Hi Sonos Crew -I need some advice/help..?  I recently purchased 2 Wet Sounds VS-8 outdoor wall speakers for my backyard. I have them powered by a Sonos Amp from inside my house.  They are incredibly clear and loud.  Bass is pretty good, but I feel like they are overpowered but the horn loaded compression driver.  Still the best outdoor speakers I’ve owned.  So these face our pool area from the back of our house.    My issue is with the next set up.  I plan to install 3 Wet Sounds VS-6 in some large planter boxes we have surrounding our pool. This will be powered by a 2nd Sonos amp for pool area (so not the same amp that connects to outdoor wall VS-8 speakers). I will also have at least 1 of the 12 inch Wet Sounds outdoor subs buried in 1 of the planter boxes. Currently I have one VS-6 and one sub set up for a test trial. I feel like the sub just isn’t getting enough juice to really make it thump.  I’m thinking of buying another a 3rd Sonos Amp just to power the sub.  As of now I have a

I have just sold my Sonos arc and want to by another sonos Soundbar later. Can I still use my Sub with my Play 5 or my Symfonisk speakers from Ikea? if yes how do i set it up?

I want to purchase sonos connect amplifier , I shall be setting up a WiFi connection with Internet. In the event Internet is down momentary on my WiFi,  will I still be able to play stored music on phone over the WiFi on sonos connect amp?Internet services is unreliable in my region, I don't want to get frustrated not been able to play music when Internet is down?

I've read through the discussions here and it upset me that no one provided this easy solution. Listen Not everyone wants to stream FM/AM local broadcasts!!! Some people like myself want a simple TUNER connected to their sonos system so they can QUICKLY go to a local radio station. I had to look around and finally purchased a HD tuner by Sangean, I believe its the model 100. I also had the sonos Amp which I connected the tuner RCA outputs into the Amp. The Amp also has small wired speakers because I use this in my workout room. I get the best of both worlds with this setup! So sonos if they are smart will create a simple TUNER because not everyone wants to stream EVERYTHING!!! Make sense.????

We are looking into upgrading to our first Sonos system, I’m looking at an ARC ultra along with a sub 4 and two Era 300s as the rear speakers. Primary use will be movies. We don’t want to do speaker stands and we don’t actually have a wall behind the couch for another 20 feet. Has anyone ceiling mounted the Era 300s? I read that in the settings you can invert them but does anyone have a similar setup and can make recommendations. Does it work well for surround sound / atmos experience?

I’m planning to purchase 3 pairs of Sonos 8 inch In-Ceiling Speakers (INCL8WW1).Can it be powered by one Sonos AMP or do I need more to use the speakers upto full capacity?

HI, I have a sonos amp 2X125W and I want to put 2 speakers focal aria 906 who need 20 to 120w I want to know if my sonos AMP is too powered for those speakers ? 

Really effecting my decision to purchase more speakers. 😔

Ok here's what I have going on right now, I have a connect gen 2 with rca out ran to an amp powering my 2 outdoor speakers on my patio.  The new tv I put out there this year has terrible audio and wanted to have the option of playing the tv thru my outdoor speakers.  My connect has an optical input, I would assume I can just wire that in but I also don’t want to spend a lot of money running a good optical wire thru my attic how the wire would have to be run.   Am I better off using the hdmi arc out from the tv into an extractor that that did optical out, or that goes to rca out?  I’m trying to avoid the easy solution of spending 700$ on a Sonos amp since I pretty much have everything and can possibly make this work for under 100$. Also will I be able to easily switch between whatever I want to play in my app (which isn’t easy at all, but thats another issue) and the tv audio in the app? sorry I dip my toes at best in this world, and am not big in understanding audio.

Is a SONOS Connect Amp serial 1603 a Gen 2? I am pretty sure Gen 2 starts after June 2015 so March 2016 should be 99% Gen 2 right?

Had to change my router today so needed to add Sonos to network.  Turns out my Connect Gen2 is too old to auto join so had to factory reset, now still can’t join network app keeps sending me round in circles.Sonos people, this is the latest in a long line of problems I have had in the last few months, please guide me through this latest one, or if anyone else can, I would be very grateful. 

Does turntable require a wire to connect to Sonos because I was wondering the to keep the beauty of wireless and add a turntable to it does that is possible ?

