Hello everyone! I hope someone can help me here! I cannot get Dolby Atmos to work on the Apple TV 4K, all I get is silence. If I play non-Atmos content from the Apple TV, it works perfectly. Also, i get Atmos just fine if i use the TV’s built in Apps, same goes for my Sony 4K Blu-Ray player too, Atmos discs and app content works perfectly, which is always confirmed with the Atmos logo appearing in the Sonos S2 app on the Now Playing screen. I am only met with silence when trying to play Atmos enabled content on Apple TV, this goes for movies purchased from iTunes and movies on other apps such as Vudu, Netflix and Disney Plus. Atmos just wont work on AppleTV for me. Hello community!I have just purchased my first Sonos setup:2 x Sonos One1 x Sonos Sub gen 31 x Sonos Arc My tv is a Panasonic VT60 55” with 1 ARC HDMI port.1 x Apple TV 4K I did a complete setup yesterday really exited to experience the setup. But something did not sound rigth and when digging a bit i understand my Arc plays Stereo 2.0. Been reading on the forum here and see there is an issue with LPCM or whatever it’s called and Sonos Arc not properly handling it. sorry, my sound skills are not all there yet 😳🤓 Then i did some more digging.Changed audio format from Auto on ATV to 5.1, but then i loose audio on Sonos Arc.Setting audio format back to Auto again and i go back to having stereo 2.0 on the Arc. Then i discovered something…Started Netflix on my ATV and started an episode of Star Trek Discovery.I pulled down the dropdown menu on ATV and see that i can select where to direct my audio, either HDMI or Airplay.so i tried using Airplay to direct the sound from ATV directly to the
Apologies if this has been somewhat answered somewhere deep in another thread! I’m not quite tecchy enough to work out where others’ set-ups will or won’t be similiar to mine. I promise I’ve done over an hour and a half of digging before deciding to add to the confusing spectacle of ‘will my set up work’ questions on this board! I’ll try keep this short as possible to understand in the hope I don’t confuse things. • I have ordered an Arc • I have an LG C9 with eARC • I use Infuse on my Apple TV 4K to stream my movies locally • In lots of cases my rips show as having TrueHD 7.1 Atmos - will they work and will I actually hear Atmos? • In some other cases my rips show as having DTS-HD MA 5.1 - will they work? If I’ve missed any vital details that’ll help answer the question, please do let me know. Since I started reading these community posts (and Sonos’ repsonses in many cases), I’m worried I’ve really splashed out on a dud for my use case. Thanks very much to all in
My Sonos Beam is connected by optical to my LG TV. Everything else is connected by HDMI. For some reason, the volume is extremely low when I'm using my Apple TV 4K or the Xbox One X. But the volume is full and rich with great surrounds when I'm using the Roku Ultra, LG 4K BD player, DirecTV, or streaming through the LG TV. I cannot figure out why the volume is so low on the ATV and Xbox. The sound is just so lifeless and quiet. It sounds like the volume is coming through a 20” tv speaker system.
At what volume level is loudness effectively disabled on the arc? Thanks.
First time poster here…. we are considering an Arc for a home theater setup where the screen will take up most of the wall. There will be 4-6” of space above the TV, and based on room geography placing the Arc *above* the screen might give better sound (upside down so the Atmos speakers point towards the listener, instead of the ceiling in a normal setup). Can you flip the channels on the Arc so that the left/right aren’t reverse when it’s upside down? Any other flags for this setup? Thanks!
Currently have arc and 3rd gen sub connected. The room is wired for right and left rear. If I get sonos port and connect a traditional amp (not sonos) will the room become a pseudo 5.1 with the arc (front right center left), 2 hard wired speakers in the rear and sonos sub? The amp is 2 zone so can I utilize the app and group my speakers? Everything above for living room movies and then party music on 2 hard wired patio speakers both running simultaneously? If not what's my fix to accomplish multi zone utilizing sonos app?
The distance from the wall to the front of my wall mounted tv is 6 inches. If I use the arc wall mount and mount it as recommended the proper distance below the tv will the up firing speakers of the arc be impeded by the tv?
