This isn't something that's not already known, but I just wanted to share how all the problems I had with my Beam (plus two era 100 surrounds) very regularly disconnecting from wifi (BT router) went away when I set a static IP for the Beam on the router. It really wasn't difficult to do (once you access your router's admin page) and has been transformational in resolving this issue. If you're having this problem, I really recommend 'fixing' your Beam's IP as static not dynamic (DHCP). It has also resolved an issue with the Sonos app losing access to Amazon music - I think the Beam dropping messed up the app too.(Note: As well as the Beam, I have 2x ERA 300s in another room and the 2x ERA 100 surrounds (on the Beam), but I didn't fix the IP address for any of these - I think the Beam needed it because it was on the busier 2.4 Ghz channel on the router and my other Sonos speakers connect to 5 Ghz.)
New to the product line and trying to get a basic understanding. Here’s what I’d like: a system with a small central amp, left and right passive speakers for stereo music and a center channel for TV (in combination with the L/R). I don’t need a sub. The Amp product has two wired outputs (L/R) so my first question is how would I include the center channel speaker using the Amp?
I’d like to request that the designers take another look at the home screen on the app and combine Sources and Services into one horizontally scrollable list. To me the Services are all just music sources and its such a waste of screen space to see Music Library and Line In (when it shows up!) shown on their own. I would like to suggest that you combine these into one line and then use the space created to have the system component list expanded as small horizontally scrollable list of icons to select / control your component(s). The rationale for this is that the very first thing i want to do is select the speaker(s) I want to control.

Can I use the app on my Android device, and Airplay on an iPhone at the same time? I have multiple speakers in my system, I would like to play content on one speaker using the app, my wife would like to play different content on another speaker using Airplay… at the same time. So far we can’t figure out how to make this work.
I have not updated Sonos since before the May update, and my NAS music library access & functionality is great (as it has been before & after moving my personal music files from old NAS to new NAS in 2021).Please let me know if you (customers) are still having Music Library issues after post May updates? And your opinion on whether I should update or continue waiting? thx
Hiei have an old Samsung tv that does not have Bluetooth, so I just bought Move 2 speaker and a Bluetooth transmitter that runs through the audio system of the tv .Now my problem is how do I connect the speaker to the tv as I have not seen the option to search for Bluetooth devices on the Sonos app. Can someone help me on this please.
Hello everyone!Ive recently bought the Arc Ultra, Sub Gen 4 and 2x ERA 300s and love the sound and sleek system design. Its fantastic! However, I was shocked to find that i cannot play my UHD Blu-Rays with DTS-X and DTS-HD MA audio. While i appreciate there are licensing costs associated with the formats, let the CUSTOMERS decide if they want it. Add a $10 or $20 one time fee which customers can pay to “activate” DTS if they want it.This is supposed to be a premium soundbar, but only supports Dolby…. its extremely odd.Would love peoples thoughts and if there is planned DTS integration (beyond DTS 5.1 which is dated!)Many thanksJ
Hello,I have bought the new SONOS Arc Ultra with 2 Era 300 and a Sub Mini. Here is my question. Since my TV only supports HDMI Arc, what are the best audio settings to choose on the PS5?As I understood, I should select under “Audio Output” and “HDMI Device Type” “AV Amplifier” and under “Number of channels” “7.1 channels”.What should I choose under "Audio Format "Priority"? Normally I would select Dolby Atmos, but my TV does not support HDMI eArc, so the big question is which format to select: Linear PCM Dolby Atmos Dolby Audio or DTS?Your help would be much appreciated.Best regards,Marc
Hi Would it be possible possible to show meta data on the now playing screen, or an advanced view accessed from that screen? So things like the file type, bit rate, year, genre etc. Competitors such as Wiim have this as standard and it's a very useful feature. The vaguely remember it was previously available on Sonos too, in an earlier version, but I might be wrong. Thank you.
Hi. I am hoping someone can help. I have just upgraded and now I have: Samsung TV S95D - 55”Sonos Arc Ultra and Sub 4my blu ray player - Sony BDP-S790 I have the arc ultra connected to the e arc hdmi 3 on the TV. I also have Virgin (TiVo) connected to hdmi 1 and Apple TV on hdmi 4. On hdmi 2 I have a hdmi switch that has a Nintendo Switch, PS3 and the Sony blu ray. everything else seems to be working but I can’t get any sound out from the blu ray at all. it has picture but no sound. Has anyone got any ideas? I have already tried using different ports in the hdmi switch but that doesn’t seem to have made a difference. I have tried new hdmi cables from Amazon and used them for the blu ray → hdmi switch and hdmi switch → tv.
