What to get

Currently use Sonos in rooms where I can easily access them.Am looking to mount new speakers about 8ft up in close to ceiling for a sunroom.  Although I can always get a ladder if there was an issue, ideally am looking to have these mounted and connected to power and then remote control them from Sonos App/remotely.Thoughts?  Recommendations?  2x Era 100 or 300 better than a single sound bar?Thanks in advance

Good morning, I have a beam gen 1 with mini sub and two symfonisk ikea etagere in surround. I would like to exchange the beam gen1 for a sonos beam gen2 or arc to enjoy dolby atmos and truehd, is there much difference on the sound quality between dolby digital 5.1 and dolby digital plus, dolby digital true HD and atmos please? my config 55 inch tv Living room 30m² length 14 meters width 4 meter sofa distance from tv about 3 meters

Just purchased the arc for infront of our TV that is in a high ceiling living room.  I want something behind the couch; however the open floor plan/kitchen will limit me to ERA 100s.  There are however two inwall old speakers above the couch and I just saw the amp and inwall set up.  Can I combine the amp and arc?  Will that give a good surround sound?   plan for the subwoofer down the line at some point as well. 

Hello -I’m moving to a new house that has the internet connection and router/wireless in a basement utility room.  As I recall, one of the Sonos components has to be hardwired into the router.  But, I don’t really want to put a speaker in a utility room.  What product do I use to connect to the router? Thanks,Todd

We plan to purchase Sonos Amp, if it will do what we need...  Our house came with a Russound SDB-6.1 speaker selector, wired to 6 in-ceiling single-speakers indoors and outside.  I have no idea brand, type, or specs of the speakers.We want to get rid of a stack of outdated equipment and get a simple solution to stream music and audio content from laptops, ipad, and/or phones.  Can we use a Sonos Amp attached to one of the 2 input ports?  We understand that we will still need to manually use the speaker selector to turn the 6 speakers on/off, and to adjust relative volume of one speaker to another.  That said, could we adjust the Sonos volume output remotely, and wouldn’t that translate (in layman’s terms) to “more or less sound going from Sonos into Russound, equals more or less sound going into every speaker”? Thanks for helping an audio-amateur!

Has the Sonos One SL got the same increased memory and faster processor present in the Sonos One Voice Version Generation 2? Is it best to stereo pair a Sonos One SL with a Sonos One Voice speaker - or stereo pair two Sonos One Voice Speakers together? Is the Sonos One SL being discontinued?

Hi everyone,I am new in this community and i would ask you, that are more expert than me, how to create a system audio, using sonos, for a restaurant that has multiple room and external space.This is the structure:External space (200mq) ----- main hall (150mq) ---- secondary hall (50mq)I was thinking to put a Sonos Move in the external space, in the middle of the space (no cable).Two Sonos ONE SL in the main hall and a sonos one SL in the secondary hall.Between the external speaker and the main hall’s speaker will be more than 30m, same with the one in the secondary hall.I would like to play the same music in all the spaces.The audio source can be in the main hall.Can i group, using my WIFI, all the devices and play the same music? (the source can be a phone or must to be connected to spotify?)In case the WIFI is not working, can i connect the device between them using some chain link system, maybe based on bluetooth or wlan?Thanks

Hi!I’m currently looking at different options for setting up a sound system for a hostel. It involves installing several speakers to cover a rather large (fully open & connected) common area, including a reception, café and dining hall. Total probably 7 speakers, plus or minus. (either Era 100, One SL, or a combination. Recommendations between these two are also greatly appreciated!). All controlled with an iPad in our reception/café. I’m finding it a bit difficult to figure out just by the information online, so I’m wondering if anyone knows whether or not a Sonus system could satisfy the following example use cases?:) Three specifically selected speakers playing the same music, the rest are silent.  All speakers playing the same music, but with the ability to adjust volume per speaker. Three speakers playing the same music, and a fourth one playing its own music from a different source. (could also be from a different iPad, if that is needed to work as a separate sound source). O

I’d like to add occasional music capability to a fairly large (450 sq ft) room, 15’ x 30’. It would likely only be occasionally used. Does anyone have any thoughts on a Playbar vs. a pair of Play 3 speakers connected in stereo?(We have a pair of connected Play 5’s in a smaller room that are used daily, the primarily listening space, and a Playbar connected to a television in a medium sized room that’s used for both music and the TV.)Thank you!

I need to add ambient music throughout a 4 floor retail space. All floors are open floorplan and around 2500sqft. Needs to be as simple as possible. I was thinking 4x Sonos Era 100 per floor, one in each corner near the ceiling pointing towards the center, mounted with the Era 100 mount.Each floor will have its own wifi access point. What would be the best option for networking ands controlling all the speaker groups from one Ipad?Thanks!    

