Hi alli know there are a number of queries on Connect dropping off a network and I have read the majority. Following advice I bought a Boost, set it up, I see all my speakers and the Connect have WM:0 against them….Connect still dropping off after a minute or 2. I have tried all 3 channels, 1 is the worst, 6 & 11 about the sameAm I looking at a faulty Connect?
Hi all! This is a brief follow up to the above previous thread I started. The previous thread was marked as 'answered' and closed for further comment which is strange as it certainly wasn't answered! But good news, after 10 months of tantrums and frustration I finally cracked it! I wanted to post how I did because I'd say 95% of what fixed it was from other people's comments and help on the last thread. SO THANK ALL OF YOU SO MUCH! So my problem was an old house, giant thick walls, and my 11 or so speakers constantly cutting out and freezing. I had a netgear orbi mesh system. Now this mesh system was fantastic, but I couldn't get it to play ball with the speakers and the switch between them. Eventually I gave up on the orbi, and bought an Asus router that just manages to reach all the corners of my house. This helped a lot! But didn't fix it Someone recommended I got MANAGED switch, but this was actually making it worse (see below..) although the system wouldn't be much better with a d
Short Version:I have a great room with cathedral ceilings and a TV mounted above the fireplace. I’m planning to use the Sanus TV mount to put the Arc either above or below the TV. I’m worried below may be too warm with the fireplace on. Above may ruin the sound (which may be ruined by cathedral ceilings anyway). Thoughts? Long Version: Here is a pic of the room. The seemingly important measurements are:46” - Floor to Bottom of TV78” - Floor to Top of TV16” - Between Bottom of TV and Fireplace43” - Floor to Eye/Ear Height When Seated12’ - Seating Distance9’ - Floor to Bottom of Cathedral Ceilings14’ 6” - Floor to Top of Cathedral CeilingsFrom everything I’ve read, the cathedral ceilings will ruin the “bouncing” effect of the up-firing speakers. Given that, would mounting above the TV really be a bad idea? Also, there is still plenty of height from above the TV to the ceiling, in case the ceilings don’t ruin it. Finally, the TV is currently tilted down about 10 degrees. So the Arc will
Hi all, apologies in advance for the length of the post, just want to cover all I can to save on questions.I have looked over the forums and troubleshooting but can find a solution other than the usual “blame the users network” as the cause of the issue I will try and describe below. I am biased as I am a networker by trade but the answer of network fault makes no sense and I hope to explain why.Only in the last month or so when I add a song to a queue, that is already running, it misses any addition and continues on to the next song. If it was a network / connectivity issue it would do this to most if not all songs not just the ones I add to the list, the songs in the original queue don’t ever skip or fail to be played. This happens with different playlist queues and created for you playlists from Spotify, so random songs and queues from day to day but issue is consistent. In addition there are no error messages displayed, simply song added to queue shows when the song is dropped into
My Play:1 system is no longer able to be used because when I open the Sonos App it crashes every time. Any tips on what to do when the app crashes? Also, it works perfectly on my husband’s phone which is the same model iPhone as what I have, but the Sonos App crashes a few moments after trying to open each time for me. Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks!
My sonos playbase stopped connecting via airplay. I tried resetting and setup fails at the step where the Playbase is added to a room, when setting up over wifi. On ethernet it sets up properly. Now it only works on ethernet and not wifi.
I have 2 Sonos 1 speakers, one upstairs and one downstairs - had about a month or so. I’ve been playing music using Airplay on both speakers, when suddenly music cuts out and then random music starts playing. It appears to be from a Pandora account, but no songs or stations that seem to be on my account. Nobody in the house has told Alexa to play anything- it just happens automatically. It keeps happening now over and over after a few songs play. I re-authorized my Pandora account, but it happened again. I don’t understand how the speakers can just start playing something else without my interaction - even if it were my Pandora music. There’s been no internet service disruption today, although there was a couple days ago. But nothing happened on that day.
Hi, I have 3 Android devices with Sonos S2 app.One is showing All speakersThe 2 others only showing half og the speakers. All Android devices is in the same WiFi as the sppekers.Have truede find lost speekers from the app.Pless help...
