Anyone knows why Google Assistant stops talking in the middle of responses, before finishing them, on Sonos devices?And how I can solve it? 

Hello, my Sonos system worked well with Google Assistant for years. I use roam and beam for voice control. All my Sonos products are shown in Google Home, while lately when I ask Google Assistant to play music on any named Sonos player, it just replies "the mode is not available". I have tried restart wifi router, reset Sonos system, re-connect Google assistant, nothing works. Any help is very much welcomed. 

I see this same topic from a year ago, but no solution posted.  I use Alexa on a Sonos One to stream NPR through TuneIn.  It worked fine yesterday, but today, when I try it through Alexa, Alexa acknowledges the station (i.e. says something like “playing OPB through Tunein”) but then only silence. If I go through the Sonos app, I can get it to play just fine.  But then, I can’t get Alexa to stop it. On a related note, when I was able to get Alexa to play NPR, I could stop the playing by saying, “Alexa stop.”  But a week or so ago, this stopped working.  The only way I could get it to stop was to say “Alexa pause.” Anybody have any clues what’s going on here?

Hi,Now that BBC sounds is on Sonos, does anyone know how to change the Google Assistant default from TuneIn to BBC Sounds? My Google Home Mini uses BBC Sounds. There’s still some BBC stations that aren’t are on TuneIn like Radio 1 Relax and Radio 1 Dance 

Hi, was hoping someone could help me out. I’ve just purchased a Sonos Roam and have a few issues. My existing setup is only very basic with a google home and several google tv devices, all running on the same network. The Sonos Roam is my first Sonos purchase. Firstly I can’t install google voice control on the Roam. I follow the steps on the Sonos app to add a voice assistant, and when it opens the google assistant app to look for devices, it can’t see the Roam. After looking for devices it fails and says to ensure WiFi is on and that your iPhone and assistant devices are on the same network. WiFi is definitely on and everything is on the same network. Also, I can’t get the Google home to see the Roam and stream to it. When I open the Google home app the Roam is listed under devices along with my other google products, and says it is linked, but when I select media on the app the Roam isn’t listed. Any help would be much appreciated. 

Sonos Roam - Alexa Voice Assistant doesn't recognize smart devices. I saw that the Alexa services were down until yesterday but the status shows that it is back up and it is still not working. I am quite disappointed with the Sonos Roam; I was very excited to get my first Sonos product. However, the setup has been so tedious, so many issues with making the device just play some music from my phone. And, the secondary reason why I bought this product was because it would be Alexa-enabled, even that doesn’t work.  Honestly, if it doesn’t work soon, I plan to return this product.

I used to have my Alexa set up to default play to my Sonos speaker but recently something has changed and i now need to always say ‘in the kitchen’.  Does anyone know how or if I can change it back to default play on Sonos?Thanks

Wasn’t sure if this would be of interest to anyone, but I recently had a chance to play with and review a VIolet Smartswitch Lite. It’s given me Sonos control at the wall switch as well as Philips Hue control. Yesterday while playing a station on Sonos Five which was initiated via a request through my Amazon Echo, the station would not stop. I had to touch the Pause button on the Five. Today, I found that any request to play Sonos via Alexa Echo or Alexa App will not play anything. In troubleshooting I removed the skill, added it back in, removed the group and added it back in, removed the devices and re-discovered, rebooted everything. All firmware is up to date. Up until yesterday all had been good.Right now on the Alexa app I have the Sonos skill enabled and the Sonos Five enabled. I have no Alexa groups. I can play on the Sonos Five via the Sonos app. I can play on the Echo via a Alexa voice request to the Echo or via the Alexa App.  I can request Alexa to play to my Sonos Five via voice request to the Echo. It is acknowledged but no sound comes out. I can request The Sonos Five to Play via the Alexa App, but it does not start playing and does not show the playing bar on screen.I am not

I have had successful alexa and sonos integration for some time. Multiple ‘native’ alexa devices (spots, fireTV) and multiple sonus devices (tv sound bar & sonos 5’s) and a mixed sonos move device. Everything worked fine until a few days ago -- when I ask alexa to play my flash briefing I get time and day then “here is your flash briefing” then silence. Similarly when I ask alexa to shuffle my spotify playlist I get “Here is music from spotify” and then silence. I have powered down/up, logged out of amazon/alexa accounts and back in, deregistered services and re-registered,...still nothing.

My Roam has mostly worked for months but not won’t play music with Alexa to Prime or Spotify.  It says it is playing but it does not.   I have spent  hours removing and reinstalling apps but nothing has helped.  I have rebooted my network and the device a dozen times and that has not helped.   All my true Alexa devices work well.  This is very frustrating.  People have better things to do than fight with technology while support just takes the whole weekend off while users are frustrated.

Hello,I had a Samsung soundbar as well as an Alexa Echo in my living room.  Among other things, I used my Echo to announce when one of my Ring cameras detected motion.I replaced both the soundbar and the Echo with a Sonos Arc, and I have Alexa integration enabled on it. However, I don’t seem to be able to make it so the Ring camera motion announcements would also go through Alexa on the Arc just like it used to on my Echo.  When in the Alexa app, I select the camera I want to hear motion announcements from, but I cannot see/select the Arc to play it.I am correct in thinking that it doesn’t work that way?I searched but didn’t see a clear answer.Thanks!

