We have wifi through a Verizon Jetpack, does anyone know how to successfully connect Sonos through the jetpack? It looks like I cannot set the Jetpack to a static IP address, instead it applies a different IP to each device connected. I did not know if there is a way to create the static IP through my laptop and connect Sonos through that? If anyone has successfully connected a Sonos System by using the Verizon Jetpack, I'd appreciate your thoughts/information! (I have a Sonos 1, if that information is relevant).

Hi, I have my Sonos System (Playbase, Sub and 2 Play1) up and running using a wired connection. Now, I would like to bring the Speakers on my wifi. I have created a separate SSID, just for Sonos, with the recommendations here from the forum. The playbase comes up and I can play music on the playbase using my phone or tablet or whatever. But the Sub and the 2 Play1 will not join the group. They are connected to the Wifi, but they will not form the group. anything special I need to consider, to get this working as well? BR Florian

I received the Vinyl Pro Set ordered from the Sonos website as a wedding gift. The box I received contains two Play 5 speakers and a Pro-Ject Essential III Phono turntable. I cannot seem to connect the turntable to Bluetooth so I can stream my records. The instructions for the turntable are no help. Please let me know what I need to do. Thanks so much for the help.

I had to replace my router. Unfortunately, i decided to reset my controller. Now my system will not connect even with an existing speaker plugged into the new router. I cannot get the app and a speaker functioning together.

Hi guys, I just purchased a Klipsch home theater system and I am hoping to also connect speakers in other rooms to the system as a separate zone setup for wireless. I was planning to try to run wires through the condo, but it's a pain, so I was considering getting the rocketfish wireless unit just to connect to my Onkyo's zone 2 and 3 outputs. I've recently come across the Sonos and I am wondering if it can help me achieve the same thing with better quality and also I hope you can help me figure out the most cost-effective way to do this (do I need to get a Sonos connect:amp for everything? What else do I need to get everything going?). The background: I purchased a Klipsch reference bundle, but ended up getting the reference premier set as well. Now I will be selling the reference subwoofer and center speaker and the yamaha receiver that came with the reference bundle, but keeping everything else. I have a playbar with a toslink splitter, connected to TV on on side and a Chromecast audio dongle with toslink output. This works as a Chromecast workaround however the playbar assumes the Chromecast optical signal is a TV signal. Therefore dialogue enhancement etc is available but the rear speakers in my 5.1 setup only play ambient sound from the audio track. Anyone else tried this or have a way to make it work? I wish Sonos would add an option in the surrounds settings for full range rears from TV like they offer for music That would solve my problem. When linked to more rooms it sounds great on my other stereo pairs, just not in the 5.1 room.

Hi all. I had to move one Sonos beam from one wifi network to another. Since the app did not worked out (1st problem), I've decided to factory reset the device and then reconnect it to the new wifi network. After all the configuration, I was expecting that all my favorites were reloaded as before, The fact is that I have the black band with the announcement about the "my favorite" feature, but it doesn't work 🙄. Any ideas on how to restore them?

I have an ASUS router (RT-AC88U) with both wired and wireless speaker connections. I have an ASUS repeater (RP-AC68U) connected (wireless) to the router. Finally i have one speaker that is hard wired to the repeater. Everything works great. I can group all of the speakers if I want. I can control the music anywhere on the network. However, the Sonos app insists there is a problem and pops an error message when I do just about anything in the app. It doesn't impact the functionality, but it is annoying as it comes up all. the. time. Is there anyway to turn off this prompt?

Hi, I would like to AirPlay discrete 5.1 from my Mac or iPhone XS to a Sonos Beam. My Sonos Beam is grouped with two Play: 3s as LS + RS speakers. When I connect to AirPlay and open Audio MIDI Setup, AirPlay only has the option of 2 outputs, and can't be configured for 5.1 surround. Similarly, everything I stream from my Mac or iPhoneXS is downmixed to stereo. How do I get discrete 5.1 setup using Airplay ? If it's not possible, how can I get discrete 5.1 surround from my Mac to either a Sonos Beam or Playbar ? My Macbook Pro doesn't support ARC HDMI or Optical Audio Out. Hi - it is a while since I looked at this and I have a few queries. I presume that it is digital stream compression not audio compression/limiting as used by radio stations, that wouldn't make sense? I see that there is now an "automatic" option. Does any one know exactly what that means? Do we know if it is lossless (as per FLAC which achieves quite good compression wrt WAV)? Or is it lossy (as per MP3)? I am asking because I have been using line in from my Hi-Fi and recently it has started to break up. I found that it was set to automatic. Changing it to compressed removes the problem - I have not tried using uncompressed yet.

I am really hoping that we could have a time based volume limits setting. This would mean you could set multiple volume limits which apply at different points in the day. Therefore if 9pm the volume automatically reduces to the 9pm volume limit.

My current setup for surround is a Playbase for the front with 2 Ones as the rear speakers but no sub. I’d like to use my powered analog Yamaha sub to complete everything and am considering the Connect (not the Connect Amp) Will this work?

I've searched a bit through the forums on this topic but need something clarified. I have existing wired outdoor speakers connected to a Connect to give me Sonos control over them. Part of my yard isn't feasible for wiring so I'd like to add two (battery powered) Bluetooth speakers to this set up. Questions: [1] I assume a Bluetooth transmitter gets connected to the Audio OUT RCA jacks on the Connect? [2] The existing Sonos Connect connects to the wired speaker amp via the RCA Out jacks; Can I piggyback the BT transmitter to this same connect buy using y-splitters for the L and R RCA out jacks or do I need an additional Connect module? [3] Or can I just use the single Coax Out for the BT transmitter? Thanks!

