Hi all, I have a surround setup with an Arc connected to a Samsung Q900RA (2018) through HDMI (channel 3: ARC), two Play Ones as rear speakers and one Sub (2nd gen). The Sub is connected to our network by Ethernet cable and is located no more than 5 meters away from all of the devices in this setup. I also have a couple of other Play Ones and one Play:5 scattered throughout the house. Previously I had a Playbar connected through optical. I’ve had the Arc since release and had no problems up until a few days ago. Occasionally the sound (Internal TV apps as well as external devices) starts to drop-out for 1 second, every 10-15 seconds. Reconnecting power seems to help for a while but the problem reappears at least once a day. Other devices I have connected are a PS4 and a Nvidia Shield TV. As I purchased the Shield TV a few days ago I figured it must have been some CEC (aant er) interference, but the problem does not go away if I disconnect the Shield TV entirely. I’ve also
I need help. I’m trying to find a Blu-Ray player with a separate HDMI audio output that I can run directly into the Arc. That will give me Dolby Atmos. I know it sounds simple, but I can’t seem to find one that does the job. Any advice? Anyone running a similar setup that works? Im running an LG HU70LA projector, and it won’t pass through Dolby Atmos, so I’m hoping a second Blu-Ray audio HDMI directly into the Arc as a workaround will work. Unfortunately, so far Panasonic Blu-Ray players give me no audio when wired directly into the Arc with the audio HDMI. Update: it appears that Sony does not work either when wired directly into the Arc many thanks in advance
Hi All, The Sonos Arc is not "opening" the HDMI ARC port on my TV properly and I need to do it manually each time. In other words, when I turn the TV on via the Apple TV (or TV directly), I manually need to press “input” on the TV remote and click on the HDMI arc port (and see the Sonos splash screen) before the sound starts to come through the Arc instead of the TV speakers. This is really annoying and I previously had the Beam which didn’t have this issue, so it definitely isn’t the TV. My TV is a 2016 LG 4K OLED (OLED55B6T-T) Sonos Product management, could you please add this to your list of things to fix? Regards, James
Looking to implement an office speaker system for a new 6000sqft build out. I’ve always known and trusted Sonos and our IT vendor is pushing us towards Russound. Saying that if we want Sonos, we’ll have to add an amp as well to fill the space. (The largest room is 1500 square feet andI thought 2 Sonos one’s & Five would do the trick) they are arguing because it’s a 20 foot ceiling we would need to use an amp for any system we implement. Which I didn’t think was the case with Sonos… Any thoughts or arguments here? Or any comments from anyone that has evaluated Russound & Sonos for commercial purposes?
How much space do you need to leave off the end of the arc. Considering having it built in a bit to a wall. Thanks.
We have a bar and two speakers. My husband is fairly deaf. I'd like to turn up the two rear speakers so he can hear properly (they are either side of his chair) without making the bar volume higher as currently it's too loud for the rest of the family. Is there a way to set this up please?
I bought a second hand Connect ZP90 thinking that I would be able to plug in my turntable and listen to vinyl through all my Sonos speakers. Perhaps I misunderstood? I’m still not sure if this is possible. I have a Nad 3020 power amp but no pre-amp. Can I connect this to my Connect or will the signal be too strong? If I can use the power amp or I get a turntable pre-amp and line-in to the Connect, can I expect to be able to listen via wi-fi without any hard wired speakers or a line-in to a Play 5? Many thanks
Is it possible to get a pure/flat signal straight from my turntable into my in-ceiling speakers without ANY digital features and EQ? I’m trying to mimic a typical turntable->powered speakers configuration but with my SONOS equipment. Details: Audio-Technica at-lp120xusb turntable using onboard pre-amp / output set to line SONOS Amp connected via analog RCA cables SONOS In-Ceiling Speakers connected via analog speaker wire Again, my goal is no digital features. No streaming, no buffering/delays, no multi-room, etc. Thanks!
Hello. I have a home theater set up with Playbar, two Play:1 surrounds and a sub. Suddenly today, my TV does not appear to be outputting any sound to my home theater. I’ve done all the usual checks (optical cable/red light; TV sound settings; Dolby and not Dolby Plus; etc.). Not that this matters, but I’ve checked my TiVo, Apple TV, and the TV directly to see if any sound passes through and it does not. All boxes are connected via HDMI to my TV; the TV is supposed to pass sound through the optical cable. That everything was working fine for two years and then suddenly stops working is very strange. I’m not sure what worse I can do to fix this. Please help. I have a SONY Bravia 75” 4K OLED TV if that helps. Diagnostic: 1619880235. thanks! Jay
So I have the ATV 4K (using the Infuse Pro app), LG C9 connected via ARC port (enabled eARC) with the Sonos Arc + HT (Sub Gen2 + OneSL) I have a source file playing with Dolby TrueHD 7.1 track but I am only receiving DD 5.1 on the Sonos system as verified by On the App. Is this normal ? Shouldn’t I be or supposedly be getting Atmos sound on the Arc Home Theatre? Netflix, Disney+, and Dolby Atmos test files (playing from Infuse Pro App) are working fine with Atmos though.
