Voice control and smart home

I have Sonos system containing two Sonos One and one Sonos AmpGoogle Assistant have worked great together with my Sonos One for the last three years. Suddently out of the blue a “Sonos TV control” apears in my Google Home App. When I ex. call Google Assistant to switch off my Sonos One, it fails, and tell me there is a error with my “Sonos TV control”.First of all, I dont have any “Sonos TV control” installed nor any TV speaker and I don´t know where its coming from or how its suddently apears in my Google Home app. After two months of investigaing I now know its coming from my Sonos Amp.How can i remove/disconnect to this “Sonos TV control” in my Sonos Amp to get my Google Assistant workning again?

I’m running Google Home, with both Nest Mini (2nd Gen) and Nest Hub (2nd Gen) devices, and a Sonos system comprised Sonos Ones and Sonos Fives.I have added “Works with Google” to the Google Home for Sonos, and set my Sonos speakers as the default speaker for each of my Google Home devices. This worked perfectly to allow me to play music from Spotify and control it using voice commands to Google.In the last few months, it’s stopped working.If I ask a Nest Mini (2nd Gen) device to play music, it works as expected, playing on Sonos as it always has.If I ask a Next Hub (2nd Gen) device to play music, Google responds and says it’s playing on Sonos, but nothing actually plays. If I start music playing on Sonos from my phone and then ask a Nest Hub what’s playing, it can tell me - so it’s as if Google can get information from Sonos, but not give it commands.I’ve tried Sonos support and didn’t resolve the issue. When trying to connect my new Ray Soundbar to the Amazon Alexa Service, Alexa doesn't find the Ray.I set up the Ray using the Sonos App, activated the Sonos Skill in the Alexa App and tried to add a new speaker, but Alexa can't find it. I tried it by Android and iOS.The Ray ist working fine with the Sonos App. Ii is connected to the router by LAN, the Echo Dot by WLAN.Any suggestions? Thanks!

I purchased multiple Sonos products for the specific reason of being able to play music in multiple parts of my house. I love keeping my speaker in my bedroom and using voice command to play music—Sonos Voice Command is one of the reasons why I purchased this line. With that being said, I’m completely frustrated and feel very hopeless about ever having the option to lower the loudness of the voice command feature without compromising the music volume. It’s completely unacceptable that Sonos has to scream at me when I use voice command to simply play calming music at bedtime and subsequently wake other people up in the house. I currently use the Alexa Media Player integration for Home Assistant notifications, but I would really appreciate the ability to use my Sonos microphones to trigger automations in Home Assistant. Does anyone know if this functionality is possible?

I am writing an arduino IDE Esp8266 sketch to monitor the play status of a Sonos speaker and trigger an outlet. With SOAP responses, I can easily monitor the avTransport service using the getTransportInfo to get the currentTransportState.  But, if the speaker is grouped, that output is always “playing.” My idea is to identify the group coordinator IP and then use that device’s currentTransportState when the speaker is grouped. My issue is that when I group the speaker, the ZoneGroup Coordinator is defaulting to the same device every time… even when that device is not a part of the playing group. I assume it must have the lowest or first UUID, or something.  is there another way that I can monitor the play/pause status of a grouped speaker that is not the coordinator?  I know I’m missing something.  specs:I am using the S1 app with a variety of zp90, zp120, and play3. It’s an older system.  all thoughts and suggestions are appreciated. Thank you. 

My Sonos system (Beam & 2 100’s) stopped responding to play music commands with Alexa. I get the “I’m having trouble playing that right now” message. I’ve rebooted the system and reauthorized all music systems. WiFi signal very strong. Any help is appreciated. 

Is there a way for my speaker to make a sound when it hears "Hey, Sonos" instead of after it responds to what I say?  I want an indication that it heard me. Thanks.

Hello Sonos Team,I recently found out that Denon has integrated Siri into their smart speakers if you already have a HomePod or HomePod mini at home. You can see the details here: Denon SupportI think this is a great feature and would love to see the same integration on Sonos speakers. How can I use a Sonos Five Stereo Pair with Alexa?  As I have tried to research this question, I have not been able to get a definitive answer of if it is possible.  When attempting in my own environment, I am able to connect 1 Sonos Five.  But if I do a stereo pair, the option is grayed out.

