What to get

I have a sonos beam and wish to connect it to a cd-player. Is this impossible or can I buy some sort of box that the cd-player can be connected with, which also connects to a sonos beam?

Hi there, this is my first post here, as until now i was very happy with my Sonos 5 / Fives. Now the Situation is changing, therefore i need some advice. I will be moving to a new place soon, which is oddly shaped and smaller than the current one. Current Setup: 2 Sonos Five Current State: Happy with the output, but the Fives do need to be at least at 40% to deliver performance. I currently do have the space and freedom to accommodate the fives and crank up the volume.Upcoming:  I will move to a smaller place and the Kids will be residing right behind the wall where the TV and the speakers are located. Question: Interested in downgrading my fives to one sl + sub (no need for smart). Reason: Less space, can not listen that loud anymore.Space: Approx. 370 sq.ft. The listening will happen at the couch and at the table. Now i might add another pair of one SL in the kitchen area down the road. But the question is if the the ones with the sub are better suited in such a scenario. How do the

Hi,I am looking for a suitable soundbar that can be connected to an amphifier / CD player / turntable. I am old-school, own more than 3000 CDs and 1000 Vinyl and even  though I don’t use any streaming services, an additional bluetooth option would be perfect to play mp3 from my phone / iPod. This combined with Atmos would be fantastic.Any recommendations are very much appreciated.Thanks!  

They always say that there are no silly questions, well here is my challenge.Just been reading up on the Sonos radio station, I already have an Apple Music subscription for me and my partner which we currently listen to on our current Sonos system, is there any advantages to paying for this service?  Do any of you guys have multiple streaming services?Cheers in Advance  Andy 

I have done loads of reading and know the generic answers but noticed the hive mind is really good on more specific scenarios too. So…. My daughter kindly bought me the world’s most expensive present… Graceland on vinyl which has got me experimenting with a turntable and buying more albums that force me to sit and listen. 🤷 😍I’m in a small British cottage with less than ideal places to put speakers. I bought a Five with the turntable.  On its own, it sounded nice but not better than the single One you can see on the shelf. I really can’t put my finger on why and tried re-doing Trueplay several times. I tried a stereo pair of Ones vs the Five and obviously that sounded great. I was all up for getting a Port and popping another One in the top left corner using a wall mount.Thing is I’ve been able to find a pair of Fives second hand for a great deal, albeit a bit more than I had planned.Although I know the Fives would be great in a big space would they actually be bad in a small space? 

Does the Playbar wall mount work with the Arc?

We are having an extension built with a sloped ceiling, the room will be about 9m x 4m. we want a tv on the wall at the far end on the picture below with a Beam and want some surround speakers; currently thinking ceiling speakers wired to an Amp. My questions are:Will ceiling speakers sound odd in a sloped ceiling?How do we position and configure the speakers to give ok stereo for music and ok surrounds for tv?Will 2 speakers be enough in that size room?  

Hi everyone, I’m new to this and have tried to find the answer elsewhere, but cannot fully satisfy myself that I’m finding the correct answer and would really appreciate any help you can offer.We are about to (potentially!) purchase the home cinema bundle  -  Arc, Subwoofer gen 3 and x2 One speakers. Now, from looking at other discussion boards on here I am already doubtful that we can arrange the speakers and possibly the subwoofer as planned…. we are planning to put cutout shelves in a stud wall that faces our sofa ( - it should never have been installed in the first place as they boxed in the emergency stopcock behind this, so needs some action anyway, but I digress..)  Now our original plan was to have the x2 Sonos Ones on the left and right upper shelves, with the arc on the same shelf as the tv and the subwoofer on the very bottom shelf below the TV as per my diagram that I drew for the builder (please excuse my drawing ‘skills’!)I just wanted to keep everything as neat as possib

Hi,so I’m kind of new in the Sonos environment. I already own a Sonos Symfoniks from IKEA.… now I wanna get a little more serious. I would like to integrate all of my media together.i got a turntable with rca connectors2 very nice Denon analog speakersan Lg Oled smart tv with HDMI arc or optical audio out. I think I can also stream the audio out via wifi from the tv.And will be streaming music from IOS mobile device.how do I link all of this together? Would a Sonos Connect be enough or I got to go with Sonos amp… I suppose I would need a Sonos beam as well for the tv…I know it’s a lot of infos but any advice is welcome. thanksmarc

Hi, if i may ask how does sonos sound quality and clarity compare with bose as i have been so used to bose over the years as had their products so really have no experinece with sonos?Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi,I was planning on buying an Arc to listen to music in my living room and to watch TV (65”). In other rooms that communicate with the living I could place other sonos speakers to play the same music.The only thing is that I realize I have no side walls in the living that the arc can use. On the left, the wall must be 8m away, on the other side 5m but the return path will be blocked. I suppose I would need front side speakers, but that is not supported  ifaik. Rear speakers will probably help a bit but not a lot I suppose.I could opt for a standard home theatre setup from another brand with separate speakers and connect a port to listen to music. I am however afraid that this home theatre will cause latency due to processing when the same audio is played in the kitchen or office space. I could open the arc, disconnect the side speakers and connect separate ones…not sure if it has been done before and it is a bit scary...Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks

hi, does anybody connect Sonos AMP + Bowers & Wilkins 705 Signature how about the sound?? I have Onkyo A-933 amp and with combination of B&W705. Now considering to change A-933 to AMP . Still A-933 is working well, I wonder if I should buy Sonos Port or Amp. I have an interesting to connect TV out and B&W for watching movie or else. So, I am thinking Amp is better than Port, but I wonder if the sound quality of combination of B&W and AMP.  Of course, sound quality is subjective matter,,,but I would like to know if someone had this experience.

