Opening the app is very slow on updating the room status. I usually start music from Spotify Connect or by pushing the hardware button on the speaker .I then open Sonos app to set the sleep timer or change volume.App takes ages to update that something is playing and what's playing.Wifi network is currently working really well so it's a Sonos app issue.
I have a first gen playbar, 2 x play 1's and a 1st gen sub.If both the play 1s are being used, after a short time the whole system starts to glitch/stutter.Playbar - finePlaybar and sub finePlaybar, sub and 1 x play1 is fine As soon as I add the second play 1 it is fine for a short period but then glitches or stutters. Ive updated and tried factory reset.Any ideas?
I am aware of the support articels for Stereo Sound https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/create-a-stereo-pair and connecting a line in audio source via the 3.5mm connector https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/listen-to-your-turntable-on-sonos.What these articels do not state is if the audio source is connected to one Stereo capable speaker (eg the Five via the 3.5mm line in) that both speakers will actually Stereo or if the other speaker will not play anything or only mono. Maybe I overlooked an article so any advice would be appreciated.
Changed WiFi provider and can’t get my Sonus devices connected.
I have over 20 Sonos speakers connected in various rooms to a 5 GHz Wi-Fi system. The frequently will not connect. But the next day they will. It’s intermittent and a reboot Of the local ethernet switch normally solves the problem.. Question: would it be better to switch to the 2.4 Gigahertz Wi-Fi network which I already have set up? If so, how do I do it?Gigahertz Wi-Fi network which I already have set up? If so, how do I do it? Would I have to go and restart each and EVRI Sonos speaker by reconfiguring it?
so I have an ongoing problem with a Era 100 stereo pair - they just disappear from the app for a period of time. The interesting thing is that you look into a lot of reports of this problem, it’s always right speaker that is causing it, it crashes out taking the pair with it. if you unpair and make the left the right, when it crashes out, it’s still the right speaker in the pair doing it which eliminates the idea it is the physical unit but something in the Sonos software.Tried on three clean networks using Asus, net gear and now UniFi - occurs on all. The other interesting thing is looking at network logs, it’s not disconnecting from the network and still sending traffic but to do what is unknown.Anyone aware of what is causing this or if Sonos is aware - it does not feel it can be fixed on the user side or by the pointless network voodoo that people here suggest (“retuning to channel 666 while on one leg fixed it for me”).
I haven't used my speaker for awhile. Today I turned it on & clicked on the Sonos app. It won't let me access the app a page comes up "Sonos system needs a software update" I click on update now I get a spinning circle checking for updates & it says "There was a problem checking for updates" I have retryed this 12 times now & no joy ! I have rebooted system & uninstalled & reinstalled sonos app it's so frustrating I just want to listen to music ! I can't access app 😢
I currently have two Era 100s working in stereo for listening to music. I am happy with the overall sound but considering adding a sub mini. Will the sub mini make a noticeable difference? If anyone has done this upgrade was it worth the expense?
Hi all,I have two Era100s. They worked fine out of the box, but now after about 6 weeks, I cannot set them up both in one room. I can if I choose stereo pair, but as they are so far apart I don't want to do that. If I add one first to a room, for instance "kitchen", when I add the second one to "kitchen" it sets up "kitchen 2", so each speaker has a separate room. I've been one the phone to sonos for a bout an hour and they see the problem but so far haven't offered a solution.
New address and internet provider. Reset and connected with Ethernet. Worked for five minutes. Now I can’t connect to Wi-Fi, Sonos network is not on Wi-Fi. Products are not recognized. Cannot connect individual speakers or system. Deleted Sonos app and tried again with new app. Same problem on previous Wi-Fi at previous house. Sonos seems to find a new problem each time I find a potential solution. I have been without music now for three weeks. Either a solution is found in next week or I trash sonos products
For years I have had an ARC+Sub 2 connected to my TV via HDMI(arc). I recently upgraded to an ARC Ultra + Sub 4. I also have a SONOS Era 300 in a separate room and Play Ones each in their own rooms and a stereo pair of Play Ones in another room.Until last week I was able to play input from unique sources in each room and change a source in one room without impacting the source in any of the others. Now changing one room seems to make the change in all. For example: I’m watching TV and the Arc Ultra+ Sub 4 is set to TV Line In. I have changed the SONOS Era 300 to TV Line In, so TV audio is coming from both. I pause the TV and go into a room with a Play ONE. I set the source of the Play ONE to a streaming news radio station. When I go back to the TV room, the input of the Arc Ultra +Sub 4 and SONOS Era 300 have been changed to the news radio station. This is really annoying. Anyone else have this issue? Thanks,Kyle
In Dec 2022 I inadvertently purchased a SONOS ONE when I should have purchased a PLAY 1. My controller is SONOS S1 and I have 12 speakers . The tech dept walked me through converting the software on my SONOS ONE to make it a PLAY 1. All was well. I was away for 6 months and the system was shut down. When I returned all was in order except the system could not find the SONOS ONE speaker.( converted as above.) I tried hardwiring it but the result was that only the converted speaker was recognized and none of the others were. I tried rebooting the speaker--The lights flashed GREEN etc but the speaker was unable to be found. Please advise. I now do not know whether the software in the speaker is SONOS ONE or PLAY 1. Confused to say the least. (and I do not want to use the SONOS S2 app. Too many of my other speakers (PLAY 5s-- 1st generation) will not work with S2 and I would rather not have 2 controllers. Thanks
All my Sonos products are now not connecting and giving the error code 1,000. Does anyone know what this means as I can’t find anything about it or how to fix it?
