Speakers

Previously, I have been able to update my S1/S2 compatible products to work with the S2 app. Now none of these products will update. What is going on?

For weeks now my Sonos system has been rock solid (it is only a single pair of 300s). Suddenly over the last few days I get repeated reports of “No Products Found”. It eventually clears itself but the problem periodically comes back (it has just done it again). Internet speed at the device running the app is 160mbps. Are there any issues with the Sonos network?

Good afternoon all,I’m after some help/advice please, to enable my 2 Sonos play 1 speakers to work wirelessly on my new wifi network. I’ve followed numerous help articles online, but without success, hence this post.Situation:I’ve recently introduced a new mesh wifi system to my home to increase WiFi coverage. (this has included introducing a new mesh hub, which is plugged into the existing router via an ethernet cable)Challenge:Despite numerous steps (see below), I have been unable to get by play speakers to work on the new network wirelessly. FYI the speakers will work when connected via ethernet cable to the new mesh hub, but this is not a viable solution moving forward.Steps taken so far (following advice in the app and help articles):Removed the 2 speakers from the app (so that no products show in the Sonos app when it re-loads) Factory re-set the speakers (however they do not display a green light when powered - instead the light goes solid white after flashing white and orange)

the sonos ray works fine but every few days the white light blinking and I am not able to do factory reset

Apologies for the longish title but there are a lot of threads discussing speakers dropping, but none seemed exactly like mine. I love my Sonos system but ran into connection issues when I changed my WiFi from Xfinity cable to an ATT Fiber Router and added two Eero 6+ mesh devices to get signal around my house. While I’m not an IT expert, so excuse any naming errors, I am not afraid to try things out.My system: S2 app, Play 1 gen 1 & Sub Gen 3 (Grouped), Amp (Outdoor Speakers), Arc Ultra (TV), and Boost (now offline). Everything is wireless, no direct connections after dropping the Boost. My Issue: After connecting everything, which took a while, the Arc Ultra kept getting dropped. If it connected, then either the Amp or the Grouped Play 1s or Sub would get dropped. I could see all of the devices in ATT Gateway Router (Nokia) and on my Eero app. After researching the issue, I think that there were conflicts with the wifi bands and wifi sources. The speakers were connecting to the A

I have spent an hour and a half trying to reconnect my Play 5 gen 2 to my system. I use the s1 app and I used to be able to group my Play 5 gen 1 and gen 2 together. I can only connect the Play 5 gen as ‘living room’. My Play 5 gen 2 shows as ‘bedroom two’ only for the upgrade offer.  I spent an eternity trying to login I changed my pw 5 times none were accepted. I got cut off from the help line 4 times but someone did finally manage to make my pw work finally before I got cut off. I did every reset that I could sometimes more than once . They kept asking for my phone number but didn’t use it so what was the point? I gave up in the end it’s still not working, it used to so I can only think it is the new s 1 app that upgraded whilst I was being forced to repeatedly login! I don’t like complaining and I love the sound of the speakers when they are working so it is very depressing that a simple thing that worked before will no longer work.

Hi all.  Gen1 play5, play 1 and a bridge.2 weeks ago Sonos S1 cannot connect to system.  Full reset to everything.Still would not find Bridge (always had ethernet cable to bridge). Will find play 5 when I connect play5 to ethernet cable.  Also then sees play 1 but not bridge.Happy to play music at this point.App then falls over when we move to wifi connection.Any ideas? Have Sonos decided 10years is enough and they want more£?

Will it work with mini sub ?

Our speaker (Sonos S18) stopped working So we did a factory reset and it still didn’t do anything.  I reconnected it to the Sonos app and it shows in the app.The speaker has  been unplugged for almost 2 weeks when we plugged it in, the white light is on, but we do not get any sound or any response from it.