Hi all,My house currently have a pair of ceiling speakers above my sitting area across the TV location, so it got me thinking what the best Sonos home theater set up to buy.Arc, Sub and 2x Era 300. This is the latest recommendation from Sonos, but it won’t use the speaker that’s already in place which seems to be a waste, and I wonder if the overhead sound by reflection would be as good as actual ceiling speaker. It also sucks that I can’t add an Amp since it exceeds the maximum number of speaker in a Sonos set up Arc and Sub, then add 1x Amp for ceiling speakers, and install 2x in-wall speaker paired with 1x Amp. Does this provide Atmos rendering? I don’t see in any documentation on whether this is more than what the Sonos system support. Would this be better than Option 1?Thanks for the feedback!

Hello EveryoneI know I broached this subject early on during the initial release of the Era 300 series, so please forgive any redundancy. Let’s begin...IMO, the Five as a single speaker or in stereo pair is better than the Era 300 in the same configurations; but not by much. I was able to do an extensive A/B comparison in the same room with my Five’s and Era 300’s. The Era 300’s have since been moved to another room.My music preference is smooth jazz as I prefer instruments for making comparisons versus having vocals disrupt (color) the mid-range. I recenly purchased the Sonos 2 Amp and the Port. I have a house that is wired with speakers that are driven through a Insignia 200w receiver/amp combo. My goal was to connect my turntable to the amp and connect 2 speakers direclty to the amp to get the best sound quality. I also wanted to be able to stream the music playing on my turntable to my Insignia receiver/amp and have the option of playing the music throughout the house. The rep at my local stereo store recomended that I purchase the Amp, plug the turn table into the amp along with the 2 speakers and then purchase the Port and hook the Ports up to my receiver/amp using the AV ports on boat. I connected everything and have beautiful music playing throu the Amp however I am not able to get the music to stream from the Amp to the Port to the receiver/amp. I am beginning to wonder if this is even a possible scenario. I have both the Port and Amp showing on my Sonos App and I don’t see anything that woulf be in the way except the A

Is anyone in the know able to shed some light on this issue for me, as sonos support have been no help. I have an eligible product in my sonos system , that has meant I am eligible for the 30% discount under the upgrade programme. I was testing out my basket to see which items I could apply the discount to. On first attempt the discount from the upgrade programme seemed to auto apply. However I then emptied my cart. Since then the discount is not auto applying and I cannot see a discount code on my upgrade page. Even though it says the product is eligible and the discount is activated.Has anyone else experienced this issue please? Sonos support have been no help and just keep telling me they don’t know why it isn’t auto applying. Thanks is advance.

I Like to buy a Beam gen 1. But can I connect my One & One SL, and if so can I use them both as home cinema system as in just listening to my music?  Im sort of on budget, that’s why I’m thinking bout buying a refurbished Beam but it’s a gen 1.  Or would it be better to just buy a new Ray. Hi - thank you in advance for your help.  New to this so really looking for the expertise of the group.  We are adding a kitchen addition and covered outdoor deck to our home.  The electrician suggested 2 Sonos ceiling speakers for each area. He also suggested 2 Sonos receivers (I’m guessing he is referring to the amplifiers?). My questions:does this equipment sound correct?  Why would we need 2 receivers? if we purchased just 1 receiver and 4 ceiling speakers, do we have the option of turning the deck ones off if we are not out there? Can we listen to 2 different sources in the 2 different areas at the same time (parents mysic on kitchen, kids music on deck?) can we add additional stand alone Sonos speakers in the future for the living room for example or out in the yard?thank you very much!  Very excited about this 

Hi, which of these is better for just music?Sub mini + Beam Gen2 + 2x Era 100 as surround rear speakers. Sub mini + Beam Gen2 + 2x Era 300 as surround rear speakers. 2x Era 300 as stereo pair. 2x Era 100 as stereo pair.At the moment I am using number one from the above list and I am happy with the spatial audio but wondering if option 3 would be as good or better or the same?Also have read that some say 2x Era 100 as a stereo pair is pretty good, but without the spatial audio effect of course.

I am setting up audio in my office mostly listen to Jazz in that space, it is a small room 120 sq feet. For about the same price I can put 2 era 300’s or 2 100’s with a submini. I was thinking the 100’s with the submini would free the 100’s to do what they do best and the submini will fill bottom end? I dont really like the way spatial audio sounds on a lot of tracks so that is less of a concern for me. Thoughts? 

I currently have an arc,gen3 sub,and play 1’s as surrounds. I plan to move the play1’s to the bedroom for music and I had planned to buy the era 300 for surround replacement. After hearing that the front driver is not working when in surround mode I am thinking of bypassing on those speakers. Now I am thinking about the era 100 for surround speakers. I listen to music around 20% of the time with my current setup and it sounds good but with the 300’s I am reading that music doesn’t sound good unless you’re listening to atmos music. So I was thinking that if it doesn’t sound that good with regular stereo music then it might not sound good for movies that aren’t Dolby Atmos. In fact with non Dolby atmos movies two of the drivers wouldn’t be working (front and upfiring)? That’s why I was thinking I should buy a pair of era 100’s for surrounds. All the drivers would be activated 100% of the time. I realize I wouldn’t be enveloped in a spatial sound bubble when playing Dolby atmos material b
