how many speakers would you recommend in each room and how many amps would I need to fuel all speakers to potentially be playing same music at same time?
Thanks in advance !

I have 6 speakers powered by one Sonos amp, also connected to the AudioFlow WiFi enabled channel switch, so I can remotely choose which room/speaker pair to direct the music towards. I can also have all 3 rooms / 6 speakers play the same music at the same time. If you truly need 8 speakers, I would recommend 2 amps with two channel switches. If you would like to have the ability to play different music at the same time in each room, then you would need one amp/room.
Based upon the information you provided regarding room size with no mention of actual layout and assuming they will be used for music:
room one is 60m2 _Amp plus 4 speakers
room two is 39m2_Amp plus 2 speakers
room 3 is 15m2_Amp plus 2 speakers
Know that for more low-end in each room you would need 3 subs; one for each room.
Thanks to both for your replies, I’ve seen this online but assuming from what you’ve said the one amp included will not be sufficient and I’d need to get more
That ‘bundle’ makes no sense at all. And it certainly wouldn’t ever be considered four zones, with a single Amp. A single Sonos Amp, even if it were to connect to eight speakers, which it can’t, would still be a single zone. One Amp per zone.
Yeah, that makes no sense. Even with the Made for Sonos model Sonance speakers, each Amp can only power 3 pairs, and none of them would be a separate zone. They would all be playing the same source at the same volume.
@Gdcb13
Thanks for add.
A Sonos amp will only power 6 speakers max.
If you want each room to act independently you will need 3 amps. You can decide how many speakers per amp
If At anytime you want all rooms or just two rooms to play the same music you can group them together as you see fit. FYI, grouping can be broken at any time to resort all rooms back to separate zones
BTW.. there are no exceptions to what I just communicated.
The speakers would have to be engineered so that they could be wired in series and represent an 8 ohm load to the amp. This package does that, but I’m doubtful the package listed above is the same. Regardless, you still only have one zone/room with all speakers at the same volume.
Thank you so much, this is all really helpful. I had my suspicions the one amp wouldn’t be enough and it’s misleading to sell 8 speakers with one amp to people who think that would be enough if being sold together.
With your advice I will be adding more amps to our order as a minimum.