Hello, I’ve had Symfonisk and Play:1 in my system without major issues, but after connecting a Playbase this weekend, it’s only been misery. I bought it knowing it would have issues with the wifi-card based on the know issues (and the seller said he issues connecting with it), but thought cabling it should work. But even connected with ethernet and optical from my tv, it’s been wreaking havoc with the already connected speakers in the app. Its unstable both on its own and making the app crash, sometimes it connects, othertimes not, cutting in and out. Tried disabling the wifi, but then it stopped connecting at all and I had to reset it. Trueplay makes the app crash and the Playbase unavailable. I’ve tried over and over again, resetting it and adding it again, but it just won’t work properly.  Now I’ve unplugged it and added the other speakers again, so the app and the other speakers work fine again. Is this a known issue? I thought it should work when cabled even though the wifi-card i

Lost all connection on most Sonos 1 products play 1 , connect : amp , sub, boostNo changes to my network .now I am messages Incompatible equipment have always still been able to use my “legacy “ equipment … it would cost me a small fortune to replace 7 products to S2!any ideas on what to do ?  Or what changed with S1 products . thanks in advance

The last few days someone has been able to get into my Sonos system and control it.  I was on the phone with Sonos today but they don’t know what is going on.  They had me doing the diagnostics many times today.  They are lost.  I have changed all my passwords to my Wifi and Sonos.  It didn’t help.  We have a house wide system and they keep getting on and turning the outdoor system to full volume.  It is bugging the neighbors.  We have 4 amps powering a home theatre and two subs in the backyard.  We have a theatre night planned for tomorrow but this may be done.  I am going to power it down for now but I need help.  I found this on youtube Is this true.  While I was typing they just did it again.

Espero ayudar a mucha gente. Saludos Cordiales. Moderator edit: adding Google Translation

I am unable to add shared folder on my Brennan B3 from my sonos app.  The pathway doesnt work even though I follow all steps. Can anyone help?

I picked up a Play:1 at Goodwill for the low price of $20 (kind of a steal noting how much they go for online), but if the speaker is above 45% volume on most songs, it loses bass and goes completely flat. I'm guessing that the speaker is worn out from age, so what's some recommended speakers to take it's place, or repair options?

Changed WiFi router and although it converses with Alexa and BBC Sounds, the request never gets passed through to the server.

92.0-70280In this update:Bug fixes and improved performance. 91.0-70011In this update:Bug fixes and improved performance. I hate this type of release notes. You can return to meaningful release notes?

I have posted before that I have a Gen 1 Play 5 on S1 and an Arc on S2. Each used a separate account and network. Once I have done resets, S1 will play for a few days  it then the "Sonos fond Connect" message comes up and my Play 5 does not get to play music. This is so frustrating and should be fixed by a line of code. If S1 is connected to Play 5 Hen1, then do not try to  connect to S2. Surely someone at Sonos can  ome up with a solution to this recurring problem. Yes, I know they would prefer me to buy something new, but based on this fiasco, it wouldn't be Sonos. The Play 5 is a great speaker. The support is rubbish.

Play 3 and Play 1 distorted sound is there anything that can be done

*Why did I lose more than half of my speakers? This is just too bad, more than half of my speakers has suddenly lost connection.

The Play:5 works intermittently, and the longer it’s on the more stable it gets, even to the point of no interruptions.

Both of my Play 3 speakers quit working around the same time and now wont turn on. I have tried the factory reset by unplugging, holding the play button and plugging back in. No luck and no light with either one. Any suggestions? Thank you,

The subject of Era 300 drivers being silent in a particular use case has been broached in this community many times. Below are a few examples:Some users have noted that the inward-facing drivers are not as loud as they expected, while others have found the audio experience to be great. There is a desire for more control over the drivers, with some users suggesting an option to activate the front drivers during music playback, especially when the Era 300s are not being used for home theater. Some users have also expressed a desire to be able to use both sets of drivers, while others are happy with the current setup. As you can see the opinions are varied. For the record this author finds no problem with the Era 300 driver configuration(s). However, that’s not to say that you should be of the same opinion. I will add that the question of Era 300 design (IMO) is answered by @Jamie A  in the post below:https://en.community.sonos.com/home-theater-229129/era-300-rear-driver-is-silent-with-a

My S1 set up includes 3 x S5 speakers. 2 are set up as a stereo pair and the 3rd as single room speaker. Over the past few weeks these speakers have started continually dropping their volume when the system is first used in the morning. Increasing the volume works, either by using the app or the volume buttons on the speakers, and corrects the volume for a short while and then it drops again. At the same time the lights briefly flash orange before returning to static white once the volume has dropped.  After an hour or so of use this settles down and the volume remains stable for the rest of the day. The other speakers in the system are not affected, several x  Play 1 and a Beam. I have tried unplugging them for a short while before plugging them back in and several times unplugged all the speakers and router but this hasn’t improved the issue. I also have a Roam which operates separately using the new App.All system updates have been made. Curious why this should have suddenly started
