I have the newest Sonos amp powering 6 Sonance Satellite speakers around my pool. I have an outdoor projector I would like to occasionally use and was hoping I could use the RCA inputs to connect for sound. My projector has the headphone outlet that came with an adapter that splits from the small (3.5 I think) output on the back of the projector to the red and white RCA plugs. I plugged those directly into the red/white RCA inputs on the Sonos Amp and tried to use the "line-In" option from my Sonos app on my phone, but am getting no sound. Is there a way for me to do this?
At the beginning of May I purchased two SANUS speaker stands for my SL One’s. One of the speaker stands has a faulty part as in the base does not screw into the upright - it’s poorly manufactured.Since receiving the item and trying to set it up I’ve been back and forth with SONOS to have a replacement sent. It’s now been 4 weeks! and I’ve still not had a replacement sent or the correct returns procedure given to me.Is SONOS service always this poor?????
I have an Arc for the front of the theatre with a sub woofer.I also have a pair of in ceiling architectural speakers in the rear ceiling. These are also sort of in the kitchen area as the room isn’t that large. The pair of rears are connected to an amp so i can have the full 5.1 but i was wondering if i wanted the rear pair to just play music as a zone of audio like the rest of the house is it easy to switch between the rears being music zone only to then be a part of the 5.1I didn’t think i needed to buy a second amp for one pair but maybe in the Sonos app / settings it’s just switching there?
I have a turntable for about 6 months I am having issues with the sound being muted or muffled, especially vocals on my records. Are there any setting on the Sonos 5 that need to be adjusted to clear up the sound quality? Could it be the needle on the turntable?
Maybe I'm the only one who feels this way (I’m not), but the way I'm marketed to in the Sonos S2 app feels thirsty and crass. Most companies allow their users to opt out of marketing communications because that decision should really be up to the users. And before anyone suggests App Preferences > Allow Pop-up Messages, it's more than just disabling pop-up ads. The little blue badge that appears over the Inbox icon and also over the My Sonos tab icon in the app tray preys on the learned behaviour that notification badges are calls-to-action and get many users to try to figure out how to make them go away. Users are forced to view these ads in order to clear the badge. It's manipulative and encourages the notification anxiety/addiction problems that most ethical app developers are finally starting to move away from. It's especially crass because I have literally paid for your products already, so putting self-promoting ads in an app that only works if I/someone gave you money for somet
Any info on what the fixes are for this? I want to play my Moves outside but not if it means resets and frustrations once the battery passes 50%
I would like to know if this is a good solution to play hi res files (24bit 192khz) on a sonos five stereo system. As far as I know and read in div. threads in this forum it is not possible to stream Apple Hi-Res lossless via the Sonos app (only AAC 256). Amazon Music Ultra HD or Quobuz/ Tidal is limited to 24bit 48khz.Streaming from Apple Devices via Airplay is also limited to lossless (16bit 44khz).That's why I thought about the following:Usage of my Apple Devices (Mac or iPad) via DAC (e.g Topping DS 50 or FIIO) connect via USB and then use line in to Sonos five. I can see (via a borrowed RME ADI2 ) that I receive 24bit 192khz from my Apple devices. My question now is: is the SONOS five directly using this stream without any further conversions, or does it convert the stream, when it is played locally via the wired connection described above (Mac-USB-DAC-jack plug -Line in Sonos five)?Anyone using this solution already? How does it sound? Thanks a lot, regards tomyc
This is basic enough that I must just be missing it somewhere in the App. How do I change the order of the podcast episodes in the Sonos app for PocketCasts? I want the oldest unplayed episode on top, not the most recent.
My Sonos S2 app (up-to-date) has once again stopped working on Android 11, showing only screens with blank placeholders for everything except System, where it wants me to update the firmware on my Sonos One pair.Aside from the fact that I don’t generally want to install updates to make unknown changes to a stable system that I’m not asking for, and I resent being forced, my particular issue is that I’m afraid of losing access again from my Win7 desktop. It took a considerable effort of working around annoying Sonos roadblocks to get the mandatory S2 app running (with limitations) on Win7, and I’m afraid if I do one of these irreversible firmware updates on the speakers the Win7 app will tell me it can no longer access the speakers because Sonos has arbitrarily decided that it can’t.I know this is likely pointless grumbling, but is there any way we can get Sonos to consider:stop forcing unnecessary firmware updates make it clear what historical functionality will be lost with each firmw
I’m putting a gym in my new townhouse. The room is large with tall ceilings - 13’ ceilings & about 22’x23’ dimensions. I want a killer Sonos system in there to blast high quality music (alternative, rock, hip-hop). I’m willing to spend up to $4K.I’m considering the following and would love any input, advice.-2 Sonos Five’s and 1 Sonos Sub-Sonos Amp with 2 floor standing or 4 bookshelf speakers-Sonos Port (I have an extra one) with a 3rd party power amplifier and 2 floor standing or 4 bookshelf. If you suggest one of the latter couple options, I’d love to know any ideas for Speakers & Power Amplifier. I’m not super familiar with brands. I’ve been reading a lot of good stuff about Kef and Klipsch lately. Any specific combos of amp & speakers for this use case would be great. Thanks
I currently have:2x Sonos One Sub Amp, which powers 2 non-Sonos wall speakers. This is plugged into the TV through the HDMI eARCI tried to setup a surround system with the 2 Sonos Ones as the rear speakers but it wouldn’t let me.If I added one of the sound bars (Arc/Beam)would I now be able to use my Sonos Ones as rear speakers in a 5.1 system? will the sound bar and Amp (+ wall speakers) be able to play together through wireless Sonos magic? Or will I have to get an eARC splitter or something and plug both of them into the TV?thanks in advance (edit: wow time to change my username I guess. Was peeved with all the old speakers going obsolete but I’ve been happy with Sonos lately)
I take my Sonos Roam with me to work. I’d love to listen to Sonos Radio HD..but apparently you have to be part of the “network” that is connected at home to play it - not sure if that’s because HD sound needs higher bandwidth or something else. So two questions: You still can’t use Sonos HD Radio unless you’re part of your “main” network, correct? If #1 is correct, will that ever change so if you are on the go you can listen over cellular/bluetooth? I mean even if it’s not HD audio, just the fact it’s available would be nice. My understanding is that you can’t listen at all unless you’re part of the main home network.