I’m interested in getting an Arc. I’d also be getting a new TV, and so can make sure it has the right features. Even so, some discussions about surround sound support give me pause. There doesn’t seem to be one definitive explanation for all this, so here’s my best attempt, as someone who hasn’t typically paid much attention to different surround sound formats, and who is new to Sonos products. Please let me know if I’m understanding correctly, and if there’s anything I’ve gotten wrong. In a traditional HDMI-centered setup, various devices send digital AV signals to a receiver, which decodes the audio to analog for its speakers, and passes on the video to a TV. Each device has its own preferred digital audio output format; the receiver supports most every kind of signal—various Dolby formats, DTS formats, and raw PCM. The Sonos Arc uses a different model: all digital audio signals come from the TV via its ARC HDMI output. Other devices send their signals to the TV. Three limitations:
I’ve got a Sonos Port with audio input from an Apple TV, and output going into an amp and speakers (non-Sonos). I can’t control the volume on the amp remotely. I’d like to have a remote to control the volume on the Sonos Port.I know how to configure an Apple TV remote to control a Sonos Playbar. Is this possible for the Sonos Port?
Hi folks. I am new to Sonos and want to expand my system around the house. I have just bought a new Sonos 5. I have a set of B&O Beolab 18 speakers. I would like to connect these wirelessly to my new Sonos set up. Can the Sonos Connect work wirelessly? Or what would I need?
I wanna buy one, thought I’d better check first though Thanks Glyn
Hi Have connected SONOS AMP to LG 9C TV using brand new High speed HDMI cable via eARC port in TV. Works fine : SONOS AMP receive TV sound through HDMI eARC and plays it in loudspeakers and in other SONOS speakers in my home. During the day I use same AMP to play streamed radio or music - also in the entire home - this also works fine. When it’s time for watching TV I stop the streamed radio/music. Then I turn on the TV using the TV remote and get NO SOUND :-( neither from TV nor from SONOS AMP. The SONOS AMP does’nt seem to react to the eARC signal but the TV knows that AMP is there since it has switched off its internal speakers. To make it work again I need to unplug the HDMI cable (then TV switches sound to internal speakers to indicate there is no HDMI connected) and then I must reconnect the HDMI cable which causes the SONOS AMP to play sound from the TV (and the TV mutes its internal speakers). And the all is as it should be including TV sound in all SONOS speakers. But
Is anyone using the Arc with a Benq W1070 projector? It has 2 HDMI connections (with no ARC support that I know of) and an old 3.5 mm connector. Are the benefits of the Arc lost with this projector? If not, what is the best way to connect? Thanks.
I am growing weary with Sonos. I mean I understand supply chain issues, but come on for real you need to communicate with your loyal customers. I ordered a Five on 6/25, haven't heard anything regarding when my speaker will ship. Almost about to give up. When Will my speaker ship? Simple question, deserves a simple answer
I have a first Gen setup with Playbar, Sub Gen 1, and 2x Play 1's Gen 1. Also a Bridge. If i purchased a Boost and the new Sonos Arc. Can i just swap out the Playbar and use the new Arc with my Sub and Play 1's
I have 9 pairs of Tru Audio Ghost speakers in-ceiling throughout the house connected to a Russound Pro 12HP speaker selector switch and driven as Zone 2 from a Denon 4520 CI Receiver. i’d like to connect a Sonos port to the new Sonos Amp and connect to the Russound switch instead of the Denon receiver. Does anyone know, or have an informed opinion, as to whether the new Sonos Amp would be able to drive all 9 pairs simultaneously? I like the ease of the Sonos interface relative to the Denon and can get all the content I want from Sonos enabled sources.
When I select. Set up new system, and then login with an account I created in the browser, the app says: “Network Problem Check your internet connection and make sure all your products are plugged in. If you’re still having a problem, check the system settings on this device to make sure the date and time settings are correct.” Well both the internet and the date/time settings are correct. It’s set to automatically sync the date and time, but I’ve tried it manually as well. I think something is wrong with the app itself because when I go to create an account with any email in general, it claims the email exists - even if I have NEVER used it with sonos
I currently run my Play:3s as surrounds for my Playbar & Sub. Is there any advantage in running Play:3s for rear surrounds vs Play:1 in this configuration? The sub takes over low frequency duty from the Playbar. Is the low end pulled out of the rears, as well? If so, there might be no advantage in running 3s and they might serve better in a stand-alone mission elsewhere in the house. Meaning, they might be overkill for surround duty in this config. Thoughts? -JR
I miss being able to stream baseball to my Sonos speakers. Just grabbed a Move and even more disappointed now. Are there any reasonable work arounds?
Hey, I'm currently on vacation and forgot to disable the alarm. But there are two types of "power on" standby and off. Is the Alarm working when I turn the Sonos Move Box completely off? Thanks
Hi community! Moving into a new space soon, and looking for some advice for what to get for our LIVING ROOM and how best to set it up. Thanks in advance for your input! First, some background info: Completely new to SONOS, have scraped by on TV audio so far (*GASP*). We’ve purchase two 2nd gen ONE speakers (planned for one to be in the kitchen and one in the master bed/bath). 2nd, here are our planned living room devices: We have a TV streaming device (Firestick, AppleTV, etc) - HDMI connection. We have a Blu-ray player - HDMI connection. We will be purchasing a turntable with built-in pre-amp - line-out connection. The ask: The living room is not huge, so we think one good speaker in that room should suffice. We are far more concerned with FULL, QUALITY audio than we are with surround/theatre sound. When playing music (from any of our devices - turntable being the priority), we would like the ability to play the music through all our SONOS speakers; when watching
Does Sonos support Trueplay with the 2020 iPad (7. Generation) and the iPad Air (3. Generation)?
