What to get

How does this program work.  I have a Beam 1st generation. I'd like a 2nd gen so Sonos is offering a 15% discount. If I take advantage of the upgrade discount do I have to send Sonos my old Beam or can I keep it?

Hi Peeps,I have a port with powered b&o speakers. I want to add a turntable and assume I won’t need a pre-amp or amp as the speakers are powered.Is this correct? Or am I a silly newbie who doesn’t know what I’m talking about? 

My TV room sound system currently has a Sonos arc and two Sonos 1 and sound is amazing when watching TV. I want to keep now a much cleaner/simple room and want to replace the two Sonos 1 speakers which sit on the back with Ceiling or Wall speakers. What would be the best recommendation to keep good quality sound surround system for the TV? 

Hi.I’m looking to replace an outdated system with new equipment. Thinking of two x Ones (for large back room) and one x Five for Lounge. We’d like to include a CD player that will link with the Sonos speakers and have been advised that we only need a CD/Amp which will plug directly into the Five and connect wirelessly with the two Ones.Questions as follows:Is the above correct? Will I need any other Sonos equipment to achieve this (I’ve been advised I won’t)?Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced but decent compact CD player, ideally with an integrated amp that would work with the Sonos kit? ThanksMartyboy

Hi, I’m brand new to Sonos. We are currently constructing an alfresco area that is fully enclosed and weatherproof. Dimensions are 9m long x 5m wide x 3.5m high with pitched roof. We are planning to split the area into two sections. One end will be TV and lounge, the other will be dinning. I’d like to be able to do the following:Have the lounge area and dining area split so we can have music playing at the dining area and TV sound at the lounge end. Join both these areas to play music from the same source if we are having a larger party and the TV is offIf I purchased the following, https://www.sonos.com/en-au/shop/surround-set-arc-sub-one-sl, would i be able to do this? I’m thinking the Arc and Sub connected to the TV, with the two One SLs mounted either side of the dining table. The image below shows the proposed set-up.We are also thinking of possibly adding another One opposite the TV in the future if it’s needed. We have powerpoints at all locations shown but won’t be able to run

Hi Everybody,I’m pondering a Sonos setup for my great room. It’s pretty large… 36x36 with mild vaulting, and the TV is in the corner. I’m thinking of the Arc under the TV, and assume I’d need a couple rear speakers. We’d use it for TV, streaming shows & movies 2/3 of the time, and music 1/3 of the time.  Thanks for any suggestions you might have!

Hello all,  i have a living room with a 17 foot hight ceiling, I need a sound bar for my tv. I own a couple of play1 to possibly set up a surround. Im qorried that with the ARC (which is way over budget) the sound will be off due to my high ceiling. also, if i decide to get the beam, is the gen 2 worth it since i got high ceiling and i know its hard even for atmos ? thank you

Can Sonos AMP replac my NAD stereo amplifier?I currently use the stereo amplifier solely for listening to vinyls.My current setup consists of a Pro-ject Debut Carbon EVO turntable, Dali Oberon 3 speakers and a NAD C316.Around the house we have several Play:1 and a Playbar.The purpose of the Sonos AMP is NOT to get the vinyl sound to my other Sonos speakers but to include my Dali speakers into the rest of the Sonos setup when streaming music. Replacing the NAD amplifier cleans up the area which is preferred over getting a Sonos Port and adding that to the stack of tech gear. (just to keep the wife happy… )Reading about delay settings, compressed/uncompressed makes me wonder if the AMP can in fact work as a stereo amplifier without doing all sorts of audioprocessing. Keeping the sound as analog as possible when playing vinyls.Reading other post about turntables and sonos seems to be more about getting the sound from the turntable to other Sonos speakers. Hello - I need some help from the community here.  I have an outdoor TV (mounted way under the extended patio, no concern with rain issues).  I also have a Move that I pair via Bluetooth for sitting in the hot tub so we can watch TV without blasting the sound from the TV itself.  I am thinking of purchasing a sound bar on Black Friday and I’m considering the Beam among others.  My desire is to have better sound when not in the hot tub than the standard TV speakers, and being able to watch from the patio and the hot tub at the same time.I understand that Beam/Move can’t be paired, but they can be grouped.My question: if I’m watching the TV with a beam underneath, will grouping the Move work? Will there be sync issues? Can I change volume independently on the beam and the move? As I only have one Sonos product now, I am unfamiliar with the process of grouping (wifi? BT?). Is there anything else I should consider?

I wanted to buy some stands which are 71.99 on offer on the Sonos store but when I add them while logged in it shoots the price back up to 89.99 in the basket. Anyone else seeing this issue?