One of my original “Connect Amps” has failed and I must replace it with the newer “Amp”. I currently have an original “Bridge” hard-wired to my Ethernet switch in a convenient location and the Bridge communicates wirelessly to the Connect Amp. Will this setup work with the newer Amp? I’d rather not run an Ethernet cable to the place where the Amp must be located.
I knew this was bound to happen…My 25+ y.o. Marantz died a year and a half ago. I was using it for both TV and music.I could just buy another ampli to replace it, since the speakers were (are) still good, but I wanted something “smart”, streaming capable, more compact (speakers are 50x30x20cm approx), lighter, and I’m no audiophile. I usually “hear” the music while I do something else, don’t just sit in my sweet spot listening to it, or just do it briefly. In the end I decided to try something different, and got the Beam, knowing it was a compromise. Nice, but a bit lacking for music, bit shallow, no depth. So I added a Sub:The set up is pleasant indeed, and satisfying for some kind of music (…whenever bass is heavily involved). But recently I got myself a decent couple of earbuds, and realized I’m missing separation, definition and details. What to do?Add a couple Ones. In the front, right and left side of the Beam, to be used only for music, or back to also serve as sorround, but losin
So today I recieved an email saying that Sonos Radio was now available on the web, the email linked me to a website where I could sample stations for 45 minutes tops. Is this the planned extent for this web radio feature?
First of I want to say that I have been using Sonos products since 2009. Besides Sonos, I had a lot of gear but none of it could match Sonos's ease of use and sound quality (for the price). I have to come clean and say that I am used to using Sonos everywhere and I love it. As an audiophile, I was looking to replace my aging Sonos Connect with Port and realized from all the reviews that it does not have a better digital output. This was a show stopper for me and it is a show stopper for all audiophiles out there. You are missing a very important niche of the market. It is taken by Raspberry Pie implementations and Bluesound and Aurelia, not because they have better software or support for services, but because they have a better digital output. That is it. Nothing else. Everyone I have talked to said they like Sonos but the digital output is jittery. I have tried a lot of solutions and even they sound better than Connect over coax they are all not easy to use, do not have support for t
Does plugging into Ethernet degrade audio performance of ATMOS or other content in any way or can it only help with bandwidth for streamed audio content? My understanding is... as long as optical adapters to port audio into the arc are not used, and the eARC from the tv is used via a quality HDMI cable, it will have the bandwidth to carry the Atmos content from the tv to the arc. (Obviously the quality into the tv also matters.) Basically don't try to use optical period. If I have hard wired ethernet, plugging ethernet is better than wifi. I have hard-wired ethernet to the Arc, and I use the hdmi over eArc from the tv to the Arc. I was hoping someone can confirm this is optimal? Also, for sonos sub, and/or one sl's ....plug the ethernet directly in or let the built-in wifi from the Arc push this to those speakers? Which is more efficient/better/etc.? Wondering if there are tradeoffs to consider. I appreciate any insight any Sonos engineers might be able to provide. Thanks in advance!
Anyone know how to make this work?
Sonos has just sent me an email saying ‘Whats new on Sonos Radio’ here in the Uk Telling me great news Sonos Radio is online click on link to go to our new Radio Page WRONG the link takes me to their existing page with there products etc.anyone else received this premature email this morning looked online and see no new announcement from Sonos either
When adding new sub-folders to the main folder in Music Library, is there a way to rescan the folder so that the new sub-folders are added?Or..Is the solution to delete the folder then add the folder after adding the new sub-folders?Mitch
When is this coming, either through casting (not bluetooth) or as a service?
Hello team, Any plan for such a new feature in the S2 app ?
Does anyone know any website apart from eBay and other marketplaces to buy old discontinued Sonos Play-1. I already have a Play-1 and recently bought a Beam 2. I would like to pair the existing Play-1 with the Beam to setup surround speakers. Since the old Play-1 and One SL can’t be paired I’m looking to buy the old Play-1. Upgrading to two One SLs would be expensive for me. Any leads on this is much appreciated. Even if someone is willing to sell, happy to make an offer.
Hi there,I have an amp that is connected to 3 pairs of Sonos Sonance ceiling speakers in my living room. Can I connect a Sonos turntable to that same amp? I’d like to be able to play records over the living room speakers. Thanks,Derrek