Despite spending lots of time on the phone to the retailer’s help desk,  and searching every avenue, I’m still getting GMT time zone instead of New Zealand (GMT + 13 hours).  I’ve read that Sonos app automatically changes zones but not for me.  The local Sonos help desk is ‘off line’ and the website offers no help to a non-techy like me!

Hi All,I have recently upgraded to an Arc from a Playbar.I have an LG TV that's 4 years old but has an Arc port, I also have my Sky Q box connected via HDMI to the TV.I believe I have followed all of the setup instructions, however, only half of it seems to work.When I tell Alexa to turn on the TV she does but not the Sky box, I have to do that manually. However, when I turn the TV OFF manually it turns both off.When I ask her to turn off the TV I get the start and end notifications but nothing happens.Room is:- TV Room and has Arc, 2 play 1’s and a sub, Arc & TV have Ethernet connections, Port from Q box is HDMI 1, Arc is in the HDMI (ARC) port.Thoughts and possible solutions gratefully accepted. Martyn

I’ve just purchased a new Sonos Roam 2, My Sonos app found it straight away and added it to my system.I’ve added the Alexa voice control and the Sonos skill to Alexa app also the BBC Sounds Skill.I’ve added the BBC sounds service to the Sonos app.When I ask Alexa to play BBC Radio 2 for example it selects BBC World Service West Africa.  I can select Radio 2 from the Sonos app with no problem.  

As of November 20, after a long power outage of 12 hours, I noticed the following:Google Assistant (GA) vanished - first noted with inability to turn on microphone, verified on Sonos App, on the Sonos Beam Gen 1. Any attempt to re-add GA via either android or ios fails with different symptoms depending on the OS.    Android will not be able to locate any google assistant capable device in the ‘google assistant’ phase post linkage (SSO/OUTH) between google ↔ sonos;  IOS will get there error message ‘There may be a problem’.   Verified no former linkage exists in Google Home. I added / removed the SONOS voice control successfully so the Beam is not mechanically challenged.I’ve reviewed threads, cleared the beam to factory defaults and rebuilt, rebooted the router / sonos devices, all to no effect.   All Sonos devices and controller are up to date.   Still, no ability to add Google Assistant to the beam.I’ve seen an email thread from three months ago that the GA feature / addition is curr

How can I connect my google doorbell 2nd gen wired to a google speaker so it works as an indoor chime?

I have 4 Sonos Ports in my set up, all Ethernet wired to my network. I use my phone to play music to them, usually uttering “Siri play some music in the Backyard” (Backyard is the name of a port, in the room “Backyard” of my Apple Home set up). I also have tried picking a port in the output selector. In both of these scenarios, I see about 25% of the time, that Siri will say “OK” or the route is changed successfully in the picker, but then nothing is rendered on the speakers, even though the Apple Music playhead is moving as if nothing is wrong. I have checked my amp, my network, etc. and everything is fine.Interestingly, to recover, all I need is to turn off that route in the picker, and then selected it again, and immediately music is rendered. This leads me to believe it is an iOS issue, but I cant confirm. Has anyone else experienced this? It has been going on ever since I’ve had the ports, ~2 years or so.Since it isn’t 100% repeatable, it is slow to debug. I think it has something

Hi AllDriven mad by functionality over the last 6 months in the UK. I’ve just landed in Spain and been reunited with my Roam speaker which easily plays BBC Sounds via Alexa. The alarms don’t work but I can workaround that. I’m guessing that there is a licensing issue in the UK that prevents me doing what I currently can here?  

All of a sudden, Alexa has stopped working in India. I thought may be it’s an issue with my system. I did a full reset of my Sonos Arc and Sonos Roam and added Alexa voice assistant. While the basic functionality of Alexa is working (asking time, weather etc), it just won’t play any music. Here is a response I am getting when I ask Sonos Roam - Alexa, play some music.response: sorry to do that first enable the skill for your Sonos roam in the Alexa app, then ask me to discover devices. (Similar case with Sonos Arc)in Alexa app, there is no SONOS skill listed to enable. (See the screenshot included below) I have been using Sonos for the past three years. Didn’t have to go through this process of enabling skill while setting up Alexa back when I installed Sonos for the first time.  if worked like a charm right after enabling it from the Sonos app (I didn’t even have to install Alexa on my phone, let alone enabling the skill).  I don’t know if this is just for me or something is seriously
