Is a SONOS Connect Amp serial 1603 a Gen 2? I am pretty sure Gen 2 starts after June 2015 so March 2016 should be 99% Gen 2 right?

Hi @nospam,

If the serial starts with 1603 then yes, I would say it’s a Connect:Amp Gen 2. You’re correct that the Connect:Amp Gen 2 released in 2015, so anything after that can safely be considered Gen 2. Another way to tell is that the Gen 1 and Gen 2 have different graphics on the button above the LED; Gen 1 has a speaker with a line through it (mute button), while Gen 2 has a Play/Pause button.

Our support team can look up the serial number to see exactly what version it is if you have it, but I would say it’s not necessary in this case.

I hope this information helps!
