How do you tell if Sonos Connect is Gen 1 or Gen 2.Was bought in June 2015Can’t connect to Orbi router. Changed from ATT 

I am using an old Sonos bridge to power 2 non-Sonos speakers in my outdoor kitchen. Having a hard time re-connecting to “line-in” feature for TV play. I assume direct Digital Optical cable wont work (don’t see input). I tried RCA’s directly with no luck. Thinking I need Optical converter/adapter into RCA’s. The speakers work with normal play (Spotify, etc) but can get the TV to connect.Thanks

Hi we purchased Sonos Amp and connected it to our existing amplifier that is connected to 7 in ceiling speakers each with a volume control slider on the wall.  It seems to work but we’re worried about having 2 amplifiers together.   thanks

Hi Im having some trouble with my arc. Setup is a sonos arc with ones as surrounds and hooked up to a LG B9.   First problem is with eARC - when i use eARC my arc and tv randomly drop connection. If i use a native app and then switch to a channel then the sound goes away. It also happens the other way - when i open an app then there will be no sound. Sometimes it comes back if i switch channel or close the app and sometimes i have to toggle eARC on and off.  I have run a diagnostic: 2125427485 My second problem is with regular hdmi arc - when watching television i will have periodic audio drops. As far as i know this only happen when im streaming (netflix and other native webos apps).  Diagnostic: 170946637

I have bought a ZP90 second hand off eBay, with a view to adding a CD player into my system (streaming services are all well and good, but I miss looking through CDs on a shelf and picking which one to play). I’ve got the ZP90 working ok, but I had to turn the volume up on the source otherwise the Connect wouldn’t detect anything on the line in, to pass onto the rest of the system. When getting a CD Player, do I need one with any sort of pre-amp built in or any feature to ensure that it will work with the connect? Thanks. 

HiTwo part question for SONOS AMPFirstly -I’m looking into upgrading my phono amp from a basic Behringer PP400.I like the idea of a Tube Amp, no more than 150 pounds cost, but I would like it to have an additional AUX input built into it for my CD Player. I am using a very cheap passive AUX switch atm.I have been looking at a company called Dynavox but not that many reviews. They seem to do a range of 4 Tube pre-ampsHas anyone any recommendations? Secondly -I’m unsure exactly how my SONOS AMP works. I understand to a certain degree that its a Digital Amplifier. I’m presuming the LINE IN input gets converted back to Digital when my using my CD or Turntable?If this is the case, would a Tube/Valve amp make much difference in sound or quality? ie am I going to get the benefits of that “Warm” sound that is often referred to with tube amps?Thanks Paul  

I am using Amp to power two high-end loudspeakers. I just added a Paradigm Persona Sub, a $6,800 monster with 3400W peak power and its own crossover dial. This sub is capable of providing great response up to 235Hz. Meanwhile, my loudspeakers are capable of providing great response down to 38Hz.   Basically, I cannot get the blend right. This damn Sonos Crossover is screwing me. Is there a way to disable the Sonos Sub Crossover so that I can adjust using only the crossover on my sub?   I can get more access to the Sub’s capabilities by turning the Sonos Crossover all the way up to 110Hz. But then the Amp is limiting what my  loudspeakers are receiving, yet they are in fact great all the way down to 38Hz.

I’m building a patio with 4 in-ceiling passive speakers as well as a TV. The setup I’m thinking of doing is driving those 4 speakers with the Sonos Amp for music the majority of the time but having the TV plugged in via HDMI arc and having the sound from the TV through the 4 at other times. The speakers and placement are simply for sound coverage and I have no concerns around specific channels of sound (i.e. a specific left and right channel). I’d really like to not have to purchase a 2nd amp if possible. Would this setup work for a 4 speaker setup with all 4 speakers acting as the front speakers for the tv? 

Hi all, My Play:3 has lost 4 rubber feet, and now I need to replace them to keep the device stable. Is it possible to get these replacement parts directly from Sonos?

I am wondering if I can purchase an Arc and then an Amp for my existing non-Sonos rear ceiling speakers and Sub. Would I still be able to get Dolby Atmos or what would be possible. Given I am also looking for a new 65” tv that is eARC compatible. So confusing. I wish Sonos would have a simple chart that maps possibilities.

Hi, i need advice for 3 sonos amp installation. They located one near the other but 1 ethernet socket is available on the wall. For now i added a switch there to connect each one but i prefer a “cleaner” solution.I was reading about the availability of a “daisy chain” solution (7 devices limited) to connect all of them using the secondary ethernet port available. I resume the connection scheme with S(ethernet socket on the wall) where the 3 amps are called A B C, E1 E2 are ethernet ports on the Sonos Amp, and the “----” is an ethernet cable.S ---- A.E1/AE2----B.E1/E2----C.E1In case it’s strongly advocated, we are currently renovating that area, it’s a possible for us to provide 3 ethernet sockets there, so connection scheme will be.S1----AS2----BS3----CApart from the 7 devices limit (we have just 3) are there any other cons about this ? bandwidth ? i know/guess that streaming music does not require gigabit connections...You have any suggestion or comment ?Thank you for your time.  

Hey guys am hoping to buy a turn table shortly and play music off a 5 second gen. Would the WiFi allow the rest of my speakers to pick this up?

I just upgraded to a sonos port and currently have it connected to my Onyko via rca to the CD input. I’m able to play sonos over my main ceiling speakers that are wired to the receiver.  However, i cant get my outdoor wired speakers which are connected to Zone 2 (Note i’m using the wired connetion, not the zone 2 rca outputs).In setup, i set CD to the sonos port and choose analog.  I set CD as the source for Zone 2 and i made sure main and zone 2 are both selected, but no music on zone 2.  Any suggestions?  I’m ordering a digital coax cable to see if that helps.  Any suggestions?

