What to get

I’m wanting to get my daughter and son in law something to start their home system with. Something they can use now and will go with the whole system.  What would everyone suggest? 

Hi, new Sonos enthusiast here, I never owned Sonos products before so I have no experience of any of them - yet!I’m looking for a setup for my medium living room + open kitchen, I’d say about 25m².This will be for music only, no home theater, no podcast No specific type of music I listen to a lot of different genres, so I mostly need a good balance, but I don’t want weak bass either I don’t need a lot of power though as I’m in an apartment and my neighbors won’t let me forget about them lolI’ve ruled-out the Era 300 as I don’t need Dolby + not really suited to my use-case because I need my music to fill a room where I’ll be moving a lot.So it comes down to either two Era 100, or one single Five (I don’t have the budget for two).Which would you recommend, and why?Thanks!

Hi, as at dec 2023, what are the generations/models/versions of the amp? I want to buy a new amp but want to make sure it’s the latest one, so are we on gen 2 or gen 3 etc? thanks

Dear all, I´m searching for a (perfect) systemmainly for stereo music. I use SPOTIFY and therefore Dolby-Atmos is no topic for me, at least at the moment. It´s a nice-to-have function to be future-proof, but does not have the 1st priority. sometimes home cinema, but not very often. However, as for Dolby Atmos, it´s a nice-to-have function.There are these options:2x Era 100 + Sub Mini or  2x Era 300 (+ perhaps later a Sub (3. Gen) or newer) or (perhaps 2x Era 100 + 1x Era 300)2x Five are no real option, because those are too big (box size) for the room and furniture)The living room has 32 sqm, the kitchen 9,5 sqm. There is a sliding door between the living room and the kitchen which is open most of the time. Most times music is played at moderate loudness (background music), not very loud. Is it correct that 2x Era 300 are not the best option for stereo music becasue the Era 300 are made for Dolby Atmos and not for stereo and that 2x Era 100 are the better option for stereo music? Sonos do I buy another Play 3 to be paired and buy a Sub mini for best sound.

I wan to get into vinyl and could use some advice on the best Sonos setup. After some initial research, it looks like a solid starting point would be the Sonos Five paired with a quality turntable.Currently, my setup includes four Sonos One SLs (wall-mounted) — one in the living room corner above the TV, two in the dining room, one in the kitchen — and a Play:1 in the office on a different floor.Here are the options I'm considering: Purchase a new Sonos Five along with a Pro-Ject T1 (potential savings if bought separately rather than direct from Sonos). Explore a second-hand Sonos 5 (gen2) along with a Pro-Ject T1 (or similar) Consider a second-hand Connect paired with a Pro-Ject T1 and continue using my existing One SLs and Play:1 (is this wise or possible) Additionally, I'm thinking about adding a Sonos Beam to mount under the TV (not right away).If not a Sonos Beam, would I be able to use the Five, move it and connect it to the TV on the occasional “movie night”?I'd appreciate y

Arc + sub vs 2 pieces of five, for listening to music, which is best?I just got a Arc + sub for my living room. Before i got a Amp + sub and 2 peices of not active speakers.my first thought is the my old set up was better for music.would it be better for me to go for 2 pieces of five instead of using Arc + sub?i dont care that much, which is best for TV and movies.

Hi All,I currently have a Beam (Gen 2) and am looking at upgrading the system with either 2 off Era 100 speakers (to be used as rears) or a mini wireless subwoofer...eventually I will buy both, but which should I buy first to get the best possible enhancement to sound when watching TV primarily, music and then films?Any advice will be very much appreciated. 

Hi, we have recently moved into a property that has veiling speakers throughout the house (they seem to be in nearly every room!) and external one also. All are hardwired in and areas where it’s designated for a TV seem to have amplifiers and there is 3 boxes wired up in the mechanical room that I believe are related to the speaker system.I’ve not even tried to get anything working with the gear that is there currently. I’d like to get this working with sonos but have no idea what would be needed and how I’d go about it.I’d like some advise on what Sonos products I’d need and then how I’d go about getting this working.Thank you! 

I am in the initial planning stages of a system for a new home currently under construction - more on that later.  Right now, quick question - If I have a Sonos Amp powering 4 ceiling speakers, can I wirelessly connect a Sonos Sub to that as well?  So my Amp powers the 4 ceiling speakers and the powered Sub connects wirelessly and works as well? Or  - would it need to be wired to the Amp RCA? Or - Am I better powering 2 ceiling speakers and a passive dual-voice coil sub in this zone? I am concerned that ceiling speakers alone will not give the depth and bass that a sub will add. I am brand new to Sonos - don’t own anything yet, but not new to home audio.