Hello. Previously had been in touch because I have large .wav collection of my recorded LP collection that I couldn’t access. I learned bit speed had to be 16 or less; tested a conversion that worked and thought I was done. But continued having ‘no show’ files in app, or otherwise having files not playable in a few cases. My track filenames can be long, including composer, name of piece, movement, key, opus #, etc, and folder structure can be several layers deep. I just today discovered that if I moved a file one layer higher in folder structure A100 would see it. Is there a ‘total file length’ recognition limitation? Thanksmadsinger
I have bought a Sonos Amp and a Port to augment my system of 2 Sonos 5s, a Playbar and several Ones and Ikea speakers. I'm on Sonos net and have historically always suffered from interference. It's a big help being able to use the Support info to check signal strength etcHowever the Amp and the Port are showing no info or colours etc on the report. I understand this may be a change in policy from Sonos - is that the case? And if so……. why do it?
I have my Gaming PC plugged in to my TV using a AudioQuest Pearl 48 HDMI, which my Sonos Beam 2 is plugged in to via eARC HDMI port. I can play games with the sound coming through my Beam 2 for about an hour then the audio quality starts to drop in quality and distort like it’s playing through a cheap toy speaker, before dropping completely and being reduced to bassy crackles. When pausing my game the audio comes back for a period of time, although still not great before having the same issue. Quickest fix is turning my Beam 2 off and on again at the plug, but this doesn’t seem great fix to me.All devices are wired in to my network and not using Wifi. I haven’t had this problem watching content on my tv… yet. So guessing it is something to do with my PC?
Help! My Android Sonos app suddenly stopped connecting to my three Sonos products yesterday, without me having made any changes. It just suddenly says "Unable to connect to Sonos", and when I follow the instructions to try to fix it, none of it works. Essentially my phone tries to bring the products into the wifi, even though they are already in the same network. The Sonos apps on my two laptops as well as another family member's Android phone still work, and the Sonos products are happily connected both within the wifi and into the internet. I’m currently listening to music with the speakers! It's just my phone that claims Sonos is not visible in the same network.I use a wifi booster, and we also have both 5GHz and 2.4GHz networks. I have played with different permutations, but even when I unplug the booster and disable the 5Ghz and am left with only one unique 2.4GHz source for the wifi, my phone still claims the currently-happily-playing speakers are not in the network where they in
For a while now it seems my Playbar is processing remote control commands twice.Whenever I try and control the volume through one of my remotes (TV. FreeSat, FireTV) the command is actioned but the white light on the Playbar flashes twice. For volume up/down it means the changes are twice what they should be, but it also means I cannot mute the Playbar. Pressing the mute button it mutes and then immediately un-mutes!The same happens no matter which remote I use. I have tried the ‘Remote Control Setup’ within the app but it makes no difference.Any ideas anyone?
I am hoping some other people have experienced this issue. Typically it happens on my iPad (pro, air and mini). If I am watching an app like AT&T TV or Direct TV stream on either device and try to play the sound through any of my sonos speakers the screen will grey out and display “Airplay”. I can hear the sound through my speakers however the video is not displayed on my device. If I switch my “move” or “roam” to bluetooth it will work normal. It doesn't happen on Netflix or Hulu. But it will happen on HBO Max, Direct TV Stream, Starz, and a few others. Has anyone had this problem and found a fix??
Hi there, is it a known problem with the iTunes, that you can't add a service currently? I have deleted and reinstalled a few times, but it gets so far then just stops. Worked perfectly previously. Cheers
When I an listens on streamed radio on my SONOS the audio sometimes skips backwards. I’ve done the usual things with moving the speakers and the router to have better reception but the issue persists.I usually listen on SR.se P1 but also listen on poscasts and the problem is on all radio, when listening on music there are no skiping but some songs are jumped (Spotify).
Hi all! So most of the time my system works flawlessely. I can listen to hours of music without any issues. But then once in a while the Sonos app says “Lost connection to Spotify” and something about encoding. I found several threads about this but not too many recent ones.So when the app loses connection to Spotify songs wont play. It then skips the track and tries the next one, sometimes this track will play and sometimes not. Sometimes it plays for a couple of seconds and then stops.During this time i can play Sonos radio without any issues. The only fix i found is to just let the system be for 20-30 minutes or so and then it fixes itself! Feels just like a Spotify hickup somehow? During this last hickup i checked my router and could not see any devices with the same IP. Also, if this would be IP-related then radio wouldnt play.So i contacted the support and sent them a ticket. They could see interference and advised setting my wifi to channel one wich i did. But i just got this hic
I have my Playbar connected to my TV. I have it resting horizontal on a cablnet below the TV. I have a large room with 20’ ceilings. When I watch TV for some reason I have a hard time hearing people talking during shows/movies. I find that it sounds better when I flip the Playbar up vertically and I can hear the voices better and the background music isn't as loud. Problem is when I flip it vertically then my remote wont control the volume on the playbar anymore. I would have to put back horizontal, adjust the volume, then flip back vertical.Any way around this issue?? I dont want to mount the playbar on the wall vertically so I am at a loss and it is very frustrating even though there is a sensor on the vertical side for volume. Thanks in advance!
