One of my Sonos speakers was making a crazy “ding dong” sound. I tried everything to make it stop. Solution unplugged speaker let the battery discharge. The “ding dong” continued until the battery was completely discharged. I then plugged the speaker back in and allowed it to charge again and the “ding dong” is gone and my Sonos system is working fine now. Technology just needs a reset every now and then.
I’m beyond annoyed that these speakers randomly recognize the wifi, one speaker plays at a time OR they will no longer group and strangely enough, 2 different songs will play at the same time while using Spotify even though I have one account. it is absolute madness! They used to be paired. They used to work! what happened???
My Samsung TV only has hDMI ARC and no optical port. As the Ray is optical only, will a converter like this work https://amzn.eu/d/fyaQpn7Or am I best just getting a Beam?
Have the S2 app on an iPad and iPhone. iPhone looses the height setting on my ERA 300’s and the Sub Audio setting on sub-mini multiple times per day. 300’s are a stereo pair with the sub mini. The settings stay as set on my iPad. What causes that? All things are updated.
I have been using my Play 5 Gen 1 for a couple of months now and thought I would share some thoughts. I managed to find an excellent used, boxed model will all documents and original leads as I am on a limited budget. I owned one previously, but sold it chasing the holy grail of hi-res and voice control! Why this model? I live in a nursing home with very poor WI-FI and find the Play 5 Gen 1 with S1 Controller connects to the poor WI-FI with ease and complete stability. I have borrowed later Sonos speakers to try and they do not like nursing home Wi-Fi systems. Yes, the older Play 5 limits you to cd quality, but I doubt my old ears can now appreciate higher quality 🙂. For me, the sound is mellow and easy, with just enough clarity. Because of my condition, I listen for several hours a day every day. I have never experienced the volume dropping or any dropouts with prolonged use; as with some of my previous speakers.I use Tidal, which offers some unusual music and has a pleasant UI, BBC S
I have several SOnos Ray used tor speakers connected to TVs via optical cable. All TVs have IR remotes. But Sonos Ray is not able to learn the volume keys from most of the TVs.When setting up the Ray it clearly registers the signal from the remote (the LED light up on the Ray) but the app continiues to fail and saying it does not register when prompted to press 3 times.I have read it could be due to the remotes using the common “Toggle Bit” feature. So trying the tips related to covering the remote IR diode every second press to get the Ray to learn the remote with no succes.
I was having issues with speakers dropping from my system. When I reset them and tried to re-add them, they consistently said they could not connect to my Wifi. I tried restarting my router, factory resetting my speakers (repeatedly), connecting with an Ethernet cable (which worked but only as long as it stayed wired, which wasn’t a viable solution). I reset my app, deleted and reinstalled my app. Upgraded my system… none of it worked. The only speakers that would connect were my old Sonos Ones—which led me to my Wifi frequencies. My router has 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, and they are not entirely separate (you can’t turn one off and not the other). My phone automatically connects to the ‘best channel available’ which is probably the 5Ghz, and the Sonos speakers only seem to use that bandwidth for interspeaker communication.Ultimately I did what I had resisted and gave each a unique SSID and password (sub-optimal, as it makes it so my network isn’t dynamically switchable). I was able to do this i
I can only connect our classic Hub via Ethernet cable + Play:3 speakers / or my Playbar via cable to Router – yet not both in the S2 app. Any suggestions how to fix this?
Since I changed my internet provider, my Sonos 5 won't play unless connected with an Ethernet cable. My modem is far from where I want to place the speaker. What can I do?
I have a Play 1 and Play 3 that no longer work. Can I get them serviced? They are out of warranty.
Hello ,Can anyone help me with some tips,:)I have 2 burned capacitors c286 and c285 ,does anyone know what values are those and what have caised the issue?
I have a Sonos Beam Gen 1 speaker and play music through it from my Sonos 1 app. Recently a favourite station of mine (TMM 1) from TuneIn only plays the advert but then not the music. I cann play the same station from TuneIn through my UE Boom speaker. Any thoughts?
Hi guys. I have just purchased my Sonos Move 2.Im going to set the Trueplay up later when my daughter arrives home, as she has an iPhone whereas I'm Android. If I choose a room, say sitting room, do the Trueplay calibration and save. I then move to the kitchen, opt for kitchen on the list of rooms, do the Trueplay calibration in the kitchen and save, when I next use it and choose kitchen on the Sonos, will it automatically use the Trueplay settings for that room that were originally saved?
