Is there any advantage to using 2 Sonos Ones instead of 2 Sonos One SLs to pair with a Sonos Beam? I realize the Sonos One has Alexa voice support, but I also read where that is automatically disabled when the Sonos One is paired with the Sonos Beam. Other than perhaps using the Sonos One is another room someday, is there really any advantage vs. the Sonos One SL in my current setup?
S2 is Sonos next generation software solution. Will it bring optional front speakers for Playbar setup? That would be awesome for better audio separation.
So, I currently have a Samsung 43" Q60R QLED Smart 4K UHD TV connected to a Sonos Beam with a Fire TV 4k Stick and a PC connected to the TV via HDMI. Samsung falsely advertises the monitor as "Freesynch" in graphic callouts on the web page for the product but the fine print says it doesn't have it for the 43 and 49-inch models. So now I'm looking at the ROG Strix XG438Q gaming monitor so that the AMD card on the PC can output the best video to the screen. However, there's no HDMI-Arc on the monitor and the only audio out is 3.5" and has no 5.1 sound. There's no optical audio out on the Fire TV stick (or cube) so I'm trying to figure out if there's some way to split the HDMI out of the Fire Stick so that audio can go to the Beam. The PC also has several 3.5 audio outputs for 5.1 sound that way and wonder if there's something that might accept the audio from the PC via the several 3.5" jacks and the HDMI from the Fire TV which then forwards the video on to the monitor. I'd sacrifice the
Hi Everyone, This is my first post in the community so please be gentle. TV MODEL: LG OLED TV B8 55 inch SONOS BEAM: Connected to LG TV via HDMI ARC. The TV and Beam are working correctly eg. volume is controlled by LG remote etc. The issue arises when I plug in my MacBook Pro via a normal HDMI input into the LG TV (which works well) until I return to the use the TV and no sound comes out of the Beam. In order to get the BEAM to work again I have to remove the HDMI cable attached to the MacBook from the TV and turn it on and off again. I am thinking of wall mounting the TV where removing the HDMI cable to fix the problem will not be viable. I hope that makes sense. Please help. Thank you to anyone in advance.
I’ve been given a pair of Play:1 as a gift and don’t have any other Sonos product at the moment. I’ve used the Sonos app to stream music using Amazon Music subscription but I find the app quite restrictive as it requires premium service to add any other service. is there a Sonos device I can buy that can work as a host that I (or any other family member) can connect via Bluetooth - the device can then stream music to the individual play:1 speakers. (I can see that might restrict some features like playing separate music on each speaker - but that’s fine). I’d rather pay for one host device than pay monthly family subscriptions for multiple services.
I’m renovating kitchen area and looking to use the Sonos ceiling speakers with Sonos amp, but wondering how many ceiling speakers I would need and advice on placement. I haven’t heard them live yet so I don’t know how much area 2 ceiling speakers would fill up. The kitchen is open design and around 250 sqft (17ft x 15ft). For example, would 2 ceiling speakers be enough or would it be better to have 3-4 ceiling speakers?
The little Sonos icon disappeared on my Win 10 desktop. Can do a manual shortcut, but it just looks like a generic shortcut. How do I get the icon back?
Hi, I’m considering of purchasing Sonos Move to be used outside every now and then. What I’m pondering is how it should be setup when not used outside. Can I technically add Sonos Move to living room where there’s 4 x One SL + Beam? And does it make any sense? How about to a room with 2 x One SL? Thanks!
I am an Apple ignoramus. My wife wants to use iTunes on her Mac to send to our Sonos system using Airplay. However the Sonos support page just talks about iPad/iPhone w.r.t. Airplay and when I look on her Mac, the Airplay options only show our Apple TVs as destinations. Can a Mac not use Airplay to Sonos gear?
Hello My tv: Samsung QE55Q9F 2018 with the One Connect Box When only the beam (HDMI ARC) is connected to my tv I have no problem, but when I also connected Chromecast I started having issues. The tv is then always losing the connection with the Beam. Sometimes the signal returns to the beam, but after a while it will switch back to the tv speakers. I read somewhere that the beam has difficulties communicating with other HDMI-CEC devices or is it Samsung who is at fault here? Edit: Now its losing the connection even without Chromecast connected...I don’t get it. Kind Regards, Matteo
Hi, Please can someone tell me why my Sonos app is using my 4g/ mobile data? Last month it used 1.12gb Thanks
Just took delivery of my Sonos Port and I think there may be an issue with the Line-In connections. The red connector doesn’t seat in the port propery, it won’t go all the way in. In the app, Line-In is showing as disconnected. Anyone had this issue?
