Hey All, Apple Music & Amazon Music is about to support Dolby Atmos, does anyone know if playback through the Sonos app will allow for Dolby Atmos content or is it just via HDMI?
So last night I charged my Roam to 100%. I then unplugged it from the charger and it went into sleep mode. Then I went to sleep. When I woke up, with ZERO use of both the Roam and my Sonos system, the Roam battery was down to 91%. So this means it dropped almost 10% in roughly 8 hours. Which would be, generously, -- roughly 25% over a 24 hour period. Which means it would last only about 4 days in sleep mode.Sonos says it should last 10 days in sleep mode. Do I have a bad battery? What are others seeing in this regard?
We have a single Sonos amp that powers our pool speakers. My wife and I both have separate YouTube music accounts as we listen to different music.I have the single Sonos account. Is there a way to either giver her, her own Sonos profile or be able to load up BOTH YouTube accounts in same Sonos window? The reason is if she plays music on YouTube music, even if it is on the Sonos, it affects my mixes.

I have a home theater setup with LG TV+Beam+subwoofer + 2SLs speakers,Beam connected to TV via eARC HDMI, using Sonos S2 system.Connected to the TV via HDMI are a Dish Hopper 3 receiver, a Samsung Blue-ray and an Amazon Fire TV box. TV has latest software and firmware. The Sonos system was purchased in March 2020 and so is out of warranty. All worked well until 2 days ago when I suddenly lost all sound on the system. Spent 90 minutes on the phone with Sonos tech and completely reset up the whole system. After I hung up with tech, I realized I was getting audio dropouts which became more frequent the longer the system was on. I disconnected the HDMI from the ARC port and used the TV sound instead.Yesterday I rebooted the entire system by disconnecting the power and reconnecting after 1 minute but it did not help.Today I switched out the ARC HDMI cable but still was getting dropouts, more frequent the longer the whole system was on, such that after 1 hour the audio was unintelligible .I c
I have read that the old Play One does not support 24 bit hi res audio. Is this the case when they are set up as surrounds to the Arc and Sub? I was hoping to use a couple of my old Play Ones for this purpose later in the year. Will they not be able to channel Dolby TruHD with Atmos? Many thanks.Robert
I wasn’t aware of Sonos Radio HD until this last week. Noticing that they offered a free 30 day trial, I was going to activate it and try it out but decided against it after I read the minimal feature list and couldn’t determine if it had the features I wanted or not. In my opinion, if you want to launch a premium “radio” music service today, the service you have to beat is Stingray Music. Thus you need your features to at least match and hopefully even exceed theirs. In a nutshell, Stingray Music is optimized for discovery. Thus the whole user experience is centered around making this process as simple and effective in determining what you like and dislike, so as to offer a better music listening experience overall. What this means is going way beyond just the ability to skip a song. It’s means the ability to dislike / block a song or an artist, so you don’t hear them again and thus have to continue to manually skip it. Having both is essential, as I may love an artist but hate one of
hi i only want to control the volume in my family room on my remote not the app how do i disable that?
Hey there. I have a black Play 5 Gen 2 and it doesn’t work for my set up anymore. I’m looking to add 2 Beams and a Roam (all in white) so would love to trade the Play 5 for any of those.
Hello, newest Apple Tv 4k model its supoose to deliver apple music lossless up to 49khz format (once this service is available this month) , I currently have a setup that includes a LG oled tv connected to the Sonos Arc via an Earc channel, should I expect the sound quality being delivered /passthrough to the Arc ? What about the same setup being working with apple music new dolby atmos format?
iTunes Last Played and Play counts are important to me. I understand those functions don’t work using the Sonos player. Is it possible to play music via iTunes on my Mac using the Sonos speakers without using the Sonos player? I know I can do that via Airplay on my iPhone -- but that also does not compute Last Played and Play counts. I have sophisticated playlists on iTunes that don’t translate specifically to Sonos. I love the speakers but want to keep the versatility of the iTunes Player. Thoughts?
