i quit the app and re-opened it was back to the message aboveThe system works fine on my iPhone, my partners iMac (Catalina) and other bits if kit...so it seems a Big Sur problem. Any suggestions? Thanks
I use the Sonos App on my iPad with the device Connect that is connected to my router and to my HiFi amplifier. The Connect device disconnects after a few minutes. I can sometimes reactivate it through my Sonos App, and I hear music again. But after two or three tries, the Sonos App can no longer find the Connect device. The problem appeared about a month ago (in March 2021). Before, for more than a year, there was no problem. Any suggestions what the problem is? And how to solve it?
My S1 app no longer works (after 4 years of working fine) as of a couple of days ago. A message automatically comes up saying “you can control all your products using the S2 app.” When I open the S2 app, the message states “this product is not compatible with S2 app.” Add this product to an existing S1 system. BUT the S1 system will NOT work and tells me to log into S2. This would b funny if it was not so frustrating. None of my devices are working. None. Advice???
I was wondering what the best practice for rebooting Mesh Routers. I have a lot of devices with reserved IP addresses and every time I am making a change I have to reboot the router. As a result all the Sonos devices that were attached to the main router are now picking up one of the satellites. The only way I have found to get the devices back to where they belong is to power cycle all my Sonos units. Any ideas to avoid this?
My Sonos One device is working properly in my Cisco wired and wireless infrastructure. I try to change it with Sonos S2, I can not find Sonos S2 on my mobile. (I use S2 app on my mobile.) Is there any differences between Sonos One and S2 needs for Cisco infrastructure?
Hi I am running 2 Zp90s along with 2 CR100s and a Play 5 Gen1. Having recently moved the ZP90s, one of them stopped playing out through the RCA plugs and no longer shows up if I connect a line in.Probably not worth trying to get a fix but if I can source a replacement from ebay etc is it possible to connect this into the system without loosing my CR100 functionality as there is no optoin on these controllers now to add a new player. Many thanks in advance.
My father owns 2 Play 5 speakers. I recently had a close look at one of them and noticed that static noise was coming from the right tweeter whilst the other was working perfectly fine (the white noise continues even without music). I then decided to look at the second play 5 too and noticed that both tweeters on the second play 5 were just not functioning properly. They both sounded very quite and made a consistent very very silent low frequency ticking noise. I am quite experienced with electronics but not with a speaker system. I can replace the parts but I first need to know which are broken. Can anyone help with identifying this?Thank you for the help and hope to hear from you guys soon.
Hi there, just recently Sonos S2 on my iPad loses connection to the speakers and is unable to reconnect. I have tried all the things suggested -reboot router, turn off /on speakers, reinstalled S2 app. Sometimes it does then find them but will only work for a short while, and when I go back into the app, no they’re not there again! Works ok on my android phone and wife’s iPhone briefly, then that stopped working as well. I have not done anything to the router or changed any network settings. It was working ok about a week ago, although it had started to occasionally drop out a few weeks before that. iPad version 12.5.2. Seems to be apple products? When I first had Sonos it was really stable but now issues seem to be more prevalent. So, any ideas greatly received, as this is getting really frustrating and I’m on the verge of ditching the whole lot for something that does work!
Hi - I have a Connect from which I run (via an external pre-amp) a Rega Planar 1 turntable (linking in to a Playbar and 2 Play 1’s) using the S1 operating system. After unplugging the turntable, pre-amp and Connect for some furniture moving last night and then reconnecting it all the turntable is now ‘disconnected’ and all options for it are ‘greyed out’. The Connect is still visible in the app, so seemingly working fine.I’ve tried switching off all Sonos items and resetting the wifi.I’ve checked all the connections and even tried a different RCA cable. The only ‘success’ has been when I’ve unplugged the pre-amp and then plugged it back in. I get a second or two of music / connection, it flashes up on the app as ‘connected’ and then disappears again.Any thoughts or advice would be gratefully received
Hi All,For about a year I’ve had two Sonos systems set up in the house on two Wi-FI networks. I’ve did this by setting up a separate guest network on the router with separate SSID and password. The reason being that I have two kids who have their own Spotify accounts and I could not get it to work with voice control without two networks.Up until last week, whenever I’ve switched wireless networks on my phone I can simply connect to the relevant speaker which I do from time to time to set sleep timers or find a song they can’t get via voice control. However, for about a week I’ve not been able to and I could not get one device to appear at all. Voice control still worked fine.I’ve just gone through a whole reset on the problem network device, unlinked everything, changed the SSID and password on the guest network and set up from scratch. However, when I changed networks I get the error message that there is no system found.I’m so confused as it has been working well for such a long tim
Hi,We have two play:1 speakers which we have had for years with no issues and a beam for two years. We have had no issues using these, but since the last ios update every time I open sonos it says that it cannot find the speakers. My husband is having the same issues after the last update on his andriod phone. We found another article about turning on/off the private network in wifi, this solves it for the day but next day and the same issue is back. I have tried it with the setting turned on and off but only resetting the whole system now lets me see the speakers? If anyone has anything I can try it would be much appreciated (just a warning that I’m not massively tech savvy!)Thanks in advance.