Hi - I have purchased a Sonos Beam today and was looking forward to enhancing my TV and music listening experience. However I am extremely disappointed with what I am hearing so far. I have a Sony Bravia KD-55XG8196 that is just a couple of months old and by no means a budget TV. The Beam is connected via the HDMI ACR and so far all I am seeing is a lag when changing the volume on the TV with the TV volume indicator often not showing, and more importantly the volume sounds quite flat and very quiet, where I would normally have the TV set to volume 11-12 I am now having to put it up to around 50 and still I want to go louder. I am watching TV through Sky Q. Before I return the soundbar has anyone got any suggestions on how this can be fixed?
Hello All, so I am on an iPhone 8+ with iOS 13.3.1, and I set up alarms they go off, but on my locked screen I never see the functions to turn off or snooze as the support pages show. I have a Sonos Play 1, Play 5, PlayBar and Sub. I love the system, but not having functionality to control from lock screen does suck and wish Apple and Sonos can play together. I do read something about Apple AirPlay 2 and having to turn that off, I only have 2 apple TV but they are old generation, we stream from our phone to the TV for Disney+ since they are older devices can I can’t download the app to them. I have a desktop Mac and sometimes we stream from that to TV’s. Do I have to turn off AirPlay 2 and if so how? One Sonos support person told me to go on my phone to Systems Preferences to Notifications to make sure I have notifications turned on for Sonos but when I look on my phone under System Preferences>Notifications there is no Sonos App there to check to see if notifications are on - why
Using Sonos Connect to stream to an integrated amp via optical. I've always used Fixed for line-out level but now I see another option, Pass-Through. Tried it, no apparent difference. So what is the difference between Fixed and Pass-Through?
I have a ZP100 that no longer connects to network or at least does for 5 minutes (Sonos says it is toast). Has ANYONE seen a youtube video where the ZP100 is converted to be just an amplifier ? The ZP100 is most analog of the amps, and it seems if you could fashion a volume control and some input switch, it would be possible. It would be a shame to waste an amplifier just because the network i/f is bad. Thanks
After hours of connecting, hard wire, wireless, rebooting everything and then re-setting back to factory settings. Nothing. Both these units get to the end and come back with cant connect. I have not yet re-set the bridge. Is this advisable?? So desperately wanting to go through all my old casettes and ply them over my old home made 12’’ speakers:) Oldskool. Any help would be great Cheers
I’ve managed to tear the cloth on my soundbar (see pic) https://pin.it/3Z9YBJy Can this be repaired/replaced?
Hi,I am sorely missing the option to play music from my iPhone through my Sonos system.I know I can use Airplay but where is the integration? I want to use my iTunes playlists that I created over the years. This is a huge bummer since I invested over $1500 in a smart sound system and I can’t use it to its full extent. I guess I am old school and I still mostly listen to the 500+ albums that I own in addition to streaming on Spotify. But Spotify doesn’t have everything and not the same quality. Plus I can not use my playlists for example to set alarms in the app. Will this feature ever be available?
So I laid my sub horizontally a while back. I laid it with the logo facing down (same as the picture in the quick start guide). Now, after reading the manual it says that the Sonos logo should be facing up. Does this really matter or is it purely cosmetic? I don’t want to damage internal components if the logo is truly supposed to be facing upward. Thanks in advance.
Hey all. I’m wondering if anyone has had ARC issues with a Hisense TV. My sound is constantly bouncing from the Beam back to my tv speakers, and the audio issues are causing the video stream to pause, streaming apps to crash, the tv will reboot altogether, etc. I’ve been going back and forth with support for 3 months now. I’m about to tear my tv off the wall and go with another brand. Please help!
I have a beam and two play:1s. Had them connected for surround sound. Late this afternoon I turned the tv on and none of the speakers were connected. I tried connected them again but could only get the beam connected to the tv. I try to add the play:1s for surround but it says it can’t do that. I need help to get the surround set up again. I just submitted a problem about not being able to get surrounds connected to a sound beam. Now I can’t even get into the Sonos app. It says it can’t find speakers connected to the WiFi. The sound beam is still playing what’s on the tv. But the play:1s have nothing coming out of them. I can’t get a diagnostics number since I can’t get into the app
Manage options all greyed out. Sonos version 10.5 Macbookpro 10.15.3 Catalina. Is this a problem others are having?
Hello, I recently purchased and installed the sound bar. It worked fine for a few days but has suddenly stopped working. Any help would be most welcome. Also, I can’t seem to set up volume control from my LG tv remote. Thank you, M :)
I’m looking to connect 4 speakers to my Sonos Connect:Amp (i can do that, right?) for around my pool area. I’m leaning toward OSD RX640. Do i need an “impedance matching speaker control”, whatever that is? I’ve read something that went way over my head (easy to do with this topic) and now I nervous/confused about ohms and the Connect:Amp. Any explanation for the newbie would be appreciated...
