I have a customer who wants to install in a VERY large room….. Its a restaurant that is about 75 feet x 40 feet…. I was thinking of installing six either Fives, or ERA 300’s This will be in addition to multiple ERA 100’s spread around in other areas. This building is huge. Speakers would be mounted high close to the ceiling. The ceiling slopes from about 20 feet down to about 10 feet. I was thinking the six speakers would be laid out with 3 facing the other 3 towards the middle of the room… Would this provide good sound? Is it the right product? Any suggestions anyone has?
Are there different gens with the newer Sonos five….. I’ve seen black units with a while logo and I’ve seen black units with a black logo, are these units different hardware wise or is it purely cosmetic
Moderator Note: Google Translate- Why can't I see my Spotify playlist in Sonos (S2)? I subscribe to Tidal without any problems. I just created a Spotify account (free) to try it out, but as I said, I'm missing my playlist. All apps are updated with the latest versions.
Is firmware updated automatically?
Hello I want to buy Sonos move2 in china. Is it possible or not ? Because this is not available online in china.
Is it going to be possible again soon with the S2 app updates to access and play your local music files directly through the controller?I want to listen to audios in the 48khs sample rate without them being resampled and as I understand the only way to guarantee this is by using the app, but currently with no access to local music on my device the only other option is to install a NAS drive with a local media server which still requires a computer or laptop for that setup. It seems a hassle right now with Sonos just to achieve the basics. Does anyone have knowledge about how this works and what to expect?
As a staunch believer in the superiority SonosNet I was massively disappointed in the removal of SonosNet from the new devices. I found a keen work around Arc ultra users (even though I already sold mine). Get a sub gem 3 or older (Save a few bucks), and hardwire the sub to the arc ultra. This will use the Sonos subs connection to SonosNet. Make sure you don’t have any wifi network saved in your system. This could be used for the eras as well but you’d have to also buy an either net adapter (really Sonos?) amfthen use the sub connection or even a cheap used boost or port would work.
hi,can you can use a Sonos Era 100 Pro on Wi-Fi and use PoE (Power over Ethernet) only to power it, by using a PoE injector, which provides power but not data?
Hello, I would like to order Sonos products for our office and was wondering if I could purchase and pay for the products by invoice / BACS?
Hi. I have several connect amps 2017. Is there an advantage to upgrading my connect amps to a newer version?
Hello Sonos community,I’m struggling to find the best way to listen to music in the full setup: Arc Ultra, Era 300, Sub 4The music sounds completely different depending on the source, that is super annoying:Spotify from Sonos App vs Spotify from AppleTV Apple Music, … Airplay
I have just purchased the Sonos Arc Ultra (one week ago) and I am having issues with the sound not playing on some sky channels and fine on other channels. When I use it direct with the Tv’s Apps it seems to be working fine with Amazon and Disney etc but when playing it back from the SKY Q will not play properly I can see there are lots of other people with the same kind of issues Any advice would be appreciated
Hi All, In my living room I have a Beam, a Mini Sub, and a Five. Here are my dreams… 1. Have the Beam and the Mini Sub for watching TV / movies. 2.Be able to swap to the Five and Mini Sub when listening to just music / records. I want better quality audio than a sound bar can offer for music listening, plus my record player is on the other side of the room and want a speaker near that. 3. Being able to go all out and have the 3 speakers play. The issue I am running into is I cannot get the Five to join the others in one room on the app or I can only connect the Mini Sub to either the Beam or the Five. Is what I am dreaming possible?Does the Port solve any of this?Would a pair of Era 100’s and 300’s plus the Five make this possible and just ditch the sound bar?Ditch the single Five and go with a pair of 300’s or 100’s and keep the beam? But then theres the problem of turntable connectivity and the Port is pricey...Can I make a group with all the speakers and just mute the beam? Bonus
Once again my Sonos system can’t connect to the Relisten service. This has been ongoing for a few days now and their regular app works fine and so does the Relisten website. My Sonos says it can’t connect, however, via either my iOS app or my desktop app.
