Hi,

Using two fives and two one’s, a beam and a receiver, when I click the volume button up or down on the side of my iphone 14 (IOS16.3) or move the slider up or down in the Sonos app, the volume is quickly interrupted by the Sonos speaker or Samsung TV saying, “receiver”.  Two clicks on volume result in the volume being interrupted by the Sonos system (or Samsung) saying, “receiver”.

I have had Sonos for years and have never heard this.  How and where do I disable this? Wildly annoying.

Hello @Heatlar and welcome to the Sonos Community!

Could you please provide us with some additional information, in order to understand your issue and move forward into resolving it?

How are things connected to your TV? What do you mean by Sonos Receiver? Was there any recent change to the connections on your TV?

This appears to be an expected behavior from your TV and could be caused by a change on TV settings due to an automatic TV firmware update, if it was working fine before.

The Sonos Beam should be connected directly to the TV via HDMI and will only play whatever is being sent to it, so I believe it’s the TV that is making this “Receiver" announcement, interrupting the audio.

Sounds like Samsung Voice Guide has been turned on.   Look under the Accessibility menu for Voice Guide and make sure it is turned off.

JGATIE; you nailed it.  I went thru countless settings in the Samsung TV and Samsung was the culprit.  I cant thank you enough.
