What’s up … I’m new to the Sonos fam! Trying to figure out the placement of speakers.

Era 300’s

On stands behind the couch are a no-go for us. So I’m looking at mounting them on the wall.

Placement A

  • Installed 2 feet below the ceiling above speaker (tray ceiling height is an additional foot higher).
  • Requires me to angle (not tilt) them 45 degrees to hit center of room.

Placement B

  • Installed 2 feet below the ceiling above speaker (tray ceiling height is an additional foot higher).
  • Speaker would shoot straight out into room towards back of couch.

Sub Placement

Subs arrive Wednesday! I bought two of the Sonos 4’s. I was thinking of placing them on each side of the TV table. Good idea? Bad idea?

I’ve included a few angles of the room to help visualize it.

Thanks in advance!

Maybe inverted on the Sonos wall brackets and them on the lip of the recess? The install section of the manual has suggestions including inverted if closer than 2 feet to the ceiling.

Wile not optimal I have a stereo Pair of 300s sitting three inches from my ceiling. The height channel isn't great but the Atmos sound isn't compromised enough to bother me. Inverted wouldn't work here as they are sitting on the cabinet tops, so actually worse.
