As far as I’ve read in Reddit, it seems to be a Beam Gen1. As the Gen2 is S31.
Found the same thing on the internet, but it is really strange because I have the Gen 2...that’s why I am confused and asked this question here.

The easiest way to tell the difference is the Beam Gen 1 has a soft fabric grill. The Gen 2 has a hard polycarbonate plastic grill.

On what Sonos you have take a look at the App's General Settings, About Your System, Sonos System Information. That comes directly from the device internals, no chance of a mismarked label or box.
You should see the Hardware Version listed there. Two of mine Beams, both gen 1, show this: 1.23.1.10-1.2
Don't post the serial number / MAC here.

The label may state Gen 2 but most info out there points to they are Gen 1 and have a fabric grill. Ebay S14’s often state Gen 2 but be cautious as not so sure seeing their production date.