We have Sonos home config with several of the older generation of devices (Play:1, Play:3, and Soundbar). We'd like to make these easier to access from our Apple devices, so am contemplating buying e.g. a Sonos ONE based on the claim that this will enable AirPlay to control all the speakers. However posts like these ~3 years definitely suggest that the exact operating functionality and compatibility was not clear:How will extending AirPlay work Access to AirPlay 2 when using One as surround speakrSince it's been 2+ years since this was released, I'm hoping to now understand how this will works and (most importantly) any limitations or "gotchas" we should be ware of (e.g. potentially relative to speaker positioning, models, or grouping). Hi all,recently bought an Sony 65 inch X90J and are now looking to add a sound setup.Our TV-room is in the basement, height to ceiling is about 6,9 feet. The room is L-shaped and the TV is around the corner like the picture below. The distance from wall where tv stand to next wall where sofa is are about 10,5 feet. The totalt width is about 20 feet.Now we want a good all round setup without spending to much (ie sub, soundbar and rears). I am looking at either Arc alone, Beam gen 2 alone or Beam gen 2 with Ikea Symfonisk as rear. Given the room layout which option do you think will do best?

I already have a pair of Bronze Audio 50 speakers hooked up to my sonos amp with the hdmi arc connected to my TV. I’m considering picking up a central speaker, the BA C150. Is it possible to connect this to the amp also, and can anyone see a benefit to the setup or drawbacks?

I have two play 1 and one play 5 - all gen 1, and a bridge (gen 1).  I see no need to combine them with a sonos 2 on the same system, but I’d like to connect sonos to bluetooth headphones as a gift. I don’t think there is a way to do that with sonos gen 1. So buy a sonos 2, and use it in the same house, for this purpose? I know I could use a music streaming service right off the phone for this person, but I’m sure he wouldn’t want to run down his phone. thanks - 

Hi there I can’t seem to find a clear answer to this question.I have two rooms that I’d like to power with a single sonos amp.  Each room has two ceiling speakers that I'd like to replace with architectural ceiling speakers.  I realize only one audio output can be sent to all speakers, but can I ‘shut off’ individual architectural speakers, to only play the sound in one of the rooms?  I was hoping to set this up with airplay 2 and Apple Homekit to control the speakers of each room. Thanks

I am moving into a new house with a 7.1 prewire for ceiling speakers in the living room, two speakers in the kitchen, and two outside. I would like to be able to play music on all 3 zones or have 7.1 system playing whatever is on the TV while also playing music on the other 2 zones (if I can’t do this, it’s not a deal breaker, but I want to be able to play music on all 3 zones for sure). What is the best way to accomplish this with Sonos? All music will be the same source, but I don’t always want the music on each zone, so I’d like to choose which zone it plays on.These will be non sonos branded speakers if that matters. Do I buy a receiver/amp that can run multiple zones and then one Sonos port for all 11 speakers? I would like to queue music either with my phone, google home, or a Brilliant switch. Would this be possible without having to run over to a physical box somewhere and change an input? Thanks for the help!

Would anyone have advice on connecting the Steepletone ST918 turntable to the Sonos One speakers.It has Line Out (RCA) AND sub woofer out connections.  I have been researching online and think I could use the Sonos Port but I don't want to buy it unless I'm sure its worth it.  Any advice appreciated  

Can anyone please recommend a managed ethernet switch. I am struggling to connect more than one Sonos device at a time as I am getting a loop. I know only one needs to be plugged in but my router is upstairs and I would like to connect at least one of the downstairs devices to sure up the signal and need it to get to the garden room as it is a weak signal. I can get it to work if I was able to connect the kitchen play 5 which is the closest to the garden room.Thank you

I recently moved house to a place that has speaker in the ceilings throughout the downstairs. They are all wired through to a comms box. Do I need the Port or the Amp to set this up and will it allow me to play different music in each room or will it only allow one song to be played throughout?

Hi everyone.There is a lot of discussion around this and it sounds like my setup won’t work.  I’m new to Sonos, so I’d really like to go with Sonos, so I want to make sure this won’t work before moving on.My intention is to setup Sonos Amp for both my Samsung Frame TV and record player.  The room has 4 surround in-wall dumb speakers.  To make this cost effective, I’d like to keep these speakers and replace the other 2 pairs of ‘in ceiling’ speakers in the house with architectural speakers to play selectively digital music as different rooms.  I’d like to use the existing dumb ceiling speakers for my living room with the TV and record player.  Am I correcting in understanding that because I am setting up as surround for the TV, the amp could not be used to play vinyl out of the dumb surround speakers because the line in is disabled?As a workaround, could the second amp be used as the line in for the record player?  Could it then play the vinyl on the surround setup through the other amp