Hello everyone,This is my first time posting in the community—I hope I can explain my issue clearly. I've been using Sonos for a couple of years and I love it, but for the past week, I've been facing a problem I just can't solve. My setup: 1 Sonos Beam (Gen 2) connected to the TV 2 Sonos One SL as rear speakers Router: TP-Link Archer C7 My phone: Samsung Galaxy S22 with the latest version of Android The problem:The Sonos app on my Android phone suddenly can't find any of my speakers. It shows the message "Unable to connect to Sonos." The strange thing is that if a friend comes over, their iPhone connects without any problems and can control the entire system. The music continues playing if started from their phone, but I can't do anything from mine. What I've already tried, with no success: Restarting the router and waiting 5 minutes Unplugging and replugging all Sonos speakers Uninstalling and reinstalling the Sonos app on my Android phone Clearing the app’s cache and data
Hi. Can you guys recommend sturdy wall mounts that physically grab the speakers firmly as the ones I bought for my four Play1’s and they came dangerously loose within weeks in fact one fell and was saved by the mains cable. Problem is they rely on the bolt hole in the speaker that seems to be made from cheese. My brackets don’t have any branding on but will try and upload a pic just in case anyone else is tempted to follow my foolish act. Sorry the image won’t upload
The Sonos website says that Play:3 is compatible with S2 or S1. Several posts in this forum indicate that Play:3 can connect via S2 app. I’m trying to move Play:3 from the S1 app to the S2 app - unsuccessfully. This is what I’ve done so far.S1 app doesn’t have a “forget this system” choice, so I quit the app, and rebooted my Android Galaxy S21 with latest OS. Factory reset Play:3 (lights only ever flash white then go to solid white)Play:3 was also plugged in via Ethernet cable.Started S2 app.Chose Forget this system (I have a sound bar hooked up through S2)Add components.S2 recognizes both sound bar and Play:3Choose Play:3 to connectError message “This component is only compatible with S1 controller:”Sound bar connects fine. Any ideas? Thanks.
Buonasera, volevo sapere se era possibile collegare un microfono esterno tramite adattatore LINE-IN con sonos era 100.Grazie
Hi. I have a beam and sub in the lounge and era100s in the kitchen and bedroom. The bedroom alarm works brilliantly giving music at the right time every morning. However using the era100 to go to sleep can be a problem. I have developed a long Spotify playlist with my Wife's favourite sleepy tunes and I will use my phone app to start this with a 30 min timer. Often the app says it cannot play the playlist and says something has gone wrong. Last night I managed to get the lounge beam to play the playlist and then I added the bedroom and cancelled the beam. However I could not alter the volume on the bedroom speaker or set a timer. I had to manually reduce the volume using the finger slider and then ask Alexa to set a timer.Do you have any suggestions as to why this era100 is unreliable. The kitchen era works well though I am not using it as a sleep assistant!
My sub mini has a blinking red light and I'm still able to use it as normal without any issues, but its annoying seeing that its blinking red. I pulled the plug out and did the reset method but it doesn't not go in to factory reset, it just reconnect to my sonos beam but still has the blinking red light.
After again losing the ability to use my play 3 on my sonos network i did the usual; power reset router, power reset play 3 then a factory reset of play 3. this has notmally worked, sadly not this time, the SONOS app (Iphone) will not connect despite the Play 3 having a green flasing light (it is connected to my router). Can someone please help?
I just reasonly got a second Play:1 and was excited to try them in stereo. However I noticed that they occasionaly fall very slightly out of sync, like lower than 1 ms latency between the pair, but I could very clearly hear the phantom center switching between left and right. Sometimes when the latency is high enough there is no phantom center anymore, making the music sound weird. Is there a way to fix this? I’ve tried resetting the pair, or ungroupping multiple times, but it seems that every time I group them the slave channel is always very slightly (~0.2 ms?) faster than the master, it switches between the two between songs though.
How to set up my boost and play base to work with the s1 controller?
Hi!I’m brand new to Sonos, I only have the mobile app. Stumbled upon this platform listening to a great music mix called “mellow morning” in my local cafe so I downloaded it.I have been seeking education on home and portable speaker products for a couple of weeks and I see that Sonos is more than a radio or streaming service. Can anyone recommend the Sonos speaker products that would fit our goals?-purely for enjoying music (not games or movies )-Portable, can take from room to room, ideally two.-Good quality sound that will fill the room or the back yard.-Ideally plug in AND cordless or capable of usage with regular batteries or a pre-use wall charge-wifi and bluetooth compatible-will take commands from my phone app-adjustable bass and treble -has hooks or simple attachment thingies if I want to hang it in our spaces-compatible with more than Sonos music platform, will play Spotify and Soundcloud, too.-lower to medium range of price structure Thanks!
Hi, My Sonos One SL suddenly got disconnected from the system last week.I have had It connected over the last 3 years without any problem. Now, I am not able to reconnect it again and I feel like I have tried everything.I am getting different error codes and messages about ethernet cable, wrong password, too far away from the router or adjust the router settings.Since I have a pair, both bought the same time, this doesnæt make much sense. The one that is still connected and working has no issues at all, they are standing in the same room.I thought adding It with an ethernet cable should work, but It doesnt.I have also read something about It must be downgraded to S1 since my app is S2. But I am not sure if these speakers came with S1 or S2 software/hardware. Regards
i have sonos Play5 and the bridge no longer works so i am unable to connect to both my speakers. Is there a replacement for the bridge that would allow me to use the app to play music again.