Since today, my apps (iOS, Windows, 3rd party, ...) no longer show album art, title, artist, progress bar, etc. when I start songs by voice with Alexa. In these cases, the music is then streamed directly from https://d3rz60g1mtspwx.cloudfront.net and the info set is also reduced. I have a stereo pair of nest audios in the living room and i’m thinking of upgrading to either a pair of google home max or sonos 5. I was leaning towards sonos since its not a discontinued product and in future i’ll be able to add more speakers for home cinema etc. i was thinking i’d be keep a nest audio to voice control the sonos, glad i found this forum to check! as i understand it i won’t be able to voice control a stereo pair for playing music, changing volume etc and it all has to be done by phone or physically? and simple things like setting an alarm doesn’t work at all even if it wasn’t a stereo pair? 

Hello,I have been forced to turn voice control off on my new ARC because it thinks it hears ‘Alexa’ ALL the time when it hasn’t.  Tonight during playback of a film it activated three times in as many minutes.  It’s infuriating and I’ve had enough.  I shall put a my echo dot Alexa back in here tomorrow unless anyone has any idea how I can make it less sensitive?

I have Sonos arc at the family room with its wifi password. In addition I have two Sonos Roam in bedroom with different wifi router and password. My question:If I started listening with the arc in the family room, and I want to continue liststening to the same music, how can I do it with different wifi?thxM.

If I set an alarm with Google Assistant on the Sonos One, will the alarm show in the Sonos app? Also, if I set an alarm with the Sonos app, is Google Assistant aware of it? I’m trying to troubleshoot alarm problems and right now, the Google Assistant and the app don’t seem to be aware of the other’s actions. Thanks.

Based on earlier questions I posed to ensure I get things right, I purchased a Sonos Five and a Sonos Amp and have them controlled by Alexa (via Echo).  Thanks to the Community members for their help with my questions both prior to and following my purchases. On my equipment, I have all the latest versions of the Apps and firmware up to date. All devices are in my “Family Room”.I set up the Five first, and during the set up using the Sonos App, I indicated its Room location was Family Room. The Sonos Five ended up being named Family Room and it was in the Family Room. When I set up Sonos Amp, I also said it was in the Family Room and it showed up with the name Family Room 2 (given, I suppose, that it was the second Sonos device in my Family Room).  I subsequently changed the names of the two Sonos devices to Family Room Five and Family Room Amp, respectively. Questions: By renaming the Sonos Five from Family Room to Family Room Five, when I look at the device on the Sonos App, it shows

Hi… I‘ve had a Roam for awhile now and it has worked great. I had it set up with Alexa. I keep it sitting on the Sonos charging pad. When I’m using it, it’s usually off the pad. When finished, l leave it off the pad. It goes to sleep in about 30 minutes. And it stays in sleep mode until I’m ready to use it again.A few days ago I set it up to use Google Assistant. Everything seemed fine. But now I’m noticing when I leave it off the charger and it goes to sleep, it will wake itself up (status lights go on). I didn’t do anything. It will go back to sleep after 10 for so minutes, but it seems to come on again by itself at some point. Over the course of a day, I think this is happening over and over, and this behavior is causing the battery to drain. To test, I kept the Roam next to me (not on charger) while I worked. It went to sleep. But about 30-45 minutes later, I heard a Sonos One (with Google Assistant) I also have in the room beep on it’s own (not because it heard the wake phrase… I

When someone talks to Alexa in my kitchen (Sonos one), it dims the audio (whilst replying) on my living room Arc. The rooms aren’t so close that the Arc is hearing the request. 

On my Sonos One Gen2, when I set an alarm, google says it is setting the alarm for the time I specified. Then I ask her what time it is set for, and the answer is 3 hours later than I said, and snoozed to the correct time that I requested for the alarm. Google answers the time and time zone queries correctly. I can find no setting to correct this. Thanks for the help.

Using a Sonos Roam speaker with Google set up, I cannot play music from music services.  If I set my default music provider to either YouTube, Spotify, or Apple Music, and then say 'okay google, play the Police' I get the following:"Okay playing the artist The Police on YouTube Music" "Sorry it looks like you haven't set up your account on that media service provider yet"But all my settings in Google Assistant look correct? Note: that I can ask for the time, I can also play music from TuneIn, something about the other services is busted?

I have Sonos devices with Alexa setup in 3 rooms.  In 4th room, I have a Beam that WAS setup with Alexa, but I removed Alexa from it to try to solve this problem: while watching tv using the Beam, if someone speaks to Alexa in another room, the Beam mutes momentarily. I’ve 1) disabled Alexa (in the Sonos app) on the Beam, and left it off. 2) disabled Alexa on all devices in the Sonos app, turned back on for all but the Beam. 3) disabled Sonos skill in Alexa, then reenabled.  Help!

Hello FolksCould someone possibly help me please? I haven’t a clue with this unfortunately I possess the following Sonos products playbar (non Alexa)2x play 1s (non Alexa)1 x gen 3 sub (with Alexa)can I control all the devices which are set up for “living room” in the Sonos App with Alexa or must all products be Alexa voice controlled? I have an Amazon “Echo Flex” for Alexa.  It has a silly tiny speaker and I’d like to connect it to my Sonos 5 so that whenever I ask Alexa something, it responds via the Sonos 5 speaker.   The Alexa app supports using WiFi Speakers for voice response output.  However, for the Sonos 5, the option is greyed out.  It says:“Why can't I use my Preferred Speaker?For a speaker to work with an Echo Inout, it must be able to play all audio.  Your Preferred Speaker is only available to certain types of audio, like music and audiobooks.  To use a Preferred Speaker with Echo Input, select an Alexa device with a built-in speaker.” Given that Amazon Alexa has been around for years, I thought that Sonos would have caught up?  The Sonos 5 is such a great speaker.  It seems a shame to have such small modern age issues.
