Hello, when I use the spotify application to listen to music from my iphone, I try to turn the volume up or down but it doesn't work .. I see the green volume bar go up and down but the sound always stays at the same intensity ... I am not the only one with this problem, a friend also has the same problem! someone to solve this problem? thank you so much! I use the Sonos Play 1 ...
Having already seen a post with the same name - totally stolen - i am having the same issue. Set everything up and i have regular disconnections from the app and i cant then control anything. The only remedy is to plug in my Sonos One via ethernet and wait a few seconds where the app then recognises the remaining Playbar and 2x Play:3….. super infuriating.Had a previous Wifi Router from Vodafone bundled with the broadband package with no issues ever. Just moved house and had to purchase a new router - up steps the Netgear R6120 (AC1200), Firmware v 1.0.0.76 (the latest i can find)does anyone else suffer the same symptoms and have regular requirements to connect via cable to reestablish the connectionNot; no devices will connect without the cable even though it can detect them???? puzzling right….Thanks i advance
Hello,As i stated before, after adding some music to the sonos playlist from my cloud home, after a while sonos stop playing and shows the message that have lost the connection to My Cloud Home. After that error i check and the disk is available and i can acess the files on explorer or my cloud app. What could it be?
Greetings! My system includes:1 x Connect (ZP90) (connected to LAN via ethernet)2 x Connect:Amp (ZP120) All running S1 with the latest firmware and software. Some time ago I start observing the following behaviour. If I start playback on Connect it plays fine. Once I group Connect with a single or both Connect:Amps then Connect stops playing. If I ungroup Connect, then it continues normal playback. Anyway Connect:Amps play correctly if grouped. The issue first appeared back in 2012 and then Sonos technical support suggested to go :1400/advconfig.htm and set FirstZP to Enabled and :1400/reboot. Currently the trick doesn’t do its job. Any other ideas on how to overcome the issue? Thank you.

Well after 18mths of “reasonable” success with BBC radio via Alexa and BBC Sounds skill, all has now ended! Was my success out of the norm as I see the BBC and Sonos don't appear to be talking, and no matter what I try Alexa tells me despondently to try again in a little while!Tech should not be this problematic and I’m not pleased that the BBC keep telling me to listen to everything on the Sounds App. Email to the BBC next?
It doesn’t automatically update in the background and continue to work flawlessly like every other electronic device I own. Instead it updated through WiFi, then it loses the WiFi signal it just used to update and makes you plug a speaker in to the router in order to reestablish a WiFi connection?!??! How does that make any sense? I’m always trouble shooting this dinosaur of a system. It’s literally the most frustrating piece of technology in my house, actually in my life. EVERYTHING works better than Sonos. And EVERYONE I know hates it. Grrrrr. Back to listening to music through Bluetooth for now because I don’t want to troubleshoot this stupid Sonos system AGAIN.
I do not use voice activation for anything in my home. But I do have a couple Sonos one with built in voice control. I have never attempted to use it, but today, without opening an app on any of my devices, i pushed the play button on a One and it began to play an amazing playlist quite compatible withy my emerging tastes. I have no apps open on any device and in fact powered down all of my devices just to see the effect. No effect. The One continues to play without interruption. What is the input directing the One to play?
This is strange!?I have a HomeKit home and Apple Music. The symfonisk are visible in home app. If I make a shortcut to play music directly to my symfonisk speaker and run it, then Apple TV hijacks that and stream to my speakers. If I then wants to watch a show on my tv, then the music pause, and plays the sound through my speakers. I can not watch a show with audio on the tv speakers and play music on the same time on the symfonisk. They are not in the same room !???If I play directly to the speakers from Sonos app, then I can watch a show on Apple TV at the same time.
Still having issues with my play 5 gen 1 music stops for a few seconds sometimes longer then plays again, only through Spotify though. Tried everything even had a new router still same reauthorised Spotify account from last community contact still same. Been like it ever since sonos decided to change their software and make older products discontinued. Any other advice would be brill. thanks in advance
Same problems everyone else seems to have.... set it up, worked for a few minutes... popped an error. Will not work with Xfinity now.... tried reading all the suggestions here, just made me more upset that my gear I paid good money for will not work now.
Hi, my app updated the other day, since then i can very rarely connect to the sonos. The only ways to get it working is an ethernet cable or reboot the router. Once the router reboots i can see the system in the app for a few minutes until it looses it again. The sonos will continue to play whatever was loaded up but it wont let me connect from the app. I sat for half an hour with the sonos rep on the live chat the other day fiddling with the routers internet settings and while it worked when he was on the phone, it lost it a few minutes later. This is really annoying. The system has never had any issues, iv been using it for 4years now. The last few days have been difficult with no music. Please help
Hi, I do own a Sonos play 5 2gen and a sonos five. I would like to create a stereo pair, but it doesn’t seems to work in the appAre these 2 speakers not able to be in stereo mode together ? Why is that ? Thank youTrize
Running SONOS on MacBook. Playing Spotify via Connect:AMP, quite frequently when trying to do routine things such as pause, next track etc…“Unable to Connect”- then a minute or two later, works again, and then stops working - this pattern repeats. All the time. The issue is intermittent but should not happen.Have tried all the troubleshooting which seems to be the go-to for SONOS, but nothing they have posted thus far fixes this issue.Has got a lot worse since SONOS pretty much abandoned their legacy Customers. Before this S1 / S2 debacle, never had a SINGLE issue for years, now it’s a bit of a lottery as to whether the system will work as it should.
