What to get

Hello all.  I’m working to rip an old non-functional crestron system out and simplify.  What we haverack with 3x gen1 sonos zone units, ie unamplified devices that go into a crestron audio matrix.  Plan to remove all of this and replace with 3x of the newer ‘AMP’ models.  These run to 3 speaker zones.2x Direct TV receivers in the rack, routed through crestron.  Looking for options here.  Willing to move DTV boxes to each TV, but then how to get audio into Sonos.  ‘Port’ units?  What if I put a soundbar in at the TV and used that for input, can sonos take input on the sound bar and distribute it to the other speakers etc?  ie, DTV->Arc->AMP1 and AMP2 and a Sonos One?Alternatively, keep DTV in the rack and figure out how to stream the video to each TV.  Can’t figure out if there is an ‘on net’ streamer for DTV i can use or not.  If they are in the rack, can I double duty the AMPs as inputs?  For instance, DTV1→AMP1 then stream anywhere.  And.. if so… can the AMP’s input be separate

Hi AllI have a dedicated home theatre room in our home and am setting up the surround sound with sonos.i will buy an arc, 2 play 1’s for rears and the sub.  The room has a cat5 connection to a router which connects to the modem.I am wondering how best to set up the wifi in that room as a dedicated new network just for the home theatre components.  I dont want it to connect to the rest of the home.I am not very savy when it comes to wifi.  I was thinking of setting up a WAP in the room which connects to the router and will broadcast a dedicated wifi signal : named Theatre room.  Then have all the sonos products in the room use this wifi network.  Will that work? any recommendations on which WAP to use?  is there a better setup that i should consider? Thanks for your help.

I have upgraded my TV sound system and now have a redundant playbar and a pair of play 1s. I have configured as a surround sound system in another room.Is this the best way of using them for audio? 

Wanting to create a mini home theatre but I'm not sure how to connect the Sonos amp to the arc. I know I can group them through the app, but I'm looking to sync them like the sub syncs to the arc. Any tips?

I’m looking to get a subwoofer for my beam gen 2, but I keep reading about the mini sub Sonos will allegedly release later this year, according to ARS Technica:https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2022/08/want-a-cheaper-sonos-subwoofer-youll-have-to-wait-even-longer/This system will be placed in a room that’s about 10’x10’, so the gen 3 at full price seems overkill, but what are my options? If I get a used gen 2 at a good price, then maybe it’ll be worth it.  I’d like to get a mini sub version, but who knows when or even if it’ll actually release. What do you all suggest? 

I have set up an TV in my bedroom. The room is large and I would like speakers closer to my bed so I don’t wake up chidren. Can I use a Ray soundbar turned low/off and have two One speakers next to the bed (left and right)? Thank you

HiLong story short. I have a Gen 1 Connect. I’m about to upgrade my HiFi system (speakers and amp) and hoping to improve my streaming source (currently using Spotify) to CD quality using TIDAL, Apple or Amazon Music. I may not notice the difference, but want to at least give it a try.The Gen 1 Sonos Connect obviously isn’t suitable for CD quality streaming, so I’m thinking I should upgrade to a Sonos Port and move to the S2 app. I’ve been hesitant to upgrade due to the mixed reviews over the past few of years, and am curious to know if there have been any improvements with the sound quality issues some people have had (either from the unit itself or in the app) since it’s launch 3 years ago. The sales guys in the hifi stores here in Sydney like to push the BlueSound Node, but I’m already invested in Sonos, and happy with it.I’m currently using RCA cables on the Connect and thinking I would possibly use the digital coax on the Port if this would work better with the Amp (Cambridge Audio

Good afternoon, I am a little informed regarding an order that I placed on Monday the 11th, select free shipping, which had a delivery commitment date of 4 business days, which have already passed and as of today, Saturday the 16th, I have not even received the tracking number of my order I am a little dissatisfied with the service.

I’m about to purchase a Sonos set up and wanted to check my thinking. I want the Beam (2) and I can connect it to two One SLs for surround sound on the TV.If the TV is off and I ask Alexa to play some music, will the Ones both play the music as well or just the Beam?If so will the sound balance out? The TV will be in the corner and the Ones on either side of the couch facing the TV. It’s a fairly large room too.

Hi all, While these are probably basic questions, I’m new to most of the technologies I’m asking about so It’s a bit overwhelming to search for info when you’re not familiar with the terminology and products 🙁. My current setup consists of older LCD connected to Apple TV and a Denon receiver which is connected to a set of regular speakers. I want to migrate to Smart TV, ditch the Apple TV, and replace the Receiver and speakers with two Sonos Five in the living room with the option of later adding subwoofer, and several One’s spread around the rooms in the house. All speakers (or at least the ones in the living room) will be connected via ethernet. My use cases:Connect my Roon (which is running on a NAS) to Sonos. I’ve already checked that this is possible (with few limitations). Have the option to connect the Smart TV to the speakers in the living room but have it trivial to switch between sound from the TV and speakers. I just put up a tv on my outdoor patio. Currently there are two speakers mounted on the ceiling. These speakers are hard wired to my living room but not plugged in. So I have an issue with a tv located outside and speakers wired to the inside and can’t get the hdmi to the amp. What is the best recommendation for using those speakers with an amp or just buying new Sonos speakers for outdoors?     

