This is the only thing holding Sonos back from taking throne as the best sounding and most compatible home speaker system in 2022You can do it, we know you can. If you wish, charge us for it. That way, only those who have paid a certain premium like $100 for DTS-X and DTS-HD compability can get compatiblity and regular updates via software.
Good morning,For an interactive installation, we are planning to use a Sonos system to add sound to several spaces that have multiple light installations. The light installations are controlled through a mobile app, and the sound of each installation must react to the user input, as a kind of live audio installation. We can’t install any ethernet cables or audio cables to setup a traditional or Dante audio system, so we plan to do it with WiFi and several Sonos speakers. We’ve seen that with Sonos Port you can stream stereo line-in audio to Sonos speakers connected to the same network, assuming a minimum of 75ms of delay between the signal in and the final out through the speaker. For the installation, we have a computer with a sound card, delivering 12 different sound signals that come from a live music app such as Max or Logic pro. In other words: they are like 12 computer speakers playing live the sound signals from the computer. We are planning to connect each of this 12 outputs to m
See this request goes back at least 6 years and as a recent move to the Sonos Ecosystem I am seeing two issues I wish could be addressed. 1) Default Volume when going from pause to play after 30 minutes or some other time for a device. My Bathroom One in particular as the volume for that one is all over the place depending on the event and time. 2) Ungrouping devices when all are turned off so that the default later when turned on is ungrouped. All of these issues are about not having someone get caught off guard when you hit play on a device at a later time. Like when I turned on my bathroom One and turned on the Amp in the Living Room unexpectedly. Or when it was 5 am and I was trying not to wake my wife when I was in the shower only to wake the dogs and my wife when I turned on the Sonos. BTW: These features are standard on most AV Receivers.
Just got it from Sonos Online Store last Friday. I am very happy with it, but when repositioning it before running TruePlay, I noticed that while grabbing it, I could hear a somewhat loud creaking noise in the left part of it. Found out that the seam on the bottom of the Arc is not flush but rubbing, causing the creaking.Already arranged an advance replacement with Sonos, but I wonder how common are these kind of issues. One other doubt: does anyone of you used the advance replacement? Is the replacement unit a new, retail unit? Sonos representative said so. Thank you in advance for your input.
I have a sonos connect. I can either:a: have my flac files on plex and play them through sonosb: use the sonos app on the mini to add those files to my music library and play from there.I've had some issues with b since i think the sampling rate on some of the files is not supported by sonos. However using plex to transcode seems to work for all music files. Is there any issue with going through plex vs. the sonos music library in terms of sound quality?
Hi, Anyone else wishing for a self powered in ceiling / in wall speaker without the need for a separate amplifier? Wouldn’t it be nice to just connect a power cord hidden in the ceiling and be done with the install and not have to run speaker cables across the entire house to where an amplifier can be placed?/ Martin
I’m doing the music for my next high school reunion and need some feedback on whether or not I can use Sonos equipment. Wifi and internet at the reunion venue won’t be accessible. I’m thinking of using 3 Play 5’s with my own router and create a wifi network in the ballroom. The music source will be on an IOS device via Airplay. The question is will this work without internet?
I have an Arc, two 5's and dual Gen 3 subs hooked to a 77" LG G1 EVO OLED. Any benefit to running these through a Pioneer Elite Reciever or compatible reciever. Can it be done properly?
I’ve been trying to subscribe to Radio HD for about three months without luck. When I select sign up for free trial it kicks me back to a profile page. This happens on different PCs with different browsers. I’ve contacted support and frankly they were worthless. Here is a short video that is occurring:https://www.screencast.com/t/KWc6smknNWBI thought perhaps it was a temporary issue. Sometimes I will get a popup, short 1-2 seconds that states that it is temporarily down. I waited several weeks to see what would happen. Same problem. I thought I would email the CEO on the support page. Of course, that link doesn’t work. This is ridiculous. I have about 20k of Sonos stock that I’m going to dump as soon as I can. I thought this was a buying opportunity for Apple, Wrong.
I've been having this issue With my setup I have the Sonos beam the two speakers for surround sound and the sub gen 3. every time when I watch the Venom movie both of them it likes to pop the first Venom movie when Venom is introduced and he gets up and fixes Eddie's body and he says eyes lungs and pancreas I think that's what he says when he says eyes at pops. and I've tried everything and a lot of people are having this issue but nobody can figure it out as far as I can tell then I realized I only had the Sonos beam and it doesn't support Dolby Atmos so I'm like okay I wanted to upgrade my system so I bought the Sonos Arc and it's a hell of a lot different that's for sure but it still Pops at the exact same time now it doesn't happened with all my other movies is like once in a while it does it but that's all so if anybody can help me out that would be great. I did submit a Diagnostics the number is 50441408 . So I don't know if it's just the heavy bass or what
Hey Gang! I have a SONOS Arc system currently as my main TV Audio set up: The ARC is connected via eARC from my 2021 LG G2 77” panel. For the rear surrounds I have two SONOS Five’s, and a Sub to round out the “Atmos” system. The two inputs i have for watching content are 1. AppleTV 4K (primary) and 2. a Panasonic DP-UB820 4K disc player (for films I really love and want to have great sound/picture). I have had no issues with the sound output fro the AppleTV, but with the Panasonic Player, if it’s encoded to 7.1 (using the Arrival - the Amy Adams one - 4K disc as an example), it only outputs to “Stereo PCM.” Looking at the sleeve it’s encoded to 7.1 so I am assuming this might be the issue. The other native audio tracks on the disc are unhelpful since the Dolby 5.1 is ‘descriptive audio’ which I don’t need. My other discs (Dune, Blade Runner 2049, MCU films) are all out putting correctly. Wondering if there’s a solve? Conversely, when i watch Arrival on AppleTV (the version I p
Am I required to return the Playbase I upgraded to Arc or can I remove it from my system and give it to a family member? Thank you.