I believe SONOS could have a very popular item by making a SONOS transmitter for TVs.In simple terms take the soundbar electronics and toslink interface and package this as a SONOS tv transmitter.  Use a USB interconnect for the power supply and have a nice small package that could fit behind wall mounted TVs. I would like to use the SONOS speakers for my TV but do not wish to have a SONOS soundbar in the mix.This would seem to offer another way for SONOS to bring users to the family of products.If there is something that already does this please let me know.  

Tot vorige week heb ik 7 jaar lang mijn Beolab 8000 actieve speakers rechtstreeks aangesloten op SONOS CONNECT. Heeft altijd prima gewerkt. Sinds deze week de opvolger PORT in huis en problemen; een van de speakers gaat constant aan en uit als er geen muziek aan staat; de speaker gaat aan en uit getriggered door de ruis vanuit SONOS PORT. Als de speaker niet is aangesloten gaat hij vanzelfsprekend niet aan en uit; als de speaker niet is aangesloten op de SONOS PORT is er geen ruis. De andere speaker werkt correct. Wat kan ik doen? Ik heb al een groundloop isolator geprobeerd; geen enkel effect (zelfs meer ruis). De kabels zijn van prima kwaliteit (afgeschermd en RCA stekkers aan beide zijden).

Hi,I am currently using an Amp (the ‘new’ one) with a pair of B&W 706s2 at the front and Sonos One as rear speakers.I am looking to upgrade my amplification as the Amp isn't able to get the most out of my turntable and speakers potential for music playback.However, I wish to keep the Amp as I truly enjoy the HT convenience.Is there any possibility for me to add an extra 3rd party stereo amplifier into my system, through which I would be playing my music, while still using the Amp for TV? Of course without having to plug/unplug anything when swithing from music to TV.. Thank you for your ideas and suggestions,Cyril

I have 2 play 5s out on my patio by the pool.   I want to connect a third party sub to those for more base outside.  Can I use a connect amp S2 to connect the sub through the sub port only and not use the speaker connections as the play 5 will be in use instead?

Hi All,in my living room I currently have a Samsung TV and a turntable connected to an old Sony HIFI, both on the same living room furniture. I would like to boost the audio of the Samsung (that’s definitely bad) and at the same time change the old Sony HIFI to have something with Airplay 2, to which I can also connect my turntable. I would like to keep my Sony passive speakers, 50W each, that I like how they sound. What would be the best solution? I am thinking of BEAM (as I cannot afford a bigger one due to size) and AMP, but in the case what would be the best configuration? Would BEAM work by itself when watching TV and the passive speakers be used for audio only, or should it work in any different way? How about when playing music via spotify? Would the amp stream only on the passive speakers, or would beam be involved? I am getting lost :) I cannot move the speakers somewhere else.

My Move cuts out with TV Audio  only.  This started after the last update.  I have reset everything several times.  No luck. I have not changed any devices on the network.  I submitted a diagnostic.  But I don’t see email support anymore.

Im trying to find out if a certain record player (Audio-Technica AT-LP120XUSB) would be able to connect to a sonos play:5. I know that the turntable a preamp has two different output, including USB and RCA’s, but the play:5, which is what I plan on connecting it to, does not have an RCA input, only an AUX. Is there a way to connect RCA to AUX? Will the sound be right? Would something else be better to connect through (Sonos Port or Amp)?

Is the Sonos Amp weatherproof and can be installed outdoors? I mean the amp  that supports the Sonos Outdoor speakers.

Hi everyone,I own a Sonos ZP100 and from what I’ve read it seems that I could use both the speakers ouputs AND the analog line-out (plugged to another amplifier) simultaneously in order to play the same music on both my loudspeakers + my old amplifier. I think I’ve read that it is also possible to create two different zones (though it isn’t necessary for my current installation):Zone 1: loudspeakers outputs Zone 2: analog line-outHere is what I have done so far: Line-in is working perfectly fine.BUT, my problem is: When I play music with ‘normal’ settings (meaning Line-out level is set to Variable), I only have the sound coming out on my L 500/1 Loudspeakers and nothing coming out on the amplifier/L710 (analog line-out).When I play music with Line-out level set to Fixed or Pass-through (even if I know that obviously this amplifier isn’t compatible with pass-through) the music only comes out on the Amplifier/L710 and there’s nothing coming out on the L 500/1 / Loudspeakers output. Is th

Hi, I’m trying to connect my built in (non-sonos) ceiling and wall speakers to my existing Sonos Playbar and Sub in my living room.I’ve purchased a Denon AVR-X6500H AV Receiver that supports multiple zones (I need multiple zones).I’ve purchased a Sonos Port.I’ve setup Port on my iOS app and it asked me which room, I selected the main room that was already setup, it created a duplicate of the room and numbered it #2. In the app under the device in Family Room #2, it shows the Line-In as “Disconnected” even though I have the RCA cables setup per below diagram. I have not connected the wires for the prewired built in house speakers to the AV receiver yet. Waiting on the wires to arrive in the mail. However, I should be able to use the Sonos speakers for now, no?I’m not receiving any audio at all but I see video. What am I missing that needs to be corrected?Here’s my wiring diagram as of this moment: 

Will a connect stream music to sonos speakers (line in source), I thought it was the point of the connect? Thanks in advance
