I have a few Sonos products and over 100gb of music on my phone (Google pixel 7) but I can't play my music through my system anymore.Can someone please advise me on what I need to do to play music off my phone through my system?

Hi: Is it a good idea to upgrade from 15.5 to 15.8.1?I only have a beam2 and sub mini and I like the way it sounds on 15.5.I usually hear that sometimes there are problems with updates: lower sound, updates that don't finish, etc.I usually always upgrade but I don't know if 15.8.1 can improve the "simple" system I have.Thanks. 

I have a Beam for coming up 3 years. It was working okay, the next minute just stopped playing and powered off. DIE. I tried different outlets and factory reset but nothing worked. I reached out to the customer service. They offered a 30% discount for the next purchase. Is that the best Sonos can do? is that the service you expect from Sonos?

I know it won’t pair Bluetooth but that doesn’t matter to me. But I would like to set up a stereo pair for use in my backyard. A related question: Could I set up a Move 1 and 2 as surrounds with my Beam 2?I understand if it’s possible I’d have to go through set up procedures whenever I change from one to the other, but that’s fine since it won’t be frequent. 

Hello all! I would like to get our opinions on which of the devices described in the title would you choose to use the HDMI 2.1 with the support of eARC if the other ports in your TV were only HDMI 2.0 ports with regular ARC, and why.

I have updated my iPhone 13 Pro to IOS 17 and have installed the latest SONOS 15.8 software but cannot run Trueplay to retune my system as it is not yet supported “for this iPhone” which I guess isIOS 17. I know IOS 17 has only been publicly available since yesterday 18/9/23 but surely SONOS had sufficient warning to make the S2 App compatible ?

I’ve come to own a Playbar and several Sonos One speakers for free through a friend. I was thinking of adding a Sub mini but I am worried about the life spans of these products. Sonos claims they will support products for 5 years after end of sale dates.Sonos seems to have stopped selling playbar around 2020 So that’s already 3 years. If I buy a sub mini I would be buying into an ecosystem with only 2 years left on the Playbar? (I can’t find end of sale dates for Sonos One).Just want to confirm if my understanding / math is correct here. And to find out the end of support day for Sonos One speakers. P.S.: I’m new here so apologies if this info is easily available.

Hi, I’m going to open a concept store soon and wonder which Sonos I should pick for the shop.  It’s an open space of 120m2 with 4 meters high ceiling.  Is the HiFi Set a good choice? Or something else? 

Raising this because some other threads look old. I’m dumbfounded that the Sonos app has no information about release dates, album credits, lyrics, artist descriptions, album descriptions, and so forth. All of the major music services have found a way to do this, surely Sonos can too. Not to mention no way of viewing the audio quality of an album (ie atmos) before clicking play. For Apple Music, this means that you have to research what albums are in atmos or hi res lossless, then go back to the Sonos app, search for the album, play it & then verify if it is actually playing atmos or not. This is very time consuming and a real pain in the ***.  I’m tempted to ditch Sonos soon, purely because Sonos really can’t seem to get their act together on the software front. And reading prior threads, the response seems to be to punt the responsibility to the third party service, saying there’s nothing that can be done on the Sonos side. I don’t know, maybe set up a call or two with developers

I stream good-quality 320 kbps MP3 music files from a Synology DS120j to a Sonos Beam (Gen 2) with Sub Mini using the Sonos app. We are full-time RVers, but when we had a house I used all FLAC files via a Logitech Squeezebox Duet, a good class A/B amplifier, and some high-end transmission line speakers. Obviously, there’s not room for that stuff in the RV! Anyway, I’ve recently learned that replay gain can be applied to files to even out the volume levels of the listening experience. I’ve downloaded Foobar2000 and explored the replay gain function, but I’m not completely clear on file vs. album (and whether or not “album” can mean every file on the server) replay gain - and some of the numbers from the analysis don’t look right to me. Can the group enlighten me on this topic - how to go about it and the pros/cons? I have recordings dating from the ‘60s to the present… folk, folk-rock, some eclectic stuff, and all the way up to contemporary artists and recordings - but no classical. Jus

Hello All, Looking for advice.Current setup: I have a Sonos AMP connected through the ARC port to my LG TVThe Amp is connected to my 3rd party Kenwood Sub and also 2 kenwood L & R speakers on either side of the TV. Proposed budget setup: I wish to get 2 sonos play 5 speakers to replace the L & R speakers.Would this be a resonable setup? Thanks 

I am hoping someone can explain why there is no Sonos app that you can download to a smart tv so that you can play the tv sound through your Sonos speaker system without a wired connection.  If your phone can play music thru any connected sonos device, and so can your computer, and your tablet -- why is it not the same for a smart tv?  Thank you.

Hello there What do you think will be the next product from Ikea/Sonos?I hope for a Gen 2 of the frame and the replaceble “picture” get new faces……and Ikea get the ones they offer in stock.Same for the BookShelfs…need new front grills and get them in stockMaybe there will be a smaller and a bigger frame than it is today….like two options.   

