Voice control and smart home

I am not sure if this is a bug, part of the lawsuit or what.I have a Nest Audio.I have Sonos Connect Amp powering two outdoor speakers.Sonos is linked to my Google Home.From the Nest Audio, I can tell it to change songs. That is it.It seems it no longer adjusts the volume. It also will no longer play a different artist. For example, if I am listening to Van Halen, if I say "Ok Google, Play Pantera on Pool Radio", it says it can't do that on this device. If I say "OK Google, Next song", that works.Trying to change volume as I said, does not work anymore either.On my phone, if I say "OK Google, play Van Halen on Pool Radio", it will work.Is there something with the Nest Devices that is now broke or a bug?I removed the sonos, readded it, reauthorized YouTube Music. nothing. I tried a second Nest Audio, same thing. It will not do "Ok Google, Play "artist" on Pool Radio".Seems it is just related to the Nest Audi

Bare with me here:My setup for the past few years since we got our pool is this.Sonos Second Gen Connect Amp (the white/grey one, not the new black one).This powers two outdoor speakers.  I had a google mini speaker outside, that I would talk to while in the pool to change songs, change artist, etc.  This has all been working until I changed to the Nest Audio.Below is my thread I have created on the google forums just for reference. I was thinking of purchasing a Sonos Roam since it is portable and waterproof.  I would use this to tell Sonos what to do while I am in the pool.My question is, can I get it to function similar to the google speaker, where it does not play music, it just plays on the amp and two speakers.For example, if I am in the pool and I tell the Roam to play an artist, it will start playing on the connect amp, and not the roam.  Basically just want the Roam for Sonos voice control.  Can it work like thi

It seems US has already got the SVC released and seen online that France will get SVC (French?) later this year, but what about the rest of the world? Would be nice to see some kind of timeline for us who don’t want to share what we say with google or amazon.I would be happy to be able to use the same version as for the US, as English is still the main language in my household and I wouldn’t want a local language version.

Hello Sonos, I was wondering if there would be multiple voice options in the future for the Sonos voice control?

Just got Sonos Voice Control on my Beam Gen 2.(I have 5 other speakers around my home) I purposely avoided all the other voice Sonos speakers because I didn’t like the idea of Amazon or Google listening in on me, not to mention their annoying voices.  But Sonos knocked it outta the park with their new Sonos Voice Control. The professional actor chosen is perfect.  It is quick as can be and best of all never interrupts the mood or feel of the music.  His voice truly has the class and charm of Sonos.  I like how it listens a bit longer so when you say “Hey Sonos turn it down” you can wait and see if you like the volume, if not, follow up with “More” and the volume will go down more.  This is a nice touch without any chime or voice interrupting the music. You can follow when Sonos Voice Control is listening if you look at the brightness level on the light near the mic. Now I have a massive music library that lives on Dropbox and is meticulously organized in Apple Music(iT

Hii have a dual Sonos one gen 2 set up in the kitchen and a Sonos beam with Sonos one gen2’s but cannot workout how to get my Ring doorbell to announce on them.. it works on my standalone Alexa? any instruction would be appreciated  charlie

I've been trying for the last few days to get Sonos Voice to play radio stations but to no avail. I've tried just asking, I've tried specifying '...on sonos radio', it just says it doesn't understand, or it can't find that content. Anyone else have this issue or could offer any suggestions?For info, the specific station I really need to work is LBC (my wife listens to it all the time and until this works I can't switch from alexa) but I've tried various others too.

I am trying to add Sonos voice to a Beam.  The Beam is powered on and is on the latest version (I checked in the app).  I can play Sonos radio on it fine from the app so the Wifi is working correctly.  However when I step through the process of adding Sonos voice I get the end and always get this error:“There was a problem connecting to Family Room.  Make sure all your products are powered on and connected to Wifi”I’m not sure what to do at this point.

Back in 2019, Sonos purchased Snips, a voice platform, with the intention of making “the voice experience on Sonos even better”. Reflecting on my own experiences lately using both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, I really hope Sonos is close to launching their own voice assistant soon that can overcome many of the shortcomings of these two voice assistants, especially in terms of playing music.In particular, I’d like to see a voice assistant that can:Play lossless / Hi-Res / HiFi music from a music service Differentiate between your personal playlists and public music platform playlists Play music from your own local music libraryWhat would you like to see it do, based upon the issues and frustrations you’re encountering in trying to play music with your voice assistant of choice?

Hi All, I just started using the new Sonos Voice Assistant and it seems to be working quite well so far. Whenever I ask it to play an album or a song it likes to always default to Apple Music, but I’d rather it default to Amazon Music without have to always specify “On amazon Music” every time I ask it something.  Any ideas how to achieve this?Thanks

We have several Amazon Echo Dots in the house, a pair of Sonos One in stereo and a Beam Mk 2, everything working fine until a couple of days ago. We have the beam in the lounge and the Alexa side is done through a Echo Dot, only reason we did this was the mike on the beam didn't pick up commands without shouting them loudly. Its worked faultlessly until the last couple of days when for some reason when you ask it to play a BBC Radio Station it goes through the motion but the station never starts. I even tried disconnecting the Echo dot and using the Beam mike, same thing happened. I reset the beam and the Dot and it didn't sort it. Its a random issue and has been hit and miss for the last few days. All the other echo dots work fine and so do the Sonos One paired speakers. I have tried to contact Amazon but they are not easy to contact. Its a real puzzle and i just have no idea what the issue is. Hello,I have 2 daughters which both hold a Sonos One in their room. They both want to use the Google Assistant to play their playlist on Spotify.Unfortunately, Google Assistant is using always the same account on both loudspeakers.Is there a way how I can pick and choose the Default Spotify Account?   

