It's past time to sack the software development team, they must be working for the competition, there is no other explanation. The app has got worse again. I will not invest any further in Sonos hardware until the app is back to where it was. Frankly it is crap. I feel conned. Great hardware with crap software. What the hell are you idiots doing? Sack the developers and let a third party in or gold.
Hey all,Have had Sonos since many years, and with mix of first and second generation products, ie 1,3,5 and soundbar w subwoofer. Actually still installed the boosterNavigating and selecting music with various Apple products, from iPhone 11 Max, through iPad to the newest iMac.Since the January SOnos update, I still face problems with very slow response when anting to change, and the very annoying issue, that sometimes some of the SOnos component aren’t available for selection. Actually sometime not in 1 Apple products (iPhone), but then selectable on the iPad.I want to start this conversation towards Apple use of SOnos, with older a newer Apple products to older and newer Sonos products.Any guidance ? Any learnings?Looking very much forward to your comments. Thanks
I am having trouble setting up my SOnos home cinema. In my sitting room, I have a One connected to my router. All my other speakers use Sonosnet and this mostly works great.I added an Arc Ultra to the sitting room and this is also working. However, I am now trying to connect up rear speakers.I moved another One into the sitting room and tried to setup both this and the One connected to my router with the Arc. I get a little way through the process and then I am told that the Arc needs a wired ethernet connection.I should say at this point that I have tried my Sonos setup in wifi standalone mode before and it did not go well - the network was incredibly unreliable and I do not want to go there again.I spoke to technical support about this and from what I can gather I have three options.1. Get a very long ethernet cable and drape it all around the walls of the sitting room so I can plug the Arc in. One of the reasons I chose the Arc was to avoid having cables everywhere.2. Buy a mesh netw
Lot of comments and disappointment with Sonos Sub Gen 2. All seem to be ignored by Sonos. I had 2 of these units. Both have now failed and become useless within 5 years. Very disappointing considering I still have alternate old school speakers that are 25 years old still going well. Obviously a fundamental issue with these subs which Sonos had no solution for fix. Only receive 30% reduction on new product. Sonos should provide 5 year warrenty to standby their product.
I am trying to repair a generation 2 sub. I have narrowed the problem down to the secondary power supplies. R37 has been burned out, there were posts that said R37 is a 18 ohm resistor however the marking on posted pictures show a smt resistor marked 18d. This is not a 180 Ohm resistor. Has anyone successfully repaired a sub 2 with the problem being the secondary logic voltages ? I believe I have identified Q16 and D6? marked as Y2 and 2F. Any help would be appreciated, as there is very little info on the web. Thanks, Carl
The last update a couple of weeks ago made my gen3 subs sound so much better there is another update today I googled about update it says to revert Sonos sub gen3 back to previous update I haven’t done update cos I love the new sound is anyone else in this situation
Ok, what I want to do is to remove SonosNet completely and use only ethernet and wifi for my devices. Here’s what I have:PlayBar Roam V2 6 x Play:1I originally setup SonosNet for my network pre-wifi-on-sonos being a thing.I want to keep the Playbar and one of the Play:1s connected via ethernet, and have the rest use WiFi. I want to disable SonosNet completely. I have seen suggested processes that say to disable wifi everywhere first (I can’t disable wifi on my devices, the option does not exist anywhere on the app that I can find). I’ve seen countless posts saying “If your devices are disconnected from ethernet they’ll just use wifi if it’s configured”. I have both my 2.4ghz and my 5ghz networks configured to Sonos, Sonos tells me they’re they’re and available, yet none of my devices are using it except for the Roam. I followed advice that says I need to factory reset my Play:1s to add them to wifi (including the app telling me to do this). So I tried it. When I re-add them, t
I currently own 2 x era100 (stereo paired) & 1 x Move 1I am considering to buy 1 more Move1 to form an other pairCan I then connect the two stereo pairs together in the same room?Is it worth it?
Read a few posts about sub mini not maintaining connection to the Sonos Amp and I have the same issue. They are 5 or 6m apart with a wall between them. It seemed to be stable for about 3 days but is still dropping out regularly enough to be annoying. I’ve read about cabling the sub mini and in the posts I’ve read people suggest that is to the router, but I would have thought to the amp makes sense as it’s WiFi connection to my home network, certainly in my case, is stable. Am I just reading it wrong and a cable from amp to sub will resolve the issue? I do have a home network, but have actually found my Sonos devices work better wirelessly (the WiFi coverage is good), I’m assuming because, other than the sub mini, they use their own Sonosnet network? It would be a pain, but it’s feasible that I could run a cable between Amp and sub, but didn’t want to start drilling any holes until I was sure! Thanks!
Hi, I have recently upgraded my router and now my Beam, Sub and Surround Play 1s won’t work correctly unless the Beam is connected by Ethernet. Sonos help helped but after the best part of a day and numerous system reboots/resets I was told it’s down to the router not having split bands…? Vodafone showed me how to change it to compatibility mode, but still no use.
UNC campus ITS will not allow Sonos on UNC wifi. I have 4 rooms that I need synced music, for a 2 hour period before every football game. Was going to try a Verizon mifi device with ethernet port, attach it to one of the Sonos 100, then create the SonosNet. Question, what are the chances that speakers that are 40 feet away will catch the SonosNet, or said another way, whtat’s the distance that this configuration might work?
