Voice control and smart home

I have two new Era100s and am having the same problem on both. I have never had this issue on my Sonos Ones. Alexa is enabled on the speakers. When you say the command word, the Alexa chime plays so that should mean it's listening, but we only get a response around 25% of the time. This happens when the room is totally silent as well as when there is background noise. I have noticed the music already playing doesn't quieten when Alexa is listening, as it does with the Sonos Ones, so I wonder if the voice assistant can't pick up what we are saying. Tried all the deregister/disable skill/reset fixes I can find, and moved speakers to different positions, and there's been no change. Any ideas anyone?

I've got Alexa on my Sonos speakers. All of a sudden, Alexa will listen (speaker volume lowers), the light will flash, but there's no action on simple things such as "volume down" and "stop". Everything used to work fine for a year, but now nothing.I've tried all the usual, remove Alexa, re-add, re-install skills, reboot speakers... Again, this happened all of a sudden, without me changing anything.

I’ve had a Beam (Gen 1) installed for a few years, using my Amazon/Alexa account to control devices in my living room. It’s worked flawlessly, until a few weeks ago.Alexa itself works fine - I can ask questions, interact with the service etc, but I cannot control any of my smart devices. After puzzling on this for a few days, I stumbled on the issue: the Sonos device is using the wrong Amazon account, one belonging to my daughter. The smart devices shouldn’t exist in her profile, but I don’t get any “errors” - just the little chime after issuing a command that suggests it’s worked as normal. I have other Amazon Echo devices in my home, and they’re working fine: for example, asking my Echo:switch on plug 1.. switches on plug 1. Need to repeat Alexa several times on ERA 100 to activate it. When using Alexa about 50% of the time after saying Alexa the light goes out and it stops listening, I have to say Alexa a couple of times before it actually works ... See the video

On the iOS app, if I try to add Alexa as a service, it redirects me to amazon to sign on, but then after I enter my name/password and click the “sign-in” button, it sends me to an error page: 414 Request-URI Too Large The URL is indeed incredibly long, mainly due to the `metadata1` query field Edit: I got it to work, by copying the URL, removing the `metadata1` field, then opening the URL in the browser

Hey! Since many of your products have both speaker and microphone in the same device, would it be impossible to contact two (or more of these) in a “call” with each other?  Apparently Sonos isn’t able to use Amazon Alexa drop in feature (because of missing blinking LEDs or something?), but could you perhaps make it’s own intercom feature for multiroom homes with multiple speakers? Just use Sonos Voice Control instead of Alexa/Google Assistant to enable this feature so you wouldn’t be affected by other companies like Amazon? I know I’m not alone wanting badly this feature without use of any additional echo devices. Sincerely yours,Aksulotli

Just got a Beam gen2 and have been loving it. Though it would be nice to be able to say “Hey Sonos, turn off status lights” to turn off speaker lights during a movie. The option to turn off the status light is several touches and swipes to get to. It would be much more convenient way to access with Sonos Voice. 

Last year, my turned-off Apple TV worked fine for me to run automations and play music on my SONOS Arc. but for some time now it is no longer able to execute that way.

Spent hours trying to play Spotify using voice control through my Roam.  Linked the skill in the Alexa app but when you ask to play Spotify Alexa cannot find it, and asks to be asked to locate the skill which she then cannot find.

Hey everyone, I have a new Sonos One that works great aside from this issue I am having with Google Home/Assistant integration.  When I try to broadcast a message to the Sonos One located in the bedroom (either through the Assistant app or via voice command to my Google Nest Mini, which is in a different room), I get an error that there is “nothing named X in your account”, or something to that effect, so the message is unable to be broadcast. This happens regardless of whether I try to broadcast to the room (“Main Bedroom”) or to the device itself (“Main Bedroom speaker”), confirming the exact name of the room and speaker, respectively. Hi,I want to be able to tell Alexa (through the App or Voice) to play music on my Play:1 speakers and Playbar.Alexa has found my Sonos One speakers and allows me to play music on them, but Alexa does not let me play music through my Sonos Play:1 and Playbar Speakers, as well as through my Sonos Groups/Rooms.Spotify IS able to find my Sonos Groups and Speakers, and does allow me to Play through any of those speakers using the Spotify App.I'm not sure why Alexa will not give me the option to use the Sonos Skill to play music through my Play:1 and Playbar speakers.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks 