Hi We are currently building a 3 level townhouse . On the bottom level I will have a high end hiding system inside . There will be 3 balconies and I am looking for a good sound system on each of the 3 level balconies, it needs to be based on wireless speakers as I do not  want to run anymore cables from inside to out . I will have a very good wifi mesh system.  Each balcony is outside with ocean views but undercover . I have allowed to have power outlets 2 metres above ground on each side of each of the balconies . My high system DAC uses tidal and Roon . my question is : would era 300 or Sonos 5 or move Pairs on each balcony be best ? Or is there a better solution . I want to be able to control what balcony is playing at any time and if at all possible have different things playing on different balconies  cheers and thanks for any input  Warren

Hi Folks👋 Orginal Sonos stands for Era 100/300: Are they simmilar,only different is shape of attachment of base to speaker.So in reality i can purcase what so ever stand(100 or 300) and i could just change the top depending on if i got the 100’s or the 300’s….you follow me?For example in my case,i got the 100’s on stands. I will purcase the 300’s but if i purcase the stamds i can just remove the top part from the 300-stand over to my allready mounted 100’s?Then my next question will be: If they match as in Q1⬆️,why does not Sonos offering this item? Need to buy the complete kit with the stands.Or does the “Sonos wall-mount” fit on a stand as well(problem solved?). 

I authored the above discussion about 2 years ago. However, I think it's still relevant (as far as basics) and appropriate for this group.Sonos has since pushed out a few updates to the Arc and introduced a speaker (Era 300) that can be used as rears x 2 to complete the Dolby Atmos experience. I've added dual subs to my setup. As the Arc is pushing the 5 year mark what improvements do you believe are needed (if any) to keep the Arc as a viable Dolby Atmos speaker/soundbar?  It’s too early to discuss changes/improvements to the Era 300; and the Era 500 is still just a rumor. Even if it were introduced it might be overkill as a surround much like the Fives are in some situations.My improvement to the Arc would be a better center channel for dialogue. I’m not sure how pass-through would be a need other than a “me too” versus the competition. More licensed Codes might be a request? The more drastic move would be to ditch the Arc and introduce left/center/right separates? I don’t see that h

I'm using ATV with YTTV and the Sonos app says sound is in DD 5.1 when watching NFL in multiview. In reading other forums, YTTV is only stereo in multiview, and it's clear this is the case when putting my ear to the surrounds. When switching to an individual game rather than Multiview, 5.1 kicks in.So why does the Sonos app say it's 5.1 when the multiview broadcast is stereo? This makes me doubt Sonos' software recognition.

I have a Sonos Beam connected to a TCL Roku TV- with no other speakers or accessories connected. While watching TV, the audio from the Beam will randomly dip low, about 80% lower than the current volume, for 3-4 seconds, then return to normal volume. This only started happening after I started using Sonos Voice Control. So I initially was suspecting that the Sonos Voice Control was getting triggered by TV’s audio, and thinking someone on TV is saying “Hey Sonos”. But over time I’ve noticed it appears that it happens more randomly than that suspicion.To estimate- while watching a 2 hour movie, this happens 1-3 times on average.I contacted support in the past, and sent in Diagnostic Numbers, but they wanted me to change the HDMI cable or get on video support which I didn’t have time for.Anyone else experience this?Any ideas why this happens?

Is there a way to remote disconnect a specific speaker or music service in order to turn off an alarm while I’m traveling (ie not home on the network)? I’m trying to figure out how to spare my poor neighbors in Brooklyn from the alarm currently going off in the apartment. I’ve truly had it with this system…

Hello all, My current music systems consist of: Deezer Family Subscription2x pre-digital hi-fi separates systems, both with tape loops, one with a turntable, the other with a minidisc playerSonos Roam I’ve been trying to tease out how best to link these all together. 2x Ports would peg me with roughly £800 costs, so I’ve started looking at 2x Connect Gen 2 instead, for £300ish. I understand that they’ve been discontinued and I’m avoiding Gen 1s and have read about the S1/S2 split. The Roam, bought new, is the only experience I have of Sonos. If I buy used Connect Gen2s, will there be any non-obvious gotchyas around adding them to my sonos account or their usage, or do I simply reset them and they will behave as you’d expect with new gear?

As someone who primarily listens to rock music, a significant portion of the sound of the music that I listen to comes from the mid range. On Sonos speakers, the bass sounds great and the treble sounds great, but the mid range is barely audible. That's where all of the guitars are, along with the vocals a lot of the time. This leads to the music sounding muddy and lifeless.I love Sonos speakers and I’ve been a customer for years. I’ve told many people about Sonos, singing it’s praises. I think they’re high quality speakers, the features are absolutely fantastic and they’re aesthetically pleasing as well. I would love to be a lifelong customer of Sonos, outfitting every room with a Sonos setup. However, if Sonos does not make changes to accommodate the needs of listeners of genres that require good mid range frequency response, (and I would argue that all genres do, actually, it’s just more noticeable in some than in others), then unfortunately I will have to transition to another brand
