I see a number of people who ask basically the same question. With the myriad of updates we’ve gotten, the dev team at Sonos can’t figure out how to add a sort option to the playlists? This seems so plebian and basic, it’s difficult to understand why it still hasn’t been done. Leads me to believe they give us this “community” and then pay zero attention to it. Oh, and yesterday I tried to search within my playlist for a song and it went out into Apple Music and wasn’t even remotely what I wanted to do. I wonder if anyone on the Sonos dev team actually uses the app?
I’m have a problem with a Sonos ARC, it disconnects from the Sub and Surrounds when the audio input becomes active (TV, BD Player turned on). It will reconnect to the Sub and Surrounds after all Sonos components are power cycled. It will stay connected to the Sub and Surrounds as long as the audio input stays active, but if the audio input becomes inactive and then active again it disconnects from the Sub and Surrounds. It does not matter if I use eArc or the optical audio from my TV or directly from a BD player. The only thing that seams to fix the problem is to wire all the Sonos components together. But it’s not an RF interference problem because once I get the ARC, Sub and Surround to work when the TV is on, they keep working until the TV is turned off and then back on. I didn’t have a problem a month ago but there was a firmware upgrade I think broke the system. My setup has to be wireless to separate the surrounds. Does anyone have a fix?
Any updates on bringing back the dates field to Stitcher podcasts? Removing the date field has made listening to podcasts un-usable to me. I’m really hoping this gets resolved. The date field was incredibly useful.
Roam needs a software option to NOT turn on automatically when it senses a SONOS system. If unplugged and being used within the home, it is constantly draining the devices battery which negates the entire purpose (and name) of this “mobile” speaker. Can anyone @ SONOS speak to software updates in the works that address this issue?
i have an arc and 2 one sl for rear i also have 2 stereo pair ones on the front i was wondering if it can be added to the arc as in guess 7.1 i was told is not available but would it be some day as a software update? as of now i use it as sync but the volume is only through the app so it can be at the same level if use it through the tv only the arc and surrounds functions is there any setup to control them synced through the tv remote as the arc and its surrounds?
I have a 5 year old macbook pro, the speakers are bad.I bought Wonderboom that I connect via bluetooth to improve the sound and it works ok but the Wonderboom disconnects freqently.I’m looking for better system and bought a small Bose. I need to delete and recreate the bluetooth connection every time I turn it on. It’s too much hastle for daily use.I looked at the B&O A1 which is expensive and big but would be a nice, quality speaker.I thought the Sonos would be a good choice but discussions here suggest otherwise. I have an iphone and several macs that I would use it with, it would be nice if I could easily use either the iphone or mac depending no need. I
i have a sonos beam. want to add two speakers for left and right stereo. what speakers to use and how do they connect to the beam??
Hello I guess I found a new software issue with the LG C1 in relation to the Sonos Playbar. Let me explain:At first, I’ve set the Sonos Playbar up to work with the LG C1, by following the instructions. Also, I used the Sonos App to connect my LG Magic Remote with the Playbar. So far so good. The problem is, that each time I turn the TV off, the connection between the LG Magic Remote and the Playbar disappears. For example: If I try to turn the volume up, a “Mute” symbol appears on my LG C1. Also at this moment, the Playbar doesn’t react to the Magic Remote anymore. The only way, I can make it work again, is by going to the TV settings and when I click on “Sound” I change the settings from “Optical out” to “TV Speakers” and then back to “Optical Out”. Suddenly, I can turn the volume up and down again, but only for this “Session”until I turn the TV off again. I’ve conacted Sonos and LG support yesterday. They both took notes of this issue, but apparently, I am the first one who is having
Please add DatPiff.com mixtapes as a streaming service.
So.. I have a turntable that I’d like to add to my Sonos system so I can listen to vinyl throughout the house. I have a pre amp too which could be used if necessary. What Sonos bit of kit do I now need please? Port? Amp? Many thanks in advance ajlj
Hi, Setup: TV connected to Arc + 2x Sonos 1 + Sub I compared the sound via Spotify app on TV V.S. Spotify Sonos app. I noticed a huge difference. Spotify app on TV: more bass, vocal is majorly coming from Arc Spotify Sonos app: bass is more balance, vocal is from surrounding sound (2x Sonos 1) I set the music playback = Full in Sonos app. The TV is outputting PCM while streaming Spotify app, but I believe the Spotify Sonos is using PCM too.I personally prefer the sound using Spotify Sonos app. So, it is a bit annoying that I have to switch to my phone every time I listen to Spotify. Anyone knows why there is a huge difference of sound experience? Thanks
Sonos team- I’ve seen countless threads in the community over the last year of how this Snooze feature does not work. It’s clear this is a big, and as a software engineer, I can tell you this is probably the simplest bug to fix. I’m sure you have other items in the backlog, but why has this simple feature not been addressed in over a year?!?! It’s clear the community wants it, and it’s clear this is a major value proposition of the Sonos One SL. please reply to my post as you have not replied to anyone who is facing the same challenge. This is an awful user experience, and as a public company I expect that you address customer issues in a more customer centric way by READING THE COMMUNITY BLOG AND ACTING ON IT Thank you
My Tivo Edge remote (attached to a LG OLED55G1PUA) is programmed using a Denon code (no Sonos codes are listed on Tivo). Having followed the Sonos pairing instructions, the MUTE button functions on the Tivo remote and but not the volume up or down. Any suggestions? Thanks.