Over the past three weeks or so voice control of my Sonos Move has become erratic.   I have already worked with the tech support desk via chat to disable/enable Alexa and some of the music services.   Normally after a reboot everything works great.   At some time later, saying “Alexa stop.” doesn’t work.   A command to play a channel or music in Amazon is successfully repeated by Alexa, but the action doesn’t take place.  If I go to my Beam and tell Alexa to play X on the Sonos Move that seems to work.  The Play5s, Beam, and Sub work great in my office and don’t seem to have this issue.

Just a suggestion to offer the option of a push notification to system-linked smartphones/devices when a speaker starts playing via voice control (Alexa/Google). The notification would ask if the phone should open the app to allow control through the smartphone/device.I often start playing music on my Sonos One through Alexa and want to make volume/pairing adjustments through the Sonos app. If there was a notification on my phone ready to tap and make adjustments it would the whole process smoother and more integrated.Many thanks.

I used to manage my chromecast using my voice via Google Assistant, for instance “ok google, put Chromecast on pause” ou “switch Chromcast off”. But now, the answer si “unfortunately living room is not compatible”. In french : “malheureusement salon n’est pas compatible”.Is that a change on sonos products ? I have a Sonos BEAM (not the latest generation).Thanks  

I wish to have an easy to use NAS for playing music onto Sonos, I’ve read lots of articles and it’s confusing me. can anyone recommend a simple NAS that can be used without too much altering of protocols or security settings or other apps

When you ask for something that is streamed right back from assistant api and not from an app like Spotify you don't have control on Sonos va app but only the option to ask Google assistant to stop. Substantially when the playback of something like "hei google tell me the news" you'll notice the status of the player from the app or the exposed API as "nothing in play".Missing the option to stop it via any other external API but pressing the physical buttons or asking for "ok Google stop".For speech impaired and movement impaired people this is frustrating. Could you please add a status like "assistant engaged" and a stop button on API and APP?As the playing status is already there this shouldn't be too hard to implement.Thank you.

It does not work with Google home. I don’t understand why I need to login into Spotify when I didn’t with the Bose 900, I can’t even play the radio without having to sign up for yet another service. Cannot control the audio through the Google home app, pretty sure it is possible seems purposeful. Cannot connect my laptop to the arc without purchasing additional hardware.Don’t really care about your law suite with Google. A good product and a good community cannot be copied so good luck with law suite but I am not Google so why are you punishing me? 

I am not again scrolling through similar issues that were raised years ago - I would like a new topic opened please. I have an Echo Dot and a Sonos One.I have had same for 4+years.When I ask the Sonos “Alexa, play Absolute Radio” or “Alexa, ask BBC to play Radio 2” or similar commands, I get the expected response: E.g. “Absolute Radio from Planet Radio” or “BBC Sounds, and the jingle.Then SILENCE.This does not happen with the Echo Dot.I can start any radio station or music from the app on my iPhone.But when I ask Alexa to “Stop playing”, NOTHING HAPPENS.  I have to unplug the damn thing or use the App.Yes, I have checked the microphone (why, I don’t know because my voice was clearly heard!).Yes, I have reset the One and started from scratch.Yes, I have disabled and reenabled all the skills.This MUST be an issue with Alexa & Sonos (My Echo Dot works fine)PLEASE CAN SOMEONE COME UP WITH A SO

I am struggling to connect my Sonus Play 3 with Alexa.  Does anybody have any ideas ?  Both the Sonus and Alexa app are up to date (Software) I have enabled the Sonus Skill in Alexa and linked the account.  I have a dedicated Alexa device to use but I cannot find the Sonus via the Alexa app.Is it even possible on an older speaker like the Sonus Play 3, Ive been advised it is but cannot get it to connect. Ive also disabled and enabled the Sonus skill in the Alexa app with no joy.

Hi, I recently purchased the Nest Doorbell (battery) version, it automatically announces when the doorbell is pressed to every device in my house (this is the expected behaviour). I then started manually stopping services from receiveing this notification in the Google Home application by setting those devices to “Do Not Disturb”. However, my Sonos devices (of which I have three serate instances (Beam + 2 Sonos Ones”, Sonos One outdoor (under a patio), Sonos One outdoor (under another patio)) do not provide me an option to set a “Do Not Disturb” for announcements (or broadcast messages). I do not want my outdoor speakers to announce someone is ringing the doorbell.  I contacted Google help first and they said to contact Sonos. This thread is the same issue as outlined in this thread from ~1 year ago 

So I have read a lot.  I just recently got screwed with Insteon so I am looking at changing everything (yes expensive).  This will be getting leak sensors and also switching to Lutron Casseta and switch to home kit and get a HomePod miniWhere it gets a bit muddy i have all older sonos products including the play one with Alexa.  I could just keep my music separate with the use of Alexa, spotify and  make my home automation on HomeKit.  This is still not ideal as I would like to be able to use one interface if I can.  Can I use my sonos with Alexa and still use my old speakers and have it work with HomeKit and HomePod mini?I have read various things where you can do it through airplay, if I was to get one of the new Sonos speakers but this is yet another rather large purchase.Can I add all my old sonos speaker into HomeKit and then ask siri to play music for example or just go into spotify and chose my music and have it play on my old speakers while