Hi,I just ordered a projector and the newest apple tv 4k. Since I'm already a happy Sonos user (basically just have two Play:1 units), I would love to continue with that. From my research I figured that I have these options: Connect the ATV to bluetooth, for instance a sonos roam and then group the roam w. the other older units which – as I understand would make all of them play? Connect the ATV via Airplay 2, for instance to a Sonos One.. I heard that is has the caveat of having to re-connect every time, but might provide a better solution? I know that this is not what the above equipment was designed to do, so not looking for that kind of input. The whole idea of the projector setup is to have a big screen when I need it and then tuck it away when not using it and soundwise I want to be able to use the speakers for music as well.Any constructive input on the above? Thanks in advanceLars
I own Sonos Arc + Sub (Gen 3) + 2 Sonos One products connected to newly bought Apple TV 4K via HDfury Arcana as my Samsung TV doesn't have eArc. I'm able to get Dolby ATMOS on it's supported latest movies i.e. TENET from streaming apps. But the issue I have is for Non ATMOS movies. I set audio HDMT output as Auto with Dolby ATMOS in my Apple TV. So movies with Dolby Digital Plus (DD+) 5.1 audio format, I get Multichannel PCM 5.1 instead of Dolby Digital Plus (DD+) 5.1 in my Sonos Arc. The Multichannel PCM 5.1 is softer than Dolby Digital Plus (DD+) 5.1 and the sound is not great. Hence I would like to check if the sound can be better in Sonos Arc for DD+ 5.1 audio content movies? thanks
I recently installed a Sonos Beam to my Sony Bravia/Apple TV system via typical HDMIs. I set it up to control the operation and volume using the Apple TV (ATV) remote and it worked as expected: moved around the streaming apps and controlled the volume nicely with the ATV remote. However, after watching a show or changing to another app, the ATV remote could not adjust the volume up or down. I could move around apps but could not control volume. I double checked the settings in the APT and all ok: Audio Format - Auto, Volume Control - Auto via IR (TV). I tried switching to Sound Bar via IR and did not fix it. I thought it had to do with the TV which is an old Sony Bravia (10-12 old?) but used the ATV/remote with the previous 5.1 setup (good ol’ receiver, DVR, speakers, SW). The only time I will get a small window to control the volume is when turned the whole system off (TV, APT, Beam) for a couple of seconds. When back up, all would run ok but will loose the volume control abo
Once S2 is released, will I still be able to buy new speakers and add them to a legacy system? I know that every time I add a new speaker to my existing system, it forces me to update every controller and speaker to the latest version before bringing the new speaker online. (That’s how I lost the ability to use old controllers, even though we don’t use any features that weren’t there 10 years ago.) It would cost thousands to replace my legacy speakers (that are still working well), and our most common usage case is “party mode” with everything linked together and in sync, so a split system is not appealing. We’ve been working our way through the facility, buying another speaker every six months. Do I have to hurry up and buy the rest of the rooms before June?
It has taken me many hours to figure out from intense Googling that the reason Sonos won’t include certain songs from my itunes playlists is that these particular songs are protected (m4p). I have been all over the internet looking for a free tool to convert them. I already own these songs...I don’t think I should have to pay more $ to convert them. I don’t have very many songs with this issue. Can you help? Thanks in advance.