My sonos app will not show up in my lock screen. I have disconnected all other devices including airpods. I’ve restarted the app. I’ve toggled the setting for lock screen on and off. I’ve turned both my phone and the system off and on. I’ve uninstalled my sonos and reinstalled. Is there anything else that can be done to correct this issue? Moderator note: We updated this article in October 2023 with new information below. We’ve removed the ability to control the Sonos app for iOS using lock screen controls and device hardware buttons. The way these features were architected do not meet Apple’s experience guidelines for developers and no longer offer a reliable control experience. The alternatives to controlling volume, mute, tracks that I’m aware of are:Voice control (acknowledging OP rejects this option) Opening up app on phone (again, acknowledging rejection) ‘hard buttons’ on the speakers themselves. For home theatre room, TV remote controls will control volume and mute Various third
Hi, is there a good way to test each of the speakers in the Sonos Arc? Would be great diagnostic feature to add to the app. I’ve seen some one say put your head close to each speaker whilst playing, however, wondering if there is any other method. does Sonos have anything that will put a tone through each speaker at a time?
Hello. I am looking for a way to switch to Bluetooth mode on the Sonia roam from the app. Since I have put the speaker out of normal reach, I would like to have the ability to put the Roam in Bluetooth connection mode through the app.
Hello,I believe it makes a lot of sense to enable the SONOS Roam to work as a surround speaker. My suggestion, is that when the speaker(s) is on the dock, it will be set as a surround speaker, and when you remove it from the dock it will become an independent speaker. Personally, I would buy another speaker if this worked. Thanks!
My sonos one sl arrived with some discoloured marks that don’t wipe off on the speaker grill. I’ll attach pics. Any advice as to what this is and what I can do about it?
Hi, I have just been speaking to someone about setting Sonos up on my tv, the lady said she recommends that I buy a Beam and I asked her what generation, she said they only do a generation 2 but I have just seen a few generation 1s for sale around my area, can someone help me out on this please? Thankyou
I was wondering if there any way to connect a Sirius XM receiver which is in a Sirius home dock to Sonos speakers without use of the internet. Would a Bluetooth adapter maybe work for this?
At present I have connected the Move to the Apple TV but cannot control the volume. Therefore, I need to connect the Apple TV remote to the Sonos Move. From other users, I understand I need to open the Sonos app, go to settings > system > select unit (Move) and then Remote Control Setup. However, I don’t see “Remote Control Setup” in the menu.Is this a restriction of the Move, or is there another way to connect to the Apple TV remote?
The sound is great for the space but the IR range on it sucks so bad that I tried putting in an IR repeater with a blaster on the bottom of my TV, but I guess that the top sensor only works if it is mounted vertically. Any thoughts?
Hi, everyone ! I have Sonos Beam and Sub which is S2 compatible and an old Sonos Connect Amp S1 with in-ceiling speakers . Now it seems like there is no method to use Sonos Connect Amp S1 as a surrounds for Beam S2 ? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hello all, So I’m looking into installing a sound system in some areas of my house, and I was looking into SONOS because I was told they’re simple to install, and they all connect to each other. So my question is, what would I need to install the following in my house and get it all working together: Living Room = 4 Ceiling speakers.Kitchen = 2 Ceiling Speakers.Outside area = 2 Speakers. That’s it, and I’m guessing a Sub for the Living Room area? Could anyone help me on what I would need apart from the speakers and the sub? How many Amps and anything else to connect them all together or individual zones? Thank you.
Hi. I see at times my Sonos S2 and S1 apps losing connections to my speakers my new Mac Mini M1. Is there a date for when a M1 native app will be released?
I have Sonos Arc with two Sonos Fives as surround speakers that’s connected to TV with my Roku box. When watching tv, voice volume is not ideal as it’s primarily coming from Arc. I know I can adjust the volume in the app but it’s still not the ideal when watching. I end up pumping the volume up and. It becomes too loud.Is there a way to make the voice from TV come out of the 2 Sonos Fives I have? Also, when I play Spotify or Apple Music from the Sonos app, it sounds amazing (full and robust) as it’s coming primarily for my 2 Sonos Fives. How can I make it sound like that when watching TV (from Roku). Can I connect 2 Sonia Ones to this as well? Will it help?