HiI currently have two Play:1’s in my living room that are paired for music. I like the idea of getting a Playbase and using them as a home theatre setup (I know it is discontinued, but I can still find them online). I’m using the S1 app. Some questions if I may -If i pair them as rear speakers with the playbase, can I still use them as general speakers for music through the app (as I do now with the paired Play:1’s) Presume in use, I turn on the TV and then the Sonos and they then work together? when I turn off the TV I then also turn off the Sonos?Anything to watch out for?ThanksMark
Cannot connect my speakers because Sonos told me I’m in beta.
With Sonos not supporting anything other than the insecure/outdated SMB1, I feel like my love affair with Sonos has finally come to an end. After 10+ years, 10+ sonos players, and growing frustration I think Sonos doesn’t want my use-case as a user anymore. What other brands of multi-room speakers out there are worth investigating that can:• Play from my NAS (with up to date security credentials)• Not have a 64k track limit I don’t care about being able to talk to my speaker, I don’t care about streaming, I just want to listen to my personal music collection, on a network which is secure and not have to worry if I add another album that I will have to remove another from the library as it won’t fit.
hello, i am going to be purchasing In-Ceiling Speaker and Sonos AmpWhat is the max / preferred wire gauge? Thanks
Hi, I have a fairly large living room combined with dining room and kitchen, altogether about 50 square meters (530 square feet). Currently I have a Beam connected to TV. I was planning on adding surrounds and a sub, and I also wish to add a turntable at some point.First of all, is the Sub worth it in this setup? I am watching quite a lot of movies and tv shows and not listening to loud music as I have a small child.Second, as far as I understand, you cannot add the turntable to the Fives, if they are already used as surrounds, or has this changed? So I thought about two OneSLs and a Sub. And later turntable with a Five or maybe a Raspberry hack, or some other solution? In the situation of adding Five with turntable, is it possible to listen to music with one Five and a combo of Beam/SUB/OneSLs in the same room? Third, would it be a problem, if the surrounds are about 3 meters (10 feet) behind the couch, because the couch is not near wall and I don’t want to have stand with a speaker i
Hello everybody !I come from France, so I'm sorry if I do some mistakes with my english^^I have a playbar (+ 2 play 1 + sub) connected on my LG TV (OLED GX) and I use the spotify app on this TV to listen music (I also use my phone with WiFi, but it is very pleasant to have a big screen)But when the sound come from a TV, the Playbar set the sound in 5.1 as for a movie, and it is very worse than WiFi for music.Does anyone have a solution to have music setting on my playbar when I use Spotify on my TV ?The only solution I've found is using spotify on my PC connected on my TV.… Thank you everybody :)Rémi
Hello -I was thinking of buying a Sonos Arc (1x) and combining it with two Sonos One speakers (2x) (for rear surround - already own this pair) and also buying a Sonos Five (1x) as a center speaker (+ using it for dual use with my turntable). Do you think this setup would make sense? I understand that with the Arc and Five both being in the center (Arc right below my TV mounted on the wall + Five on the media console table below it) it might be redundant? Thanks a lot for reading and your help!
My home theatre room drops out intermittently (Playbar + Sub + 3s as surrounds), while playing music or radio, not while watching TV. This has happened for the last couple of weeks. All other rooms are solid. This problem started after replacing to a new Sony TV, which is also at the same time has we got new neighbours in the house next to house. So not easy to figure out, I guess. I’ve unplugged speakers, changed WiFi channel and also the SonosNet channel, and the problem persist. Looking for other solutions. Diagnostic 124111491Thx
Hey Guys,After some help here. My wife is keen on me replacing my 2 Sonos One rear speakers with in ceiling speakers to make our Sonos Arc surround system more discrete.I wanted to find out whether it was possible using a Sonos Amp to have the 2 Sonance in ceiling speakers as Sonos Arc surrounds (Will the Sonos Amp with its speakers just add to the existing Sonos Arc + Sub system)? Also, can anyone assist with what the sound quality is like compared to Sonos Ones? If you have a Sonos Arc + Sub system, is it a reasonable expectation that the in ceiling speakers will sound as good when playing music and watching surround movies? Thanks in advance
If I have 2 Play 5 speakers, how do I know which is left and which is right?
With the introduction of Dolby Atmos to Apple Music, will the Sonos app begin supporting Dolby Atmos and Lossless audio?
I’m planning on getting a pair of fives and pair them in horizontally (because that’s what works in my space). My understanding is that they will both carry the left and right channel is this orientation. Is there a way to get them to be left and right discreet speakers while paired in horizontal orientation?
