Current Sonos products in my living room listed below. Is this an optimal surround system system? From what I read, Sonos Ray is a step back in quality, so that is not an option. Just received my Roam today. Heads up for everyone as it’s not made clear anywhere prior to purchase that it’s only compatible with the new version of the app.  This means if you have “legacy” Sonos products as part of your set up and use the S1 app to control them you won’t be able to see your Roam as part of your existing Sonos network.  You have to download the new version of the app and then set up a new Sonos system to add the Roam to it. Then you have to add all your music services, any favourites etc etc again to the new app to be able to access them on your Roam.  Pretty s*it experience to be honest, and annoying it’s not made clearer. By having “old” products Sonos doesn’t want me to have in my network I’m effectively left with a bog standard stand alone portable speaker. Struggling to see the benefit of it over a JBL Bluetooth speaker at the moment to be honest (build quality and sound quality aside obviously 😆).  Anyway heads up for those of you still mulling over the purch

The Sonos Ray sounds perfect for my system. My question is this. I don’t use my TV remote but rather the Apple TV (4K 64 GB) Remote!  Is this going to work if the Sonos Ray is plugged into my TV an LG 27 UN850?

Hi, updated to 14.2 today and suddenly noticed that songs with special characters in the filename or title (have not investigated in depth yet) won't be played from the local library.I remember this problem from 13.1 and it was fixed in 13.3.Anyone else experiencing this?Really frustrating this happening again. EDIT: Seems to work now after a couple hours. Did some rescans before, so not sure what changed things. Will observe.

I have a Sonos one, Sonos one SL and Gen 2 beam. Plus a few other Sonos products. Whenever I connect the Sonos one, it works for a few hours. Then. When I go back to play something, it's gone. I tried to set a stereo setup with sonos one SL and it still disappears. These are $300 speakers. Why does this keep happening? WiFi signal good. 1gb internet. Hard reset done 3 times. Moved closer to router. Reset router. I've done of all the "diy" stuff that I can think of and it is quite frustrating.

Couldn’t find the answer to this but was wondering if I could use the Sonos Arc with the Beam as the rear speaker for a home theater setup. Considering they can both do Atmos...was thinking it could be a nice setup. Thoughts?

Had to start a new topic because the “best answer” fails to address the question and the topic has been closed for further comment. (Side note: how does a “best answer” literally start with “I do not understand what you are saying”?) Anyway, I’m trying to set alarms to play music in two rooms at a specific, recurring time.1. When creating an alarm, the Rooms menu allows individual rooms to be selected, and there is also an option to “Include Grouped Rooms”.2. I can toggle “Include Grouped Rooms” but nothing new appears.3. I then go to system settings, where “Groups” is greyed out, and it says “This feature is available on systems with three or more rooms.”4. I have two speakers, which are in separate rooms, and which I commonly group and un-group, depending on who is in each room, so leaving them grouped at all times is not a viable solution, and adding a manual routine to my evening (remembering to open the Sonos app to group my speakers before bed) is an obnoxious and likely unsustai

What is the range of the Roam in relation to the Amp, using Wi-Fi?   And Bluetooth?

Hi - I have the Sonos amp connected to two 3rd party ceiling speakers and my TV. Would the Sonos subwoofer be able to pair to the amp? Or would the speakers need to be Sonos too?cheers, nick

If this is true, I’m not sure what I think about it. I guess there is a market for lower-priced sound bars, and I’m sure the “Fury” would sound great in a small room. The article also mentions that it can be used as a surround speaker in its vertical orientation. When I switched to HDMI 1 (COX Box) and select a TV channel on my Cox box, the TV screen would show the channel for a few seconds, then screen would go black for a few seconds, and repeat over and over.After much troubleshooting, I found the solution was to upgrade to the newest COX Contour 2 TV Box. It is a free upgrade for ppl with older boxes (my Cox Box was over 4 years old).

I am moving into a new home.  I would like a speaker out side-not wired in but would like to leave it outside.  Inside I would like a speaker in the kitchen, master bath, art room and living room.  Sometimes I will want them all playing at the same time and other times just in one area. What are your recommendations.  Thanks. 

hey all, i have had the same setup for years a play five or play one in every room and a sonos connect to control it all. I recently added a playbar and ive been told i dont need the connect any longer. does the playbar take over as master ?note all speakers are wireless but the connect is wired thanks !

Hi 👋🏻 Lots of old posts about this but nothing recent so just checking that my understanding of the process is correct.We have several products that are eligible, our speakers are play:1 and play:5. We cannot at the moment afford to buy new versions of everything and are wondering if we were to choose the upgrade process are the old devices rendered unusable by Sonos? (Software update that stops then being used for example) or can they continue to be used. Also does the discount have to be used on a like for like product? therefore we couldn't upgrade our existing play:1 to a 5 for example?thanks in advance

Has anybody experienced problems with their desktop app after updating macOS to 12.3.1?when I open the app I get the spinning beachball of death and message that it’s searching for my sonos system. Every thing was fine until this update, and my iOS apps work fine on phone and iPad. My system has both wired and wireless components , but nothing shows up on the desktop app. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app but when I click on join existing system the veachball e turns and will spin to the end of time if I let it.

So, I got the fancy email for the new Roams. It says 0s all the way around which means I should be able to order but yet when I click it goes to a dead page and I can’t find it on the website. HELP!

Hi allI have a LG CX connected to a Sonos ARC via eARC and HDMI 2.1 cable. I use the internal PLEX webos app to play back a variety of ripped media.Plex server is running latest verion on Windows 11. Ryzen 5950x, 32GB Ram and RTX3070 gfx card. Enough to handle just about anything.Sonos ARC doesn't supports DTS after update (convertes to PCM I believe)The LG CX doesn't support DTS at all but pretty sure was updated to support 8 channel PCM. It will support TRUE HD + ATMOS via HDMI from an external source (bluray player etc). Internal sources (apps) will not passthrough True HD.The TV HDMI sound output is set to passthrough (webos settings).Plex webos app on LG CX set to accept all sound formats except DCA/DTS.When playing media back via the Plex app TRUE HD is converted to Dolby Digital+ by the Plex server (confirmed by looking at Sonos app and plex dashboard).DTS (unsupported by TV) is converted is to AAC by the Plex server (confirmed by plex dashboard). Hi Community - will I lose any sound quality, create lag, or run into compatability issues in this setup? + Projector (back of room ViewSonic px701hd)+ AppleTV/AmazonFireStick/Roku Stick - directly connected to projector with HDMI+ Sonos Connect Gen 1 - running optical to HDMI output adapter out of Connect and HDMI cable into projector (no eARC avail)+ Sonos Beam - at front of room wirelessly bonded via Connect+ 2 Sonos Play:1 - back/side surround speakers wirelessly bonded via Connect I assume running a direct line across the room out from projector 3.5mm and converting to optical for Connect wouldn't gain anything? Ok, I’ve seen some old articles saying you’ll likely not have Sonos in your car… well if figures that since March 2022, Sonos does make systems for the car, starting with Audi… Well, I’ve got a new Audi now and had no choice but to have Sonos with it… now, I have no other Sonos product… only the Sonos system installed in my car. Does the App connect if you don’t have it registered with any other product? is this something that Sonos is thinking of bringing to the car (if it’s not available yet)? Do you generally need the App as a way to fine tune the quality of listening? Because I haven’t been able to balance the system to sound good enough (using the controls from the car)...