If you have 5 minutes and want to avoid the same rathole, read on.I purchased a refurb ERA 100. It came but was basically DOA. I returned it and got another refurb. This one at least tried to connect. After hours with tech support and after resetting all my wifi stuff (as well as my neighbor’s wifi, ok, not quite) I got it to connect to an existing sonos system with 4 well used and stable devices, 2 Play1’s, a One SL, and a Port. Three days later it was no longer connected. Nothing changed. Power was on, the other 4 units are still connected. So I gave up and decided to get them to honor the money back guarantee. Then things really started to go downhill. I was able to process an RO online but they never sent a shipping label. I called weekly. I chatted. I emailed, I emailed the CEO. It has been over two weeks, still no label. During the email exercise they decided that to be helpful they would cancel the RO. Still no shipping label. All I want to do is return this th

Thank god I purchased from Costco because ai am heading over and returning all my speakers , over $2k , bytes be ware , SONOS DOES NOT WORK, but they still charge you a f*** lot of money for their Minimum Viable Product Speakers. F*** you SONOS. Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct
I am listening music with Sonos all day without any problems. Hey all im trying a fix my SONOS gen 1 which is powering up but consistently getting a white/orange led. I went thru the whole network, register stuff nothing which then led me to do check on the actual board. Looking at others issue with i saw common one for PSU was changing a blown R37 chip i then noticed on the videos beside R37 there is a R76 chip. Nothing seems to be fried on my board but i do see mine is missing a R76 chip.Trying to find out what type of chip is this is it the same as a R37 - resistance smd 1206 1 ohm 1R00 (R77)
I want add and install my new Five speakers to my existing system. All works ok in the installation process but speakers gets added to a new system, which did not exist before. I have reset and reinstalled but same problem every time. I have tried to reset my other speakers and added them to my existing system and that works just fine. The problem is only for my new Fives. I had Sonos for many years and never had such issue before. Any ideas?
Holy ****, over a year and this app is still a massive piece of ****. Updated the software manually (auto update was on) and some speakers just vanished. Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.
Hi, I recently upgraded to an Era 100 from a Sonos One as I only have wifi via my mobile network provider. I managed to set up the Era 100 via traditional wifi elsewhere but when I connect at home using only bluetooth and playback through my Apple devices and macOS/iOS/Apple Music/Spotify, I keep getting constant dropouts which you’ll appreciate can be very annoying mid song. Does anyone know of a fix or am I out of luck and need fixed wifi only? Many thanks in advance!
Good day everyone, I'm having trouble playing content from different music platforms on one my sonos one sl. When pairing it with another speaker, it'll play the content. When trying to start it on that particular speaker, it'll say can't play content, something went wrong. It says in the app under the name of that speaker no content. The speaker and app are up to date.Any ideas what the problem is?Thank you.Phil
The play 5 gen 1 sees the temporary Sonos network but will not connect to it
Newly added 2 speakers to my system and moved from s1 to I think 2. Music won’t pause, listening to Spotify content using Sonos app. Set up was a nightmare with multiple speakers taking many attempts to connect to my house group but all done now. How Spotify get away with this awful app I don’t know. I thought I was continuing to buy a premium product, sadly full of bugs.. any ideas how to get pause working on the app?
I am so disappointed I kinda want to scream. The company is worried about “badges” when their basic system is almost flatlining for me. I had 13 pieces (responsible for the purchase of 40 others) and my system is almost flatlining. Right now two Moves and the Amp are working. I can’t get the S1 AP to even work as it immediately goes to a flash screen that you should use S2 because ALL components work on it (they don’t and Sonos knows it!). In the vernacular of my old Navy days - YHGTBFSM! I really don’t even know where to start.
I plan to buy a pair of Era 100 speakers. I use Apple Music. I would like to connect my iPad via the Schitt Modi 3 DAC to the line in using the Sonos line in adapter. Will this set up offer better sound quality when playing hi-res Apple Music than using Airplay 2 over wifi.
My Sonos Play:1 gets lost to my home system every time the Sonos app is updated on my phone. Interestingly my Sonos One players stay in the network but the Play:1 is only visible if it is connected via ethernet cable. If I reset the speaker and add it connected via cable, in the process the speaker is updated as well and after another reset I can add it again via wifi. This is a very tedious procedure considering that there are usually multiple updates per month.Currently (App release 80.24.32-release+20250717.e5bcd8b) even this solution does not work, so that I can use my Play:1 only hardwired (which is pretty idiotic for a wifi-speaker)
I’ve got a very frustrating issue going on. I’ve got a pair of Sonos One speakers that I foolishly tried to update to the S2 controller. I have nothing but problems since doing this. To get the speakers connected to the S2 controller, I have to do a (cumbersome) factory reset. When I finally get the speakers connected to the S2, everything works great, and I spend a couple hours listening to music. However the next day when I try to listen to music again, the S2 tells me “No products found” on my network. It prompts me to go to system settings. When I do that, it says me system can’t be found on my network, and prompts me to update my network. When I do that, it finds my two Sonos One speakers but says they are unable to update these products, and instructs me to factory reset them. So of course I spend 20 minutes doing two factory resets, and everything works. Until the next day when it tells me to do the same thing over again.I tried to downgrade to the S1 controller (which used to w