I have several Sonos speakers in the house, plus an integrated amp (NAD355 80w amp) that I used to use with an old Gen 1 Connect. I no longer use that Connect since it became glitchy. Otherwise, the amp currently only gets audio from a TV and connects to two tower speakers (Paradigm monitor). The NAD amp just died, and would be costly to repair.I think the best replacement is probably a Sonos Amp. I’ll be able to connect those speakers to the rest of the system again (plus use the TV).My questions are around the workflow of the Amp with the TV as well as audio streaming. My TV doesn’t have HDMI audio out. It has a small headphone jack or optical out, which I’d connect to the line in on the amp. I think there’s some auto-play from line-in functionality, but I haven’t used it:Does it work well? How seamless would it be to turn on the TV and have audio come out of my tower speakers via the Amp? I don’t want to have to get out my phone to tell the amp to play audio from the TV. Can volume
I have been forced to upgrade to the new app (I installed the desktop app on a new PC, which upgraded all my speakers - despite them being set not to upgrade, which then meant my Android app no longer worked) and despite all my fears, so far it isn’t as bad as I was dreading - and my NAS library is there, with artwork 😊. Hoping that well documented missing features (such as editing playlists) will come back soon 🙏🏻.There is one thing though that I can’t find and perhaps this is because it isn’t there. Most of the time I listen to streamed radio (BBC Radio 3 - and notice that the image is no longer visible in the app, which is surprising/disappointing, but not critical). In the past I have set up a queue which I can switch to easily when I decide that I don’t want to listen to the radio for a while. I can’t find any way in the mobile app to be able to find the queue - am I missing something?
I live in France and have been using Sounds to access Radio 4 live, for many years. I now hear I will not be able to do so. Any solutions please?
I’ve been using a Sonos Port for many months now making the switch to Sonos when the Apple Lossless support was introduced.I’m very happy with the solution and appreciate that ‘features’ take time to implement but I really do think its about time a better way to navigate through the Album and Artist lists is introduced. It is currently very laborious to have to scroll through complete A to Z lists just to get to the item you want.It surely should be possible to add a capability to jump to the starting letter of choice. Here’s hoping…Thanks
There’s a few small UX things in the new app that have been bothering me where I think the solution would be relatively easy to implement, at least on iOS, so I figured I’d share them somewhere, even if they’ve been discussed to death already. What I like about my suggestions is that they’re easy wins because they only require very small changes, without any new UI designs. They all involve simple tweaks to interactions or using existing UI components.1. The Back ButtonProblemWhen navigating settings or services the navigation happens inside a tree view inside a card that pops over the app. As is standard on iOS the user can go back up a level in the tree by pressing the back button or by swiping left-to-right. So on iOS I am conditioned to think I can swipe left-to-right if I see a back button. The problem with the Sonos app is that the top level of the tree shows a back button that can be used to dismiss the card, but I can’t swipe left-to-right. This always leads me to swipe a few tim
Currently, the soundbar volume is controlled by the volume buttons on your smartphone only when you are in the Sonos app. The moment you leave the Sonos app screen(this does not mean quitting the Sonos app), you cannot control the soundbar volume with the volume buttons on your smartphone. What bothers me is that I have to stay in the Sonos app all the time to control the soundbar volume. The moment I leave the app to do something else on my smartphone(for example, leaving the sonos app to text someone, or leaving the Sonos app to browse the internet for a while), I cannot control the soundbar volume. I have to come back into the app screen.P.S. Again, this assumes that you have left the Sonos app screen for a while, not that you quit the Sonos app.
With setup Era 300 + Ultra Arc have you notice a significant difference (musically speaking) between spotify and apple/amazon music Apple/Amazon have HD music. In the other hand, not spotify. Although I enjoy the music discovery from Spotify, I wander if it is time to switch to a music provider that has HD music. Knowing the lossless quality is better, can we actually ear a difference from the compression format offered from Spotify? Thank you in advance
Has anyone had any luck with the 100 song limitation on your Amazon Playlist? Under the previous App I had around 400 songs. Had to split up into 4 playlists. What a pain in the A$$.
This app which was absolutely fine 4 years ago is now a steaming pile of ****… Thousands wasted on hardware for an app that does not work… Funnily, I always thought that having a software component to the overall solution would be a good thing, allowing for continual improvements to the experience which each iterative release… What I didn’t consider, was a management team willing to make software changes to degrade and make the experience worse…Terrible company with terrible culture! I recently jumped the gun and installed four sonance in ceiling speakers with a Sonos amp controlling them. I already have a Samsung soundbar for the tv with a wireless subwoofer from Samsung. Now stuck trying to figure out if possible to have all speakers work at the same time for the tv? Would love to have the four ceiling speakers and sound bar work at the same time but concerned I can’t link all together. Help please
Hi everyone,I recently got a Sonos Move, and I’m wondering if it’s possible to pair multiple Bluetooth devices at the same time? I’d like to switch between my phone and laptop without having to reconnect manually every time. Thanks!