I am interested in purchasing a turntable.  I currently have a sonos sound system.  What is required with a sonos turntable?  Does it connect via wi-fi?

Hi, I have a few Sonos Ports to control in ceiling speakers in different parts of the house. Right now I have a few small amps but would like to consolidate that into one multi zone amp that can control 4 different inputs and outputs independently. Any recommendations on an amp?

Hello Sonos community,  I would like to connect my video projector to a Sonos device, the Sono Beam Gen 2 seems most appropriate with the HDMI. Anyone already tried ? If not, do you recommend another product?  Thank you for your reply and help ;)

I am going to set up a secondary multi room system using Sonos One SL in 3 or 4 rooms.  My main system is a Lyngdorf system which is not multi room. I need to decide whether to buy new Sonos One SL’s or for half the price I could buy secondhand Sonos One (Gen 1).  What are the main differences between them ? It is possible that one of the SL’s could be replaced by a Sonos Five so the same question about Five / Play 5 Thanks

My main system is in my living room and is not a multi room system and I now want a multi room system for 3 rooms in the rest of the house. I am thinking of buying three One SL’s but need to understand  if they will do all I want.  I have a subscription to Qobuz and a sizeable collection of flac tracks on my PC and want to be able to access these. I also want to be able to play podcasts from my IPad and also listen to radio stations.  I want to create playlists which can be accessed by any speaker I want to be able to play something different through each speaker at the same time.   Will 3 One SL’s be able to do this or will I need to buy a Port as well

Hello. So I currently have a beam and 2x play ones in my living room. My question is a straight choice between adding a sub the existing set up or swapping the beam for the new arc which I believe is alot more powerful. Either option would be similar in price.If anyone has any thoughts or experience with this any input would be greatly received. Thanks in advance. 

HiI know there have multiple questions similar to mine.  But, not quite the same. So here goes.I have an ageing Onkyo TX-NR1009 AV Receiver and KEF KHT3005SE 7.2 Egg Speakers and wireless subs.  I love my system and it was expensive at the time. In our old house I had wired in and it was sweet. However, we have now moved and It’s pretty much impossible for me run cables to rear positions.  So I’m thinking I maybe buy Sonos to provide coverage to the hard to reach spots.  The way I see it I have a few options.  Even though I don’t know if they are technically possible  They are in my order of preference.Buy Sonos and incorporate it into my existing setup to provide the rear speakers and other awkward positions.  But also use Sonos to playback through my existing speakers Buy Sonos and keep it separate from my existing for either music or TV only. Don’t buy Sonos and find a way to make existing rear speakers wireless - any ideas ? Buy Sonos and dispose of my existing hardware - rather no

I have a Beam 2 which is connected to a Samsung QLED TV.  I also have two B&O Beolab 6000 speakers which, using a dongle,  I can connect via Bluetooth to the TV. The overall sound is actually better using the Beam but I’d like to connect them via Bluetooth to the Beam and use them as surround speakers. Does anyone know if that’s possible or can I only do that using Sonos speakers? 

Hey guys, I am currently making progress in our remodel and I wanted to double check my sonos planning before buying all the components.In pink you will see all Sonos equipment I am planning for. For context I have a wemax nova 4k short throw and a 100” ALR screen, maybe upgrading to 120” 2 subwofers on each side of the screen facing the couch 1 sonos arc sound bar 2 front ceiling speakers 2 back ceiling speakers 2 ceiling speakers on top of the dining/pool table I want to confirm I will need, 3 amps? 1 for each pair of ceiling speakers? Best, 

I have two rooms next to each other and I'm going to put a Sonos Beam (Gen2 ) in each of those rooms. Each soundbar will be connected to a tv.1.Is it possible to pair the two soundbars and listen to the same music?2.Can I hear what one of the televisions gives on both soundbar at the same time?3.Putting the TV in mute mode, can I listen to music from the app and the TV broadcast continues to play?

Hi! I am using playbar and sub with two play 3s as a rear. Movies are  excellent but muaic is lacking. The 3's and sub sound really good but the fact they are behind my seating position puts me in a "inverted" sweet spot. Granted, i do not have the urge to listen to muaic in stereo ofren, but still i like to enjoy it from time to time.What would you do of the folowing:1. Buy a pair of ones and put as rears and.move the play 3s on either side of the tv and use them for.music2. Buy a pair of ones and put them on either side of tv and use them for music3.
