Ok here's what I have going on right now, I have a connect gen 2 with rca out ran to an amp powering my 2 outdoor speakers on my patio. The new tv I put out there this year has terrible audio and wanted to have the option of playing the tv thru my outdoor speakers. My connect has an optical input, I would assume I can just wire that in but I also don’t want to spend a lot of money running a good optical wire thru my attic how the wire would have to be run.
Am I better off using the hdmi arc out from the tv into an extractor that that did optical out, or that goes to rca out? I’m trying to avoid the easy solution of spending 700$ on a Sonos amp since I pretty much have everything and can possibly make this work for under 100$.
Also will I be able to easily switch between whatever I want to play in my app (which isn’t easy at all, but thats another issue) and the tv audio in the app?
sorry I dip my toes at best in this world, and am not big in understanding audio.
