What to get

Hey everyone... I used to have 2 play ones till i gifted one to my parents. (only one left) ;) so whats sounds better as the title asks? Im filling the sound of a living room with is 30' x 18' and a dining room of 18 x18' one speaker would be in dining room the other in living room... this also fills the entire main floor like kitchen and hallway.... just wanted to know what would sound better? Two Play 5 or two pay 1 and sub

I've recently purchased the Soundbar. I want to build on it now. This would be for TV viewing and music. I've been reading the reviews and will likely stay away from the Play 3. So, would you do a SUB for sure? If I did a SUB, then thinking 2 Play 1's. Or, should I skip the SUB and do maybe 1 Play 5? This is a downstairs open living room (with TV), dining room, kitchen area. It's about 1300 sf. I know I'll add Play 1's later for upstairs bedrooms. Thoughts?

Hi All, I love Sonos and have been working towards expanding my current set up in my new house. I've gone from a flat to a 3 bed house and need music to envelop my living space accordingly. I currently have a Playbar with Sub and 2 Play 1's as surrounds in the lounge. I want some speakers for the kitchen/diner and also the bedroom. I was planning to do this slowly and pick up a piece or two over time but now that Sonos plan to hike the prices up in 8 days I am taking the plunge and getting the credit card out. I just need some advice on what would best suit my circumstances as i'm going in circles. So I was originally thinking a pair of 1's for the kitchen, then I toyed with getting 1 Play 5, but what about a pair of Play 3's... I can't seem to decide. The room is 6m x 2.5m and whatever I get will be on a shelving unit at one end of the room. The bedroom would be fine with one or two Play 1's so that's no problem. Ok, I'm interested in setting up a SONOS sound system throughout my house. This is what I would like to accomplish. Living Room: A good speaker connected to the TV. Which also could be used as a speaker for music from the SONOS system. Game Room: A speaker connected to the SONOS System. Backyard: A speaker connected to the SONOS System. One thing is that I would like to have at least one speaker be able to connect to any music device and not use the SONOS app. I want friends to be able to come over and use their phone, or a DJ to use their system to connect to the SONOS system. This is what I think I will need. Living Room: SONOS sound bar. Game Room and Backyard: One Play one, and one Play 5. The play 5 is necessary as it is the only device able to connect to using a 3.5mm jack. Does this sound correct to you all? Thanks.

Contemplating purchasing a Sonos system. Have complete Apple system including AirPlay. Sonos documentation says I need to have AirPort Express (entry level unit); I have AirPort Time Capsule (the premium unit) already installed. Can I use my Time Capsule to establish the AirPlay connection? Or do I need a separate (and redundant) AirPort Express?

Please anyone thinking of buying sonos please don't make the same mistake I did! Play bar went dead in less then 2 years. They only have one year warranties. I spent $800 some dollars on this thing and now it's a dead unit! They offered to replace it for $200!! What a joke!!! Seen around the Internet a lot of people are having the same issues! Please don't buy this people!

The Apple store only seems to offer Sonos Controller version 7.2 that requires IOS8. This will not run on IOS6.Where can I obtain IOS6 version download?

Music only. Current set-up 2 paired play1's + sub. Big room & thinking of adding another play1 or a play5 at opposite end of room. Maybe play5 better because of extra bass. Any thoughts please?

Looking for advice: for the cost of two Play 5s could I get better sound out of a Connect Amp and speaker combo? I don't need the flexibility to move the speakers into different rooms, I just want the convenience of Sonos streaming with the best sound. Thanks in advance.

I've decided to switch my current audio system for a sonos multi-room setup, and I'm having a hard time deciding which speakers I need. Hoping some of you can chime in with some advice. Layout: I'm hoping to fill my living room, kitchen, and another sitting room off the other side of my kitchen. The floor plan I want to fill makes an "L" shape...walk through back door of my house into the sitting room that opens into kitchen - turn right out of kitchen into main living room. Very open floor plan. The sitting room measures 14x10 (feet). Kitchen measures 20x10. Living room measures 15x15. Additional factors: My turntable/vinyl is in the sitting room. I'd like to be able to connect it to the Sonos system and play in multiple rooms. It's a solid 80s technics unit that is currently connected to a receiver and two floor speakers. My tv is set up in the living room. I'd like to be able to play it through the Sonos system in that room and also be able to play music through

Are there major functional differences between the current version of the Connect:Amp (ZP-120) and the prior version (ZP-100) that I should be aware of? I'll be using the amp to power two outdoor speakers and can pick up a ZP-100 for around $280 (vs $475 for the ZP-120) - would it be silly to go with the older model? I'll be building out a full home Sonos system over the next couple years and want this to integrate into that. Thanks!