Hello. Maybe this can be useful for more people using Apple Music lossless via Airplay 2. I listen to my music with Sound check > ON - all the time, but I noticed that the sound from Apple Music is not so clear as the sound from Tidal integration in the Sonos app. By clear, I mean not so bright highs, not so defined lower frequencies, and also mids. Well, not anymore. After applying in the Settings > Music > Sound check > Off AND Settings > Music > Dolby Atmos > Off (if it was on Automatic, or On) The sound will immediately pop-up, as it should. (The change of Dolby Atmos settings is important here, because turning Sound check On or Off will not change the setting immediately). I was surprised how the change is audible on my basic speakers. My setup: iPad 2019Ikea Bookshelf Symfonisk after Trueplay calibration in the stereo pair Tested with several records - Abbey Road from The Beatles, Diana Ross, etc. All in Lossless, or Hi-Res Lossless. Now, there is an
Sonos v2 connect not working? Well I thought mine was either faulty or otherwise completely bricked. It would not reset. There was no green light, however hard I tried to reset it.I disconnected reconnected via Ethernet to my router. I pressed the play and vol+ buttons a few times. Eventually the Sonos app picked it up, but again still not working , I had to give it a few goes. Eventually the Sonos app picked it up successfully. Whilst the Sonos connect device didn’t appear in the app as a registered device, the app then indicated it was performing an update. All my other Sonos products subsequently disappeared from the app as my registered devices. I left it 5 mins then the Sonos app prompt me to disconnect power from the connect, which I did , I then reattach to power whilst still connected to Ethernet and the app indicated it was continuing with the update and setup process. I subsequently had to rename it, as if from new. The app eventually then started to show all my other Sono
My sonos app on my iPhone has betone very aloe to start up and find my speakers. The same for everyone in the family. Have tried to delete and reinstall App and reset all speakers and set up as new. Still the same. seems to have started since last update.
I see this topic has been raised before but never really answered as far as I can see. I recently bought a Sonos AMP for playing TV sound through my good speakers. I connected the AMP to the speakers, and played some spotify music, it works. I then connected the TV to the AMP using the HDMI ARC port on the samsung tv, and played some netflix using the samsung app, and it worked. But next day it was not working anymore. It took a lot of debugging, but I think I found the pattern:I use the TV only with built-in apps like Netflix and with Chromecast. As soon as I use Chromecast as tv input, the HDMI ARC connection is lost, and it does not return if I go back to Netflix. Only way to restore the connection is to remove power from tv and remove hdmi cable, switch on TV with TV sound, put in HDMI cable and select HDMI ARC output in TV settings. Obviously this process defeats the point of having a Sonos AMP in the first place, I could use any stereo amplifier with optical input and get better
I don’t have any compatible airplay devices yet today my Sonos content which I’ve started from the Sonos app randomly shows up in lock screen with full volume control. Did I miss an update or am I stupid?
Hi,Recently bought Sonos SUB Gen 3, paired with Playbase. Seems Sub boots slow compare to Playbase.Sonos Sub shows white solid led glowing and iOS app shows Playbase + ?. This happens for few seconds then it detects. Anybody facing this issues? Any solution? Is this issue or Sonos Sub booting takes more time?
I will be connecting a turn table to the Sonos amp in my basement. I have two floor standing speakers there. I was hoping to wire two passive bookshelf speakers in a different room (upstairs, formal living room) to the Sonos amp as wellto get that analog sound in a different room.It would be ideal to adjust the volume separately for two bookshelf speakers in the other room without affecting the basement speakers. I have read some about line level controller or connecting a mixer two the speaker wires then to the bookshelf speakers. I suppose even connecting a Sonos port would give me that control, but that is getting pretty expensive. I am even considering unplugging the speakers when we do not want them on upstairs. Let me know if anyone has any suggestions.
So I’ve recently bought a new TV and am finding the speakers pretty rubbish. I was looking at getting a Sonos product however am now torn between getting just the Arc or a Beam and adding two Ones to go along with it. Does Dolby Atmos really make that much of a difference that it can outshine two surround speakers?
I recently got a Sonos Roam and integrated into my system (which up until I purchased the Roam was an S1 system). It should be noted that the Roam -- at least for purposes of this post -- is constantly plugged in. And for the most part, the Roam has been working okay, but I have continually had to deal with one glitch:I group the Roam and some other speaker in my house. I play music and the music plays on all speakers. I pause the music or stop music for some period of time (more than a few minutes). I play music in the group again and the app appears to show all speakers playing music, but no sound is coming out of the Roam. This has happened repeatedly. It is a fairly easy fix: I can ungroup the Roam and then re-group it and it will start to play again. But obviously, that isn’t how the system is supposed to work. Is anyone else having this issue or have any idea how to fix it?