I was about to buy a Sonos Five speaker (discounted now) because we’re moving and I will switch to Sonos. But I just found out, the speaker was released in 2020. I don’t need it immediately and I am willing to wait a few months. Haven’t found any info online either if a new version is in the pipeline. Of course there is the ERA 300 but since I’m listening to non Dolby Atmos music most of the time, the Five might still be the better choice?  Also: I will connect my Technics SL-1200 and listen to records.

Hi there I am trying to set up some sound for a retail store.  The store is about 50m2 (500 sqft). It’s a dispensary so I def. want to create a vibe in there but not blast it super loud.  Behind the counter there is a flat surface with plenty of space to put a record player and speakers. Am I better off buying two fives or 4 smaller ones with a sub ? How would I connect the vinyl player to the system ? I know it can connect to the Fives, can it also connect to smaller speakers ?  Since it is a retail store with rotating staff I want something fool-proof, so a wired solution between record player and speaker is preferred over anything Bluetooth.  Thanks for any help ! 

What would be the best Sonos set up for a listening party in this space outdoors 19’x11’x10ft - three open sides?  Anywhere from 4 to 8 people.  We like it loud, but nice.  Any thoughts? 

I need help please. I am in the UK with a UK credit card. I am trying to buy a Sonos speaker for my son who lives in Austria. Using the UK site it appears that there is no shipping option overseas. Hello. Perhaps forthcoming Sonos user here that is tinkering with the idea of replacing my Yamaha ecosystem with Sonos. But, before I hit the buy button, I’d like to get some insights.I’m considering to buy a Sonos Arc + Sonos Sub (gen3) + two Sonos Era 100 (placed behind sofa for TV-watching) to get a decent surround sound when watching movies and whatnot.But – can I expect that setup to perform well (or even awesome?) when I decide to listen just to music? Is there a simple way to switch to stereo listening (which I assume the app can help me with), and can I expect the audio to be … well … ‘pristine’?Me and my wife talked the other day about replacing our sound system, and also getting a vinyl player to be able to listen to our old records, just like we did in the 80:s/90:s, and I guess that’s possible as well. But the important question is regarding what I can expect of music listening in this sonos-setup, especially compared to what I’d get with a dedicated music-listening-setup.T

Hi,I have a sonos system made up of ARC + sub (gen3) I use to watch TV. It works well I don’t need to set up a 5.1 system. What I need is spreading the music better  in my room (40m2) when I use the system to listen music. How I can get this target?… adding 2 one SL and putting them in asymmetrical way in 2 opposites corner could be helpful? or in alternative adding 1 ERA 100 could be sufficient? or other options?Thanks for your kind advices!!

Hello, I am trying to establish a limited setup on a deck which is located outside of a living room. The deck has a new smart TV (TCL) which is entirely wireless. The deck has 4 in-ceiling wired speakers and two under-deck speakers facing the pool. All of the speaker wires go to an AV cabinet in the adjacent living room. What I want is to be able to watch TV and project the sound through all of the wired speakers and/or to have the TV silent or off and have music playing. How would I accomplish this with my current setup?If I hook a beam up to the TV and put an amp inside connected to the speakers, would that accomplish my goal? Would I need another amp to establish two zones (in-ceiling vs. under-deck) If I’m totally off, please educate me!

Hi all,I have a question. We are constructing a new house which has a medium/large kitchen area. I want a stereo setup in this kitchen. The speakers will have to be placed close to the ceiling (cannot do in-ceiling), the ceiling is quite high at 3,30m.I’m considering a pair of ERA 100’s (mounted at around 3,20m height) combined with a Sub Gen3. However, I cannot find any info online about this setup. Is this not a suitable setup? Or will it work? Or what other setup would you advise?Thanks in advance. Job

Hi, sorry about my english.I have Sonos Beam gen2, Sub Mini and 2 rear Sonos One Sl.My room is not too big, and I am in love with my set up.I am thinking about upgrade something. Do not now where i will find more improvement, going for an Arc or replacing the 2 rear One sl with 2 Era 300.I read about people can not hear dialogs as well as it must be with the ARC.Do Sonos use to made offers better on Christmas than Black Friday  for Era 300 (15% off with renove plan now) or ARC (now 799 Euros?)