I have a Sonos play five: gen 2.I have moved house and tried to move this to a new wifi network, but when searching on the app connected to the wifi it never finds the device. The automated support bot has not been helpful to resolve this and I have tried ten- twenty times to connect. I’ve tried factory resetting and updating the firmware and a few other suggestions. But I’m feeling lost. Can someone provide support as to what my best steps are to connect the device?
HeyI've got a surround setup with an Arc, 2 fives and 2 subs. It's setup at the tv and couch area, which is part of a big room which is also the living room.I've been think of adding an extra speaker (Era 100) to fill the room a bit more, when listening to music. But i have to add it as a different group if so. But hence a different group and not stereo, i'm worried i'll sound a bit off compared to the other speakers
On the app how do you play for instance BBC Radio 2 on my play 1 called Kitchen downstairs and another radio station on my play 3 upstairs called bedroom
Hi there SONOS community !I have a question about line in on SONOS 5’s. I have two SONOS 5’s linked as a stereo pair. The right hand has a line in from a Project turntable connected to it. Can I connect another audio device to the line in on the left hand ? My scenario is to add an old hifi that has tape and CD so I can play those media through the SONOS 5 pair. The turntable and other hifi components are at opposite sides of the room. Obviously not both playing at the same time! Thanks in advance for the advice. Kieron
Ok, so at some point i decided to move my 2x one sl and beam, set up new account, made reset on all speakers, and… the hell started. First of all, no matter what i do, none of the speakers accept wifi networks, they see them, but reject connecting, one sl’s can even connect to 5g ones, but beam only seems to accept 2.4 g one, but no love on connecting, so decided to just go with ethernet, once again, app sees the speaker, accepts audio pin, then states it has issue to connect with wifi “” and … nothing, so cant tie speakers with no wifi nor lan - any ideas ?
4 Sonos ports on managed switch experiencing drop outs. and If we attempt to play music in 3 zones, 1 zone will drop out.We have 4 ports that we want to play the same music through. lets call them 1,2,3,4.We cannot select all four, max 2. So if one and two are playing and you select three, 3 starts playing and 1 stops. The setup runs through a managed switch. We have checked the following two links and ensured that STP is set up correctly: https://support.sonos.com/en-gb/article/configure-stp-settings-to-work-with-sonos https://en.community.sonos.com/advanced-setups-229133/sonos-and-the-spanning-tree-protocol-16973other thoughts we have had but not yet tested: IGMP issues: more than one IGMP or no IGMP on the VLANMulticast limit on the switch set to 2? also seen other feeds that suggest running the 4 through an unmanaged switch and plugging the at into our switch to avoid DHCP issues?
Will the Arc soundbar link to my Sonos play:5. For example if I were to purchase the Arc sound bar could I use my play:5 as surround sound. Would they link together?
I had to completely hard reset my sonos ecosystem install it again to find out.Airplay 2 is still not connectingWhen connected all devices stutter like there is no tomorrow. Please Sonos your helpdesk is 25 minutes waiting for service employee. And they all act like it’s a new problem it’s not.Update firmware find better connectivity in the soft and hardware and end this BSI’m completely busy whole day to achieve listening to stutter or connection failluers.Call Apple and work on a solution otherwise i will never buy your system again. It’s 2025 almost i mean come on. Horrible stuttering not connecting lagging system.
The system stops playing every kind of music that I chose. After a few seconds it restarts playing. This happens about every 5 to 10 minutes. I can’t find any problems at my provider, so it looks that Sonos is the problem. Thus anyone now how to correct this problem. It happens sinds the last week.
Hello. My sonos play 1 speaker is not connecting to my computer. This is odd, because it randomly disconnected. I tried resetting and rebooting it, but nothing worked. It would be great if I could hear about a way to fix it. Thank you.
I've reset, and I know my wifi password is correct. The Play 1 speaker starts the set up normally, then automatically connects to a temporary wifi (even though i am already connect to mine on my device) then asks me to connect to my wifi and enter my password, but it can't connect. My device shows me still connected to the temporary wifi of sonos, when I try to switch to mine it says that it lost connection and ends the setup.
According to the SONOS service rep I can no longer use my Sonos5 as it will not update. I switched to Starlink as my Internet Service Provider and they claim they do not support sattelite ISP connections. This is total BS since every other streaming service we can pay for ie: Netflix, Amazon Prime, U-tube, Hulu, Disney, Paramount etc can stream via Starlink, but Sonos does not. One has to ask why, when every other streaming service can transmit/receive data packets via a fully licensed and valid ISP as Starlink is, but Sonos says they cannot support this service? No ratiional explanation can be offerred to refute why this cannot be remedied. So I now own a $700 doorstop?
