Hello, I tried looking for conversation that would help me place my ERA 300 for surround sound.  I recently purchased a large package with the ERA 300’s as the surrounds.  Where I will place them is in a big open room in which I can not place them at eye level behind the sofa.   I have been directed by my significant other that she will not allow any stands behind the listining area and no movement of furniture.  I have attached pictures of place areas on the wall where she is ok with having having them.  They would be 8 feet high, with close to 3 feet above the speaker on the first ceiling shelf only getting higher from there.  They would be close to 2 feet behind the listening area.  I was going to order the angled wall mounts that can angle down to around 30 degrees and to the side 5 degrees.  Do you all think this would be acceptable placement with my limitations.  Any advice welcome that could help me with placement without upsetting the gf.

That appears to be the best solution for mounting as from your conversation you are limited as far as placement options are concerned. Ideally 6 ft above floor level would be recommended. however, I can see how they might be come an obstacle (when standing upright) unless you and your significant other are way under 6 ft in height.

You mentioned purchasing “Angled wall mounts”. I would suggested sticking with the Sonos brand.

Another thought….you may not be “out of the woods” just yet. As I wonder how your significant other is going to feel about power cords hanging down from each speaker; as I can see no power receptacle high on the wall. 😂

Thank you for the advice!, I am going to get an electrician

to install electric plugs above the first ceiling crown and run the cord through the wall so it will be hidden.  I was thinking 6 feet but on the other side is a waterfall that prevents placement at 6 feet.  The angled mount is the Sanus adjustable mount that is on Sonos website.  Soundbass also has one that has slightly more vertical adjustment.  Do you think that I need to invert the 300’s or will 2.5 feet be enough vertical space above the speaker.  I guess when it’s angle down it will have more space as at an angle the top part of the speaker will point towards the higher part of the ceiling.

Here is the guide for inverted wall mounting of Era 300’s. However, yours isn’t a traditional ceiling (flat) as Sonos most likely had in-mind when making the recommendation below.  You might contact Sonos Tech Support for a definitive answer.