I just got a new Sony TV (2021 Bravia X90J) and can’t get the remote to properly control the Playbase volume. After I successfully (according to the Sonos app) pair the remote, the remote will decrease volume (when the - volume button is pressed) but won’t increase volume (when + volume is pressed nothing happens). Any ideas?
My sonos apps on all (5) of my phones has stopped working since the September update to Sonos in 2021. It does, however, work on the PC and on an older, unsupported version of android on an old tablet. I have contacted support (5) times and they escalate to tier two, and that is where the support ends. They promise they will call or email me but… well, its almost Thanksgiving. Oddly, the widget to control a single speaker will work from the phones to fast forward and pause and unpause music, but that is it.After looking at the last 60 scathing reviews of the app I can see I am not alone despite what technical support has been telling me. So, what gives, is Sonos just done as a company, are they actively working on correcting this and I can keep my system or do I just need to abandon it and move on? Please advise.FYI, I have taken the following steps before its recommended: factory reset all speakers uninstall/reinstall the app everything is updated hardwiring speakers running a si
Hi, my Playbar was working fine whilst laid flat. I’ve now wall mounted it and connected it to my TV and I’ve got a high pitched static like noise when it’s in use and afterwards for a while, then it stops. This is happening both when watching TV or listening to music so I don’t think it’s related to the optical cable. I have already done a factory reset which didn’t help.I have submitted a diagnostic (764888460). I’ve also called (customer reference 03461863) but my call got disconnected (poor phone signal on my end).Is there anything you can do to help? Thanks,Chris

This week my Beam would not connect to my Asus RT-AX88U router.I have previously tried the enable then disable Airtime Fairness trick on both 2,4 GHz and 5 GHz, but my Beam would still not connect to my router. Search this forum and you will see instructions for this step. What did help was changing the following option under Wirless → Professional, under 2,4 GHz radio. My Modulation Scheme was set to “Up to MCS 11 (NitroQAM/1024-QAM)”, I selected instead “Up to MCS 9 (TurboQAM/256-QAM)”.Power cycled all my Sonos gear (Beam, Sub and 2 x One), and they connected back to the router and rejoined my surround setup.
Does anyone know if this would be better/work? I have a broadband connection and use the wifi connection from the providers router ( in this case Telenet ).Sometimes when playing the sound on all the ones connected through wifi drops , sometimes a second but sometimes a few seconds in a row, or a sec off, a second on (i also have a connection from my connect to my stereo, because i have two big BOSE boxes attached to that one aswell…. those never drop sound, that’s why i assume it’s a wifi prob)I have 5 play1, one sonos one, one BEAM and a connect.Would something like this:https://www.amazon.fr/NETGEAR-Point-dacc%C3%A8s-WiFi-WAX204/dp/B08MQ5CVQK?ref_=Oct_DLandingS_D_e31ff8b9_64&smid=A1X6FK5RDHNB96&th=1or a MESH set up resolve those problems or not?I think the TELENET router cannot handle all these things? (also have Philips HUE at home)Any help would be appreciated! ThxSid
I have a Sonos One that works fine if I have it in the main room of the house. When I move it to a different room, however, it doesn’t show up as an available device in the Sonos app. Could it have something to do with my wifi setup? I have a Netgear Orbi system with 3 Orbi satellites. The main Orbi router is in the living room next to the stereo system. The Sonos One works fine in that room, but when I take it to a back bedroom (close to one of the Orbi satellites) and plug it in, the device doesn’t show up in the Sonos app. It seems to only work if it connects to the main router and not to one of the satellites.I also have a Sonos Connect, which is connected to the stereo in the living room. It shows up in the Sonos app from any room in the house.
