The device on the right is a PLAY:1.

Hard to tell, offhand, for the device on the left. Would help if the picture included the back, or even the product label which I suspect is on the bottom.

My guess is it’s a CONNECT, or possibly a CONNECT:AMP.

Yes, either of those devices can be either wired directly to the router, or hung off of your WiFi. The PLAY:1 can be either S1 or S2, not sure about the other device, it’s possible…or not, depending on what it is, and when it was produced.

Here’s the bottom.  Is it a sound amplifier or a speaker for a device that doesn’t have one like a DVD.  I’m not really up on this stuff.

Ok, as it says, it is a CONNECT, manufactured in July of 2015. Which means it’s designed to ‘connect’ an input like a CD player, or pre-amped turntable (or any line level device) into the Sonos ecosystem. With those two items, you can play any line in you want that is connected to the Sonos PLAY:1.

I’d need to do some look up to see if the July date was before, or after they updated the electronics, so that that device could run S2, but they’d both certainly run S1, and work as I’ve described.

A quick Google search suggests it is S2 compatible. It’s hard to tell from pictures, of course, which OS is installed on both, but the ‘controller’ usually runs on a mobile device, such as a phone or tablet. It’s downloaded from the appropriate store. With that controller, you can control various aspects, including the line in and the volume. Both devices would be fairly valuable, I’d think, on a resale site such as eBay.

Thank you for your help.

Just to add neither device is dependent upon the other to function. They are standalone devices. Meaning a potential buyer may need one and not the other.

Neither is worth much, used either is likely to bring less than $100. Check ebay.com if you need something to show the value.

Either or both could hold personal information and should be Factory Reset, aka internal data erased, before being sold or disposed of.

In addition to the above they can’t be used by a new owner until Factory Reset.
