This is only a recent issue for me as I have switched from using a Port connected to an amp to an Era 100 in the bedroom.

But minimum volume of 1% is too loud for nighttime use.

 

I see it’s been an ongoing issue for years 

 

And my Play 1s are the same but not really an issue as I don’t use them in the same way.

Is this ever going to get fixed or is it just tough, that’s how it is?

 

It’s my only gripe with my system but it’s quite a big issue and possibly the issue that makes me have to try something else.

As Sonos hasn’t done anything about this issue for quite a while, as you can see from your quoted thread, have you tried any of the several potential solutions in the meantime, such as moving the speakers further away from your listening position, or even turning them around in position? 

Well yes, if I do that they will be just as loud but further away or facing the wrong direction.
