I am a novice user - in fact I must shamefacedly admit I had never even heard of Sonos till I went shopping for a system to allow me to wirelessly listen to music from my analogue hi-fi system in other rooms. On the advice of the salesperson I ended up with a Connect and two Ones. I have set up the Ones (Standard setup) on my home wi-fi. But I can't find any documentation about the most basic controls on the One. Nothing in the documentation that came in the box, nothing on the Android app, nothing on the Support page of the website (which is where one usually finds product manuals). Is there any? My first few questions (I fear there will be more) are * What are the touch controls on top of the One? I guess the one in the middle is a play/pause button, but what are the ones with four dots? * What is the big button on the back for? When I push it the green LED on top turns red and starts to flash for a while, but so what? * Is there a list of colours and patterns for the LED o
Hi Guys, So I am moving house this week and super excited about setting up my system. I have already been using my 5.1 setup with the Playbar, 2 Play:1 surrounds and Sub. I have gone ahead and purchased 4 more Play:1s that im going to setup in the open plan kitchen/living room. I debated having two Play:5s but went for the 1s after many spatial and financial considerations. When i have friends around im going to bring the sub down temporarily from my cinema setup. My question is, would you setup the 4 Play:1s as 2 stereo pairs or 4 mono units, given that i want to use the sub? From what I have read on here the stereo separation sounds awesome but i can only link the sub to 1 pair with the other pair not benefitting from the high pass filter kicking in when the sub is added. I guess i will play around when i move house but just looking to see if anyone has this kind of setup currently. Thanks
Brought home two Homepods yesterday and set them up as a stereo pair in a 14 x 14 bedroom. A/B tested them against a single Play 5 in the same room using Airplay and my own library of music. There was NO contest. I like to listen to music at high volumes and even at max volume, two Homepods could not "control" the space. As a longtime Apple customer I was pretty disappointed. The reviews concerning the music quality from the Homepods have been almost unanimously positive. I found them to be nothing special. In fact, the two Homepods went right back to the store this morning and were exchanged for another Play 5. The Play 5s easily control the space and give me what I wanted all along, a full sounding, emotionally involving musical performance. Having had the Homepods for an audition with my own music in my own home I have to say that they are very much a triumph of marketing over engineering.
I have Google WiFi in my house and most of my Sonos devices are working fine. I have Sonos Ones, Playbar, Play 5 (gen 2) and a sub. However my Play 3 won’t connect either via Ethernet or WiFi. I’ve submitted diagnostics 341754710. Could someone take a look? Thanks!
Hi - Play 5 worked flawlessly and recently stopped being visible on system. I had to unmount from ceiling and finally performing diagnostics and on trying to reconnect wireless, the system flashes orange after pushing the "connect" button. I've seen others with the same problem and seems to indicate a wireless failure?:(
I have a Sonos playbar and an iPhone 6S. While playing music with the Sonos app, the song will randomly stop during playback and switch to a new song. Frustrating when I am into a song and it stops all of the sudden. Any idea why this happens?
Over the last few months we have been having drops in stream and skipping on songs every time we listen. We mostly listen to Pandora and Spotify. Submitted Diagnostic 569733989 Speed test shows: Download=87.80 Mbps Upload=91.61 Mbps Please help. db
Hello, I can’t airplay to a set of stereo paired Play5’s. The speakers don’t show in the device’s options on the iOS now playing widget. The pair isn’t discoverable in the Home app either. (Removed during my troubleshooting and am now unable to add the stereo pair.) When I unpair the speakers, I am able to both airplay to speaker and add the speaker to the Home app. Adding the gen1 Play5 as a stereo pair to my gen2, breaks airplay and integration with Home app. Steps reproduce: 1. Airplay to stereo pair of Play5’s. Fails, no such device listed in airplay device list within the iOS widget. (Playing music to the stereo pair works as expected via the Sonos app.) 2. Unpausing the stereo pair from the Home app fails. Grayed and unresponsive. 3. Separate the stereo pair within the Sonos app. 4. Airplay via iOS works on the gen2 speaker. 5. Add the gen2 speaker to the Home app successfully. I lost the ability to airplay to the set of speakers two weeks ago and would an a

Connection Peloton to Play5
my speakers have been playing fine but then 1 stopped playing. The light on top is still white and I can use the controls (pause, play, volume) but no music. I tried unpairing and resetting them up and everything worked again for a few days and now the same speaker is not playing music again. The controls work but not sound.