Sonos Play:5 Gen 2. (Version 13). Play5 is configured to auto detect line in.Speaker unplugged and moved to an area with no wifi. Speaker plugged in. Phone sourcing to Aux in produces music (all is good). Pause play on phone. Restart play on phone, no music from Play5. Unplug of phone confirms sounds is playing from phone Plug phone back in to Play5, reboot phone (tic, toc, tic, toc) On boot, music plays. Questions -- Can the color of the Play5 indicators provide clue to issue? Is there a way to force the Play5 to recapture the stream from Aux input? I assume Play5 sees Aux input gone, and does not re-acquire aux input stream when it restarts. Is there a method to allow music to pause on the iphone and restart (without the long, long reboot of the iphone)?
Hi, hope you can help. I found an old topic regarding this where you state that the phone is a remote and shouldn't affect the playing, but.If I get in to my car and the phone connects to the car hifi music stops. Playing any source.Next, working from home phone calls I connect my Jabra 75t earbuds the music stops.I can just start again but a bit anoing. This also happens when in my sommerhouse, on different internet an separate move.
I reacently bought Sonos Arc, 2x One SL, 2 Ikea Symfonisk bookshelf and a Gen 3 sub.The system is awesome and i love it.But every time i come home from work, and start playing music on the kitchen (2x Symfonisk (placed on the kitchen) and the sub (placed in the livingroom)), only 1 Symfonisk speaker starts playing. After 30-60 sec the sub starts, and after additional 30-60 sec the last Symfonisk starts. Is this normal ? Or is there something i can do to make the whole system start at once?
We cooked up a video that goes over some basic troubleshooting. Hopefully this is helpful. NOTE: This is not a virus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ahb2_UTJabw&t=55s Thanks,ATD
Is this the latest way for Sonos to force updates on users, because Sonos are more important than the end user? What part of ‘its not convenient to update right now’, don't Sonos understand, but hide the music instead so effectively disabling my system until I am a good boy and do my update immediately as Sonos command? Are we all children of Sonos now or what?? Come on Sonos, stop trying to impose yourselves on users.
Been having issues playing tracks stored on the WD NAS drive. Current setup is Sonos boost wired to a switch hanging of the 1st Tenda Nova MW6 node. NAS is also plugged into this switch. The Nova is configured as DHCP (192.168.5.xxx) with the BT Smart Hub 2 running a separate network (192.168.1.xxx)The Sonos app sees all the tracks on the NAS drive but when you try to add one… I get the 701 error. This happens on laptop with the PC controller and the Sons App v2. Diagnostic ID submitted 1966860740 Thank-you in advance. Kind regards,
Hey found the fix to this issue and wanted to share it here.First enable Sonos from System Preferences, Security & Privacy, Privacy, Accessibility (check Sonos)Turn the Firewall off.Route: System Preferences, Security & Privacy, Firewall (turn it off if it’s on)Uncheck File sharingRoute: System Preferences, Sharing, uncheck File Sharing if it is checked. Then, if Sonos is installed, uninstall it from within the app.Route: Click on Sonos, Uninstall then install the newest version from Sonos website and try adding your Music LibrarySonos, Preferences, Music Library, click on +, Another folder or a drive connected to my computer, search the location, Next, Add admin pass and voilà. Spent like the whole day following articles and googling until this method worked. Now I am listening to my iTunes music. CheersJaime
I have 2 Ubiquiti UniFi Lite WiFi Access Points in my house. The WIFI is excelent, the speed is good (300mega bits), I don’t have Amy issues ro problems Within the WIFI connection with any of my devices (Ihopne, IPad, TV, PC, MAC ect...). I do have a hugge problem with the WIFI and Sonos. I have a AMP, one and Beam. 3 times the sonos support has helped me get the Sonos up and running. But each time after some time (days/weeks) the Sonos app can’t find the speekers/roomes, and I have to start all over last time the Sonos supporter and I had to give up the installation. Sonos support can’t help any more and I’m stuck! My last guess is that it could be a WIFI problem between the accespoints ans Sonos. DO YOU HAVE EXPERIANCE WITH WICH SETTINGS “UniFi Lite Access Point” SHOULD HAVE TO FUNCTION WITH SONOS?
I am getting a significant amount of buzz with the subwoofer. Very loud. It is noticeable when hooked up to the Sonos Amp. If I disconnect the RCA wire, it stops. I tried to change outlets but it did not help. I changed RCA cables also with no improvement. Again, it is only when the RCA cable is connected to the Amp, it does not occur if the sub is powered on but not connected. Is there something wrong with the Amp? I cannot use the sub like this; it is intolerably loud.
I updated my wireless AP to UniFi 6 Lite. I connected my Sonos Beam to wifi and to iPhone, and can normally stream music and use AirPlay. However, an Android phone or an iPad won’t anymore connect to or even recognize the existing Sonos system in the Sonos app. I have tried with separate and combined 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz SSIDs with no luck. Other UniFi controller settings are pretty much in their defaults. I would appreciate any ideas on how make the Beam accessible by other mobile devices as well.
