Sonos app

I have a Beam and a one that are 2 years old not working well with Sonos app.  Should I be using S1 or S2 app? Should I have the original Sonos app & S2 loaded or just S2? 
My problem is the sound fades in and out and Alexa drops off. I use it with a Sony android smart TV.

You can use either app. If you just have the Beam and One, I would recommend using just the S2 app.

I would also try unplugging both speakers from power for a couple of minutes and reboot your router and phone.