The speaker SONOS ONE has boost mode, to help to connect anothers speakers with own WIFI, but my question is, the SONOS BEAM also has boost mode? Or not?

I have a Mixed Mode setup with Wired and WiFi connected speakers.I don't use SonosMesh as the WiFi space is so crowded that you can't run a single channel (1,6 or 11) clearly through out the setup. Somehow the wired (!) office keeps dropping out. Any idea why this would happened? (and also I have STP undefined in my network matrix, to unknown devices..?!)

Hi guys, I need serious help after replacing my 3  extreme for 6x TP-Link DECO M5 impossible to get any music through the DECO M5 here's my original setup 4x Sonos AMP:CONNECT 3x AirPort Extreme (tower version) never connected any CAT5 to any of my 4x AMP:CONNECT all music was perfectly streamed only over wifi form any od all my  devices without any issues for years I decide to replace the 3x older Airport for 6x DECO M5 1x DECO is acting as a router & I have connected a network switch for network port expansion, NAS, iMac.... the only difference is my new wifi system (much better over my 6000sq/ft) but now after totally reset my 4x AMP:CONNECT I still not able to stream anything on it as a test I decided to reconnect 1x older AirPort Extreme directly to my network switch (who is connected directly to the new DECO). I would like to add two subs to a room. Is that possible?

There is only one output (optical) from my new LG OLED TV and it goes to an optical splitter (1 in 4 out) and on to my Playbar as well as 2 Transmitter/Receiver earphones. The 2 earphones require the output from the TV to be PCM. Because the TV must transmit via PCM to the Playbar will that limit my ability to have a 3.1 SONOS system?

I encountered the same problem, and as I understood it, SONOS is indifferent to the requests of its customers. I connect TRAKTOR S2 MK3 through Line-in and so it is absolutely impossible to play. For me, it’s really not clear why this problem cannot be solved for so many years, because it is fixed by one new firmware. Why do we need smart chips if you plugged the speaker through the cable? Turn them off and let the sound go directly! Dear and beloved company SONOS, forget about it or is there at least some chance in the future? After all, there would not be this problem, many would choose PLAY 5 as a monitor, buy a second PLAY 5 speaker for themselves.

I can use Sonos on Mac and Windows running NordVPN, yet on Android phone I get error from Sonos - "You are connected to a vpn which may interfere with connecting to Sonos." Sonos then directs me to NordVPN settings which only gives two setting options - (1) Always-on VPN (which I am not going to change to just use Sonos), and (2) Block connections without VPN (which I have tried in both on and off modes - neither work). Any ideas as to how to get Sonos to work?

I don't know what happened to you people at sonos, but something is fundamentally wrong. Not only do you force me to register an account, you force me to use a mobile app and you make your own hardware unusable. I used my sonos play 5 gen 2, which cost more than 500 bucks, at my company. There we have an internal lan and a guest wifi. I once registered my play 5 successfully on our guest network. Now our wireless password changed. Your suggestion is of course, just connect to the wired network... The problem is, my smartphone does not have an ethernet port. I thought i could just reset my play 5 and start over, but, probably because you have registered my previous setup with my account, the setup fails and it says i have to shortly connect to the wired network to finish the setup. I am not very technical but my ears realise and can separate 5.1 sound from stereo sound. HENCE the below question: I have purchased 2 x Playbars , 4 x Play 1s from a store near me in Sydney (stock will be available Thursday, 7th June, so I have 2 days to change my mind), obviously coz i want to have cinema like effect. But reading through the communities (AFTER purchase, as you always and should do...grrr) I realised some of you are saying that Blu Rays or Netflix wont play in 5.1. WHHHHAATTTTT ?? I have a commercial set up with 3 connects, 8 amps, and 5 sony tvs connected to 5 of the amps. 3 major issues; when browsing something to play and choosing the TV submenu I've noticed that all 8 of my amps show up as options to select even though, as stated above, only 5 of the amps have HDMI connected. I'd like to suggest that amps only show up as a viable option under browse if they actually have HDMI connected and have been set up to work with a TV. Otherwise it's really confusing. Other major issue is the naming convention which is "TV: [name of your sonos zone]" limited to 16 characters. In my case I have 2 TVs over a bar, left and right, left is hooked up to the sonos amp for the room it's physically in, which is fine, but the the right tv is hooked up to the amp running the bathroom, so if a user wants to listen to the right tv in the bar area they need to go Browse/TV: 1st floor Bath. With only 16 characters I can't rename this zone something more obvious like "TV: 1st floor Ba

I initially installed a Crestron system in the house when I built it. It's one unit downstairs in the utility room where all of the speaker wires congregate to. The Crestron can play in each room or in all. There's the living room, 3 bedrooms, and outside in the screened in porch. Over the years I have migrated to Sonos and have a TV in the living room with a playbar, 2 Sonos 1's and a sub. Another play 1 in the bedroom, and a play 5 that migrates between the screened in porch and the gym. I was wondering how I could integrate or setup the Sonos to be able to play through all of the room speakers or even ho to get the Sonos to play individually in each room via these integrated speakers in the wall. Your help would be greatly appreciated. I plan on using Alexa as well to stream music.

I upgraded my receiver to a Denon AVRH3500H from a Yamaha RX-V677 recently. Previously, when using Spotify on my iPhone, I could connect directly to Sonos. Now that option is not there. I can connect to Denon directly via Airplay through Spotfiy but it only plays in my front speaker on my 5.1 speaker set up. The Sonos is ethernetted in to my wifi and connected to the Denon through coax through Cable/Sat 1. THANKS!