I’ve had been stuck with a sonos system for 4 years and have had nothing but trouble - i wouldn't give them a fiver for it. Even though I’ve learned to turn the updates off (due to too many issues to name) i can still tell they’re tampering in the background. The latest being, all the grouped speakers have been lost and the (group) function will no longer work to reinstate groupings - I can play to one speaker but not several. On closer inspection i note that they now have an S2 version. Even though my S1 version was clunky it was adequate, but now the above feature doesn't work at all. I would love to be able to rid myself of the IT +#@*! in the background and actually be able to use the speakers i paid for. Any advice on finding freedom?
Hello, when I use the spotify application to listen to music from my iphone, I try to turn the volume up or down but it doesn't work .. I see the green volume bar go up and down but the sound always stays at the same intensity ... I am not the only one with this problem, a friend also has the same problem! someone to solve this problem? thank you so much! I use the Sonos Play 1 ...
Having already seen a post with the same name - totally stolen - i am having the same issue. Set everything up and i have regular disconnections from the app and i cant then control anything. The only remedy is to plug in my Sonos One via ethernet and wait a few seconds where the app then recognises the remaining Playbar and 2x Play:3….. super infuriating.Had a previous Wifi Router from Vodafone bundled with the broadband package with no issues ever. Just moved house and had to purchase a new router - up steps the Netgear R6120 (AC1200), Firmware v 1.0.0.76 (the latest i can find)does anyone else suffer the same symptoms and have regular requirements to connect via cable to reestablish the connectionNot; no devices will connect without the cable even though it can detect them???? puzzling right….Thanks i advance
Hello,As i stated before, after adding some music to the sonos playlist from my cloud home, after a while sonos stop playing and shows the message that have lost the connection to My Cloud Home. After that error i check and the disk is available and i can acess the files on explorer or my cloud app. What could it be?
Greetings! My system includes:1 x Connect (ZP90) (connected to LAN via ethernet)2 x Connect:Amp (ZP120) All running S1 with the latest firmware and software. Some time ago I start observing the following behaviour. If I start playback on Connect it plays fine. Once I group Connect with a single or both Connect:Amps then Connect stops playing. If I ungroup Connect, then it continues normal playback. Anyway Connect:Amps play correctly if grouped. The issue first appeared back in 2012 and then Sonos technical support suggested to go :1400/advconfig.htm and set FirstZP to Enabled and :1400/reboot. Currently the trick doesn’t do its job. Any other ideas on how to overcome the issue? Thank you.
Hi there, I have two play ones and a beam, all run wirelessly. App has stopped working, surrounds and beam still working, but had to turn off surrounds last night as the app not responding so I couldn’t turn bass down etc…….;((…….have done the usual, power off to speakers and beam, disconnected router, got it all working and this morning app won’t load again…...Spotify can’t find the lounge option to play music ……..aaaaaaaaaaghhhhhhhh any ideas …...thanks for reading …...🤬🤬🤬 kevin…....
Well after 18mths of “reasonable” success with BBC radio via Alexa and BBC Sounds skill, all has now ended! Was my success out of the norm as I see the BBC and Sonos don't appear to be talking, and no matter what I try Alexa tells me despondently to try again in a little while!Tech should not be this problematic and I’m not pleased that the BBC keep telling me to listen to everything on the Sounds App. Email to the BBC next?
It doesn’t automatically update in the background and continue to work flawlessly like every other electronic device I own. Instead it updated through WiFi, then it loses the WiFi signal it just used to update and makes you plug a speaker in to the router in order to reestablish a WiFi connection?!??! How does that make any sense? I’m always trouble shooting this dinosaur of a system. It’s literally the most frustrating piece of technology in my house, actually in my life. EVERYTHING works better than Sonos. And EVERYONE I know hates it. Grrrrr. Back to listening to music through Bluetooth for now because I don’t want to troubleshoot this stupid Sonos system AGAIN.
I do not use voice activation for anything in my home. But I do have a couple Sonos one with built in voice control. I have never attempted to use it, but today, without opening an app on any of my devices, i pushed the play button on a One and it began to play an amazing playlist quite compatible withy my emerging tastes. I have no apps open on any device and in fact powered down all of my devices just to see the effect. No effect. The One continues to play without interruption. What is the input directing the One to play?
This is strange!?I have a HomeKit home and Apple Music. The symfonisk are visible in home app. If I make a shortcut to play music directly to my symfonisk speaker and run it, then Apple TV hijacks that and stream to my speakers. If I then wants to watch a show on my tv, then the music pause, and plays the sound through my speakers. I can not watch a show with audio on the tv speakers and play music on the same time on the symfonisk. They are not in the same room !???If I play directly to the speakers from Sonos app, then I can watch a show on Apple TV at the same time.