We have six Sonos speakers on S2: 2 PlayBars (3 & 4 years old), 4 Play:1s (3-5 years old). I realize they were all bricked by Sonos, a fact that really peeves me off because now I’m stuck with an expensive speaker system that to my knowledge was never bricked before. I chose PlayBars just as S2 was being introduced because I was told by the salesperson that I could never run them in the same groupings as my older speakers, thus getting newer, lower-quality sound bars would make all of my Play:1s useless.Our smart home system is Apple HomeKit, using the latest AppleTV as our hub. I don’t care about creating automations in HomeKit with Sonos. Wired systems aren’t an option as we live in an antique home.While it’s impossible to add Airplay2 to my older speakers. can I somehow link my speakers to an inexpensive hub so that I can Airplay2 to all or some speakers and bypass this terribly outdated and awful app? Alexa isn’t fully working on my era 100. I can’t control Spotify using it. Ive checked the Alexa app and my era 100 is on there but doesn’t seem to be linked as a speaker. When I ask Alexa to change songs , on my era, it tells me that it can’t support the stream and to add my era 100 device. Very strange.

I have an Arc for my living room tv and a beam for my bedroom tv.  I have the Amazon Alexa voice turned on for the beam to give commands.  However, when I am watching tv in the living room the sound from the arc pauses for a few seconds any time someone is asking the beam anything.  I do not see any settings in the Sonos app regarding the Arc for this to occur.  This will happen even if the bedroom door is closed and out of audio range of the arc.  Seems like they are connected in some way but cannot figure out why or how.  Any suggestions?

How can I turn off a Sonos audio message about voice control?  Whenever I pause and then unpause my Era 100 speakers, I get a Sonos audio message about using voice control; and I want to delete that or turn it off.  After hearing the message several dozen times, I’m ready to delete it

Today I removed connection to Sonos from the Google Home app (I have 9 speakers). I added it again in the Google Home app and it all worked. At this point i noticed that a few of my speakers had Google assistant missing. I tried to add it from the Sonos app, and it did not work. I decided to remove the connection from Google Home app and re-add it, and this failed with the following error message: "Register your speakersYou need to link speakers to your myemail@hotmail.com Sonos account before you can add this skill.Go to More > Settings > Account Settings in the Sonos app. (If you don't see Sonos Account, your Sonos system needs an update.)" I have the system working with all the speakers and thet seem registered on the Sonos webpage.I have tried everything.  I have two IKEA Symfonisk, and I am trying to connect them to my Google Home.When I try to connect them, Google Home sends me to the Sonos website to log in. Then I get a message that I need to connect the speakers to my account, even though the speaker system is already on my account, and I am logged in on the Sonos app When I try to move on from this page, I get a new message saying I need to update the Sonos app, but then I am stuck because the app is already fully updated. If I click the update button, it opens the Sonos app and nothing else happens.I tried reaching out to customer support, but they were unable to help me.Anyone know how to fix this? 

How can I play my favorite radio stations defined in  My Sonos (Favorites) via Sonos voicecontrol.Each time I ask “Hey Sonos ,,.” he searches into the Sonos library and not into My favorite stations. So stupid that I think something is wrongly configured at my side.Thank you for your help.

Hi,Since yesterday, all IFTTT Sonos applets (used for about 2 years) no longer work. I have now “reconnected” the Sonos service in IFTTT several times. Connection fine. When creating a new applet I get the following error message:“The operation could not be completed (IFTTT.NetworkError.Error 1)”Is IFTTT out of service from Sonos end? Does it work for others.Thanks for feedback.

Trying to use voice commands thru the google home mini (gen1) to my pair of One SL's. Can't get the Sonos App to see the Google Home Mini. From the Google Assistant app I am able to link the Sonos speaker, names also match. Sonos "add a third party smart..." link simply opens the quick help instructions. Youtube Music on Sonos app and Google Assistant app are both logged in but all voice commands just play music on the Google Home Mini itself. After endless fiddling I was able to use the Google Home app manual up/down, play, pause buttons to control the Sonos but no voice commands seem to work. TIA! 

Hello,I have an issue with Google Assistant, it worked really well in the past but now, when I try to link my account, I have the error message “You need to link speakers to your Sonos account”. I already have my speakers linked to my account. I tried to reset all my system (Beam 2 + Sub Mini) and deleted all apps (Sonos, Google Home, Google Assistant) and reinstall these but nothing work. Could you help me with that ? Thank you,