Would you please create a portable travel speaker (like the cool new Bose Soundlink Mini or Jambox or Beats Pill) with Bluetooth and also links with your WiFi setup at home? I only use a travel speaker 3 times a year, so it would be great if I could also use it in my Sonos setup at home.
Hi, I'm the proud owner of a Sonos Playbar. I've just completed the setup and all is working well. The only step I can't complete is disabling the volume display from the TV when I hit volume up / down. I can't find Hisense in the list of remotes on the KB article. Is there somewhere I can get the info I need to disable the volume display?
As per title, can you have a Sonos One and Play:1 paired for stereo sound, or do you need two Sonos One's?
I just opened and set up my play 1's with a beam and I'm hearing a cracking noise from the speakers. I've submitted a diagnostic with the ref number 1404600394
Security vulnerabilities in Sonos products
We recently made a Play:3 our first Sonos purchase, and I like it. A lot. The fact that my wife can use the app without me having to help is a massive plus as well! But, the room we put it in is a large one, and my original plan was to pair a couple of 3's eventually. But after listening to a Play:5 I've ordered one to test that out - I think two in that room would be overkill, but I'll be really interested to see how it plays out vs a Play:3 pair in stereo.
I'm considering adding a Playbar to replace my current soundbar. But the one big issue I have with the Bose Solo is with the feature I bought it for. You can turn on a "Dialog" mode which is supposed to make speech easier to hear. It does semi-fair job but loud sounds are still pretty loud and quiet talk is still quiet talk. What I'm looking to know from owners is this. I want to be able to set a reasonable listening volume in the evenings and have the Playbar not get too loud and those quiets whispers you'll actually be able to hear. Will it do that? Right now I have to hang tight to my remote so that when the action pumps I have to crank it down, when the dialog starts up I have to crank it up, then down, then up. I'm looking for a solution to that. Thanks!
The best location for our Sonos Sub is on the ground right next to our forced air vent that delivers air conditioning and heat. I'm a little hesitant to place it there though, with fears that it will get damaged. Does anyone know if my concerns are valid? Thanks!
Hi. Does anyone know if the 100 day trial on Sonos products in the UK applies only to those bought directly from Sonos or does it also apply if you purchase from John Lewis, Currys etc ?
Hi all, i'm a proud new sonos play 5 owner and i'm really enthusiast about the audio quality of this single player.. but.. often i use the line in, cause i need hear better youtube videos, netflix and other locals media in vlc too, i have a problem. almost always when i click play on the media (web or local), the audio starts after some seconds. When it starts theres no latency, but i have to restart the track cause i lost 3 - 5 or 20 seconds too.. it's like a standby of the linein... how can i setup the sonos client to make always on and resolve this fix? thank you all Paolo
Can I use my old play 5 and a new play 5 Gen 2 as a stereo pair ?
https://www.wired.com/story/sonos-nick-millington-exclusive-interview/ Quote from this excellent feature on Nick Millington Sonos' Chief Product Officer is quite interesting. "It will be up to Millington and his product team to chart a course through the choppy, frenemy-filled waters ahead. To do it, he may help guide the company into new places altogether. Until now, all Sonos products have been shackled to rooms inside your home. In the future, Millington hints, Sonos may create its first speakers and audio products designed to leave the house." Where some of the IPO money may go. This is a progressive development if true.