Hello, I’ll try to be as detailed as possible so here we go.  I currently have and Arc, Sub and 2x One SL’s in my living room. With the arc connected to the TV and the sub and 2 One SL’s linked to the Arc in the same ‘Sonos room’ (living room), this is my surround sound setup which I also use to stream spotify through. I also have a Sonos move which is separate but can link with my Arc and play the same audio and can be carried around the house and into the garden for example. My question is this, if I was to connect a turntable (with a built in pre amp) to the Sonos amp and then to passive third party speakers in a separate room (my upstairs office) would I also be able to play this audio (from the turntable) simultaneously on the rest of my Sonos system (surround sound and move) wirelessly through the SONOS app? Or is this not possible?  I hope that makes sense, and help is appreciated.   

Hi All! I am contemplating installing a Sonance MAG 6.1 but need 2 add 2 speakers which I understand can not be added in wired fashion. I was told that i could run 2 extra wifi speakers off the sonos app. Can anyone confirm if this is true or not?  Thanks!

Hi all, thanks in advance for any advice given. I’ve read other topics around turntables but not quite got the info I need. You will gather as you read my question that I’m not particularly tech savvy hence asking all you knowledgeable people out in the community 😊I bought a Beam 2, 2 x era 100 and a mini sub for my LG TV last month and am very happy with it; it sounds fantastic in my living room. In my kitchen I have my old stack system. A Pro-Ject RPM 1.3 Genie turntable, a Rotel RA-820B amp, cd player and tuner and 2 sets of Tannoy mercury F speakers attached via a switching box for 2 room playing. I’d like to add my turntable to the Sonos setup. The cd player, tuner and speakers are now obsolete with the purchase of the Sonos but I’d like to keep my LPs.My understanding is that my amp has a phono pre amp for the turntable (photo for info) the turntable doesn’t have its own pre amp. Therefore if I wanted to connect to the Sonos over my WiFi connection I’d need to buy a Sonos port a

Hi. I have several connect amps 2017.  Is there an advantage to upgrading my connect amps to a newer version?

I have several Sonos speakers in the house, plus an integrated amp (NAD355 80w amp) that I used to use with an old Gen 1 Connect. I no longer use that Connect since it became glitchy. Otherwise, the amp currently only gets audio from a TV and connects to two tower speakers (Paradigm monitor). The NAD amp just died, and would be costly to repair.I think the best replacement is probably a Sonos Amp. I’ll be able to connect those speakers to the rest of the system again (plus use the TV).My questions are around the workflow of the Amp with the TV as well as audio streaming. My TV doesn’t have HDMI audio out. It has a small headphone jack or optical out, which I’d connect to the line in on the amp. I think there’s some auto-play from line-in functionality, but I haven’t used it:Does it work well? How seamless would it be to turn on the TV and have audio come out of my tower speakers via the Amp? I don’t want to have to get out my phone to tell the amp to play audio from the TV.  Can volume

I've read a bunch of related responses here, but I'm still having trouble getting my Sonos speaker to play music from my Denon receiver. I have the two connected via the digital coax cable. The rest of my components are connected to the receiver. The sonos app is set up and shows the Port as one of the options to play. I'm set on fixed volume. I'm on Zone 2….but still nothing. Any suggestions?

Hey, any advice would be appreciated please :-)  I want to put ceiling speakers across 3 rooms.  room one is 60m2 room two is 39m2room 3 is 15m2 my question is two fold: how many speakers would you recommend in each room and how many amps would I need to fuel all speakers to potentially be playing same music at same time? Thanks in advance !

Recently, I wanted to change out the three Sonance amps for my whole home audio system, which i run with two sonos ports. I would have to purchase 4 sonos amps to make this happen. I started with one to check it out, and unfortunately there is not fixed volume limit.I understand I can adjust it in the app, but since there are other people in the home, it is much easier to use the volume control in each room. We have both fixed and app drivien speakers here so you can see the issue.I am hoping you add this feature to the amps so down the road I can switch to all Sonos Amps.For now, Ill have to repurchase Sonance amps until this feature is added.Does anyone know if this will be added to the software? 

Hi!I have a CD-player Marantz cd6007 and a Sonos Amp; a couple of Bowers&Wilkins speakers and two One. My question is which line in level do you recommend on the amp? 

I have purchased a Connect:Amp from a seller who claims he never activated or used the upgrade option. He says the discount eligibility should transfer to my Sonos account. The device is registered, but the upgrade discount option does not appear. What am I doing wrong?