Recently converted from Comcast to Att Uverse. My Play 1 device worked with Comcast but not with Att Uverse. It seems to be something with the wireless connection Thoughts, suggestions please

Will Seagate Wireless Plus 1TB work as a streaming media with Sonos Connect

Any advice on installing a SUB in an entertainment unit? Had a suggestion that the bottom could be cut out to let the SUB sit on the floor. Another was to lay the SUB flat with the floor of the unit cut out larger than the speaker section. Though the SUB looks great we are looking to hide all the equipment in a unit. Any thoughts appreciated?

I'm looking for a home-office stereo solution in the 1000$ range. I wonder if anyone tried this and can help me choose between 2 x Sonos Play 5 (in stereo mode) and a system using a Sonos Connect Amp + standmount speakers of about 500$. If the latter... what speakers to use to better the Play5s? Thanks

I have a router and 3 extenders across my house, so my wifi is excellent all over the house and yard.  If I hard use a Bridge/Boost or hardwire 1 speaker in, is that hardwired component the only one that pushes out Sonosnet?  If so, I would think my own wifi network if probably stronger / more reliable than the one source for Sonosnet.  Toughts?   BTW, I plan on adding over 5 speakers, and a home theater setup.  Will I be forced to use Sonosnet?  

The only thread I can see with a Sonos answered comment lists 4 year old American TVs I can't even find in stock. Surely you are constantly testing new TVs ? I really want a new TV but can't pick as I'm worried it won't work right, is there nothing in the TV specs to look for ? If it says ARC HDMI does that mean it will work ?

Is there any word on when Sonos will come to Google home?

My leaving room size is approximate 700 Sq Ft, is One Play 5 is enough or i should think of 2?

I am remodeling my house and putting in 12 zones. I am considering two basic approaches and would appreciate input on my choice: 1) Purchase a multi-channel amplifier. Connect amp to speakers in each zone. So speaker cables would run from the AV closet to each of the sets of speakers in each room. Connect 12 Sonos Connects to the multichannel amp. These Sonos Connects could stay in the AV closet. OR 2) Purchase 12 Sonos Connect AMPS and connect the AMPS to the speakers in each room. I would wire most of the AMPS to the network for improved signal strength. The Sonos AMPS could be kept in the AV closet also. Which is best? I'm focused more on music quality, functionality, signal reliability etc.. Cheers, Andrew

Is there any difference (or advantage) in using a Boost instead a Wi-Fi Extender? I've recently faced some problems with four Play 1 units, grouped to play music simultaneously from an online music station in a Gym. The music turned off irregularly, but after having set-up a simple Wi-Fi Extender, connected with a cable to one Play 1, the system turned out to be stable.

Just bought a new property and having all cabling re-done, so wanted to get the music system installed at the same time. I currently own 2 x Play 1 only with a view to buying additional kit based on recommendations. I have 3 kids rooms which I intend to use a Play 1 in each for, that's the easy part! I have a small cinema room that will require 5:1, I have 2 bathrooms that I want to fit appropriate ceiling speakers in and a ceiling speaker in the kitchen. I also want to install an outdoor speaker. I have 2 x Wharfdale free standing wired speakers I would like to use in the cinema room. I will have a comms cabinet with network switch fitted in the loft. I'm guessing I can just use a connect in the loft with my current amplifier, but not sure how to use the bathrooms individually through the Sonos amp - please help lol!! Greetings, Looking to make the conversion to a whole home sonos system. Before I shell out the big bucks I have a question on delay. The Goal: getting TV audio from Direct TV to lip sync with outdoor speakers (I want to watch my outdoor TV with audio coming over my patio speakers vs the tv's speakers) I would be purchasing a Connect to broadcast my TV audio from living room receiver to a Connect AMP. Connect AMP would be approx 25 ft from Connect and then an additional 20' of speaker wire to my outdoor speakers. Can someone confirm if there is a delay in lip sync as I suspect there will be? I am aware that TV's have video delay features but that is a big risk to take if it doesn't match perfectly. Lip sync is a huge pet peeve of mine when it is milliseconds off. If there is no solution does anyone have a suggestion to how I accomplish my goal? One suggestion would possibly be to purchase a playbar and connect to outdoor TV. Hello!... I'm trying to figure out how to connect my U-turn audio turntable to my Sonos Connect:Amp. Here is what I'm assuming that I need to do: Uturn Audio Turntable connected to Art DjPre II Phono PreAmp connected to Sonos Connect:AMP and Klipsch RP-150M connected to Sonos Connect:AMP Is this the right setup to have my turntable play on my sonos speakers and on the wired ones?