Hello I have a sonos bar which has worked fine until optical sound broker. I have purchased a analogue to digital converter plugged it into my jack output on my tv bust sound does not workis there a better option or will this just not work 

For our basement TV room, which is quite long but narrow (see pictures), I intend to use a Beam 2 sound bar resting in front of the TV.  The smain viewing sofa is against the wall facing the TV, about 10 feet away.I am considering whether to supplement the bar with a pair of One SL speakers, which would rest on either side of the television.  But there wouldn’t be much separation between the Beam and the SL’s -- would that be a waste of time, or would the SL’s meaningfully enhance the stereo and overall quality of sound?  One option is to bore some holes in the dividers and place the speakers on the adjacent sections of the bookcase, providing more spatial separation for the three components.  Would this make a meaningful improvement?I don’t want to place the speakers back against the wall with the sofa -- no outlets there and too much clutter. Thanks for any guidance!Albert

Hello!  I’m looking to upgrade my Sonos-setup in my living room. My use: I mainly use my Apple TV to play music from Apple Music - I do not use Sonos built in feature for this. Other then that I look at series from Apple TV+, Netflix etc.  My setup in the living room today: Playbar + 2 Play:3 as surround speakers. This is connected to a Samsung Q70A-tv (2021) with an optical cable. The best solution: This would be just to get the Arc. Sadly, it seems to be pretty wide and I'm slightly worried that it wouldn't fit very good in my home. Alternative 1: Change my Playbar to Beam gen 2. How would the new Beam compare with my Playbar? Would I experience a huge improvement in sound quality and immersiveness with the Beam gen 2? Would Dolby Atmos work with the Beam gen 2 and the Play:3 as surround speakers?Alternative 2: Just add a Sub to my current setup? Would this be a more noticeable improvement than to change the Playbar? Thanks for all inputs!

I’m looking at expanding my Sonos system, with either a Roam or a Move speaker.I don’t want to hook up to Google or Apple, and want something that either doesn’t have a microphone or has the ability to disconnect or turn it off if it has one. Will either of these 2 speakers fit the bill?Also, it seem from the responses to my previous question, that I should be able to set this up independently from my other speakers. I’d like to be able to use this in the garage without inadvertently blasting the other speakers in the family room, so I’d prefer to set this up on its own system. 

 Hi.  I’ve just had an LG C1 series OLED TV wall-mounted on a full-motion bracket in my living room (see pictures below), and I have ordered a Sonos ARC to mounts below it — but I’m having second thoughts about my decisions.1) The TV is a little bigger than I’d like for the space (though we’re going to try watching a movie on it tonight for the first time so the jury will be out). My main reason for choosing the 55” instead of a 48” was that I wanted to get the best sound solution, and the Arc appeared to be the best product for home theater (and I love my Play:5’s).2) Doing some further reading, I suddenly realized that my very open, very TALL living room setting may not even allow me to enjoy all the benefits of an Arc sound bar, as I won’t get the vertical sound bouncing off my ceiling? Would that be true?3) So I am weighing the option of swapping the TV for a 48” version and buying the Sonos BEAM Gen3 instead.4) In either case, my intention is to pair my two Play:5 speakers (which

I subscribed Amazon music, and evaluating Apple Music at the moment.In my living room I have 2 play:1 + Sub (gen 1) . I read a lot about streaming quality , and I wonder if to better use the improved quality of Amazon Hd or Apple lossless and Airplay 2 , the One will work better than the play :1 , or if both will be capped at the same level of bits/hzThanks !!Giovanni 

Looking at putting together a Sonos system for my loft area TV. Thinking of gen 2 sound bar, with sub woofer, 2 in wall speakers for surround and 2 ceiling speakers for rear surround. Does this make sense, if yes, what is needed to set up (obviously speakers, how many amps, other?), if not, what would best set up be?

Hi guys looking for a little help here. I have an old ZP 90 that has stopped working, I tried to do the upgrade and purchase a new port. I was halfway through the upgrade and had to leave the page before completing sale. When I logged back in to complete the purchase it showed that unit was already upgraded but I hadn’t completed order. I’m now trying to reorder and arrange delivery but can’t cancel previous upgrade and restart. I talked to someone in support who helped with another issue but couldn’t help with this order. I’ve called sales and also emailed them a week ago but still no luck. Today on trying to contact sales again Message says unavailable try support online! Cheers Shane 

Does anybody know how to or have experience in deciding how many speakers you need for a specific amount of room space. Speakers/square meter.I am deciding for our restaurant and would appreciate the help if someone has this experience of decision making.Thank you.