As a relative newby to Sonos, I looked to Trueplay to help setup the ideal sound stage adjustments. I enjoyed the Sonos ARC with Sonos Subwoofer as my primary use and added the Sonos ERA 300’s a little later. Sonos tech assistance was very helpful but the result was “underwhelming”. (term used by quite a few Sonos reviewers). The 300’s added little. Yet their design and heft is substantial. Then a review by Murasgul about 10 months ago nailed it: Turn off the Trueplay; go down the rabbit hole.Sonos really does try to provide a simplified process to help set up a surround sound home theater. Perhaps if your room fits that ideal, it might work. In my case it didn’t. And I suspect many suffer the same poor acoustic response. When at a music concert, ever notice a small section in the audience where their sound engineers are set up? The music group invests in the engineer/sound mixer to maximize the experience for each hall they play in. And of course, recording studios try to maximize sou
I am a HUGE Sonos fan, and I am concerned that Sonos still does not support Apple Silicon for a desktop install on Mac. Apple released Apple Silicon for MacBook Pro back in November of 2020, so it has been 4 years!I see Sonos as a cutting-edge technology company, so not recompiling to allow a native Apple Silicon experience is very disappointing. I waited on upgrading my laptop to an Apple Silicon processor to avoid having to use the emulation software (Rosetta). All of my software is running natively on Apple Silicon. Sonos is the only product that has not made the effort after 4 years to update to a natively supported Apple Silicon application.I am now using the web app, which is very slow to respond to commands/actions and not as good as the desktop app. Why is this a native app for Apple Silicon that is not an option today?
I am moving from Canada (120v) to France (220v) with a number of SONOS speakers and want to know where I can purchase EU power plugs.
Is there a way to turn my surround sound up without turning up the Arc ultra?
Wird es irgendwann Ohrpolster aus Stoff geben für die Sonos Ace? Moderator Edit: Google Translate- Will there ever be fabric ear pads for the Sonos Ace?
Heard from an industry insider Sonos is planning a paywall for all but the basic app features (once the app actually works).
Another complete round of hardware and software updates today. Including Ace update. At least everything updated on the first pass and EQ settings were not auto-reset, so maybe Sonos deserves a little credit.Unfortunately this update still does not reflect deployment of TrueCinema on the Ace. And I see no changes to the UI on iOS. Maybe there's something for others and Android users....
My system comprises a PLAYBAR, SUB Gen 2 and ONE speakers. They were working fine and showing on the SONOS App for quite a few years up until buying a new TV. After disconnecting devices during the TV install, the Sonos App didn’t recognise my devices anymore? Eventually after hours of trying I finally got the PLAYBAR to connect to the app after doing a factory reset but I just cannot connect the SUB Gen 2 and both of the ONE speakers to the App…I’ve been trying for hours and at the point of going to the pub!..can anyone help me out and advise what the problem could be and hopefully a fix? Got to say the app appears slightly different to how I last remember it..I never needed to open it to be honest..and it seems a lot worse than j remember it?..thanks in advance for any help.
Sonos is the ONLY app that I cannot control from outside my home wifi. I all I want to do is deactivate a couple of alarms that I forgot to do before I left on vacation. I can access my door locks and alarm but not even change a alarm away from home.
I am about to connect my ERA300 via the uSBc input to a record player phono out. Does this mean I cannot also stream music to it from other devices without a full reset?
Are we getting the possibility of generating new and editing existing playlists soon?I understand that it has been a priority to make the app work for people that have been hit really hard on the functionality, but really... it's been 9 month. Are Android users getting the widget functionality back also?RegardsNiels
Sub min always disconnects when switch the tv off
I have all the settings correct on tv and xbox and have done trueplay. The sound is awful it does not play half the sounds at an audible level when playing games and has no directional audio even in stereo. In Atmos you need to turn it to 60+% to hear ambient noises under that its like having ear plugs in. Yet i can watch the same game being played in YouTube and it has full surround sound and you can hear sounds that you can't hear playing games directly. Feel like i wasted £400 for a mono speaker
I’m wonderingWhen I arrive home, and I am listening to Apple Music or Audacy on my phone, through my headphones or car speakers: is there a simple way to shift the music to the whole house? right now, I have to open AirPlay, select one speaker, then open S2 ad scroll down to the actively playing speaker, then open the speaker list and select play-all or whole house. thats a lot of steps, for what seems to me as a common task. also whenever playing a single speaker it’s never the one on the top of the S2 speaker list, the top is always the last inactive group session which is useless since nothing is playing there. thanks