My two play ones have been working fine but recently stopped. I’ve reset as individuals and then a stereo pair and work fine but as soon as add them as a surround sound they stop working and the revert to the green blinking lights. Can anyone offer any advice
Hi dear community!I just got a used Sonos Sub off a deal and I knew it is not working when I’m doing the purchase. However, after I got the Sub and did some testing to set it up I realized it is more complicated than I thought to fix it. So basically the devices just have a white LED constantly flashing, no response to anything, including hold the button to reset. I read from the support page that a constant white LED flash indicates boot failure. There are some interesting symptoms as well: when I connect it to ethernet cable, and search for devices using the iPhone app, it gives “found 0 Sonos product”,(instead of “No Products Found” when it completely powered off), and when I click the Setup button the app just crashes. So basically I assumes there are some problems in the logic board, since it powers up fine and both boards looks in good shape(it’s already teared down). I have no other clues and searched around the community but can't seems to found any resources. For some reason
Hi all. I use the Samsung UBD-K8500 Blu-Ray player and a Beam (with a Sub and two Play 1s). When I play Blu-Rays that have DTS 5.1, the Samsung encodes down to DD 5.1. However, when I watch a film with DTS 2.0 (or any non 5.1 DTS), the Sonos app says I’m getting Stereo 2.0, but never Dolby Digital 2.0. Is DD 2.0 not a thing? Or is there some reason it will encode to DD 5.1 but not DD 2.0?
Hi. I’ve pre-ordered a Arc Surround Sound package and have a TV on the way which uses the Samsung One Connect box. I’d like to add a record player into this setup but... Am I right to think I have to buy a Sonos Amp in order to connect my turntable to Sonos? Or can the Arc accept direct input from a turntable like the Play5 can? (I assume a Sonos Port is no good because I don’t have a separate amp). I’d like to locate the record player on a sideboard well away from the TV. The TV runs all it’s connections into a One Connect box and so the Arc (I think) will physically connect to that. Do I connect my Sonos Amp to the Samsung One Connect box as well - or directly to the Arc speaker? (will the Arc have enough ports to simultaneously have cables connecting from the One Connect box and the Sonos Port?). Thanks to anyone that knows!
I play music using my iphone from my itunes app via airplay through my Sonos One speakers. When I am done playing music using my Sonos speakers. I turn off the music. However when I now just want the music to come out of my phone and not the Sonos speakers, they will not disconnect. I try to disconnect from Sonos but it will not let me. I have to turn off my phone in order to disconnect. I called Sonos already and they were not able to help me. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I’m wondering if I can control the volume of my Sonos Port with IKEA SYMFONISK external volume control? I’m also curious to know whether the play/pause function works too? I stream my music using Apple Music and through AirPlay (I don’t open up Sonos App to play my music) https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/symfonisk-sound-remote-white-20370482/
Hi. I have a Sony OLED A8F that only has ARC. I understand the support sequence for Dolby decoding but wondering if Sonos will now be able to support DTS decoding? Many of my movies I have ripped to disk using the best sound option only and many of those are any line of DTS. Can you please verify if the new ARC will support any of these? Thanks
Yesterday I received my Sonos Beam and went through the setup. I can get sound working out of the Beam but have not been able to sync my remote to control volume. TV model: SAMSUNG UA65JS9000Remote Model: RMCTPJ1AP2 / BN59-01220D I do not run any set top box or any other device out of the TV. It is purely just the TV connected to the Sonos. I don't care about Siri, Alexa or whatever other garbage assistant products that are everywhere now. All I want is to hear sounds from my tv out of a speaker I just dropped $600+ on and be able to control it with the tv remote.I've tried going into the tv settings and setting up the universal remote to add Sonos but all the instructions online assume that you also have other devices connected which I don't.I have searched through all forums that discuss connecting Samsung remotes that use the connect one brain/module etc and nothing works.I have also tried 3 other remotes for other Samsung TV's in the house that are just standard IR remotes and none
I have a question about if I can make Sonos work for a home theatre set up x2. Previous owners had living room with 2 wired architectural speakers over couch that are hooked to a gen 1 Sonos amp that goes to a AV closet. I am able to use this for music but wanted to see if I could incorporate them for the tv. My tv is a 2018 model oled so has arc hdmi although not eArc. If I got a Sonos arc, amp and sub could I hook up Sonos arc to hdmi on tv then bond to new amp connected to speakers and Sonos sub? I primarily use Apple 4K tv for streaming on tv applications. In a downstairs theatre there are 3 rear speakers in wall and 2 in rear in ceiling. These run to a receiver in AV closet and then to a gen 1 connect:amp to bring into Sonos. Could I essentially do the same set up here and replaced the fronts with an arc and set up new amp for rear wired speakers bonded together? thanks in advance.
Hi,Like many of you, I’ve got a DJ Mixer connected to a Five using the line-in. Then grouped the Five with all other Sonos speakers. It works … but the delay is soooo annoying. Honestly, I don`t believe the 70ms that`s always discussed ; it`s more like 2s.Now my question ;Will a Sonos AMP be the better choice here ?So connecting my mixer to the AMP and then wireless to my speakers ?Thanks in advance !Geert.
Hi, I have spoken with support on this issue in the past, but it still seems to be an issue. We fully charged our Move on 8/1 at 5:40 pm and took it off of the charging base. We did not turn it on again until today 8/5 at 9:00 a.m. and the battery life was at 17%. Is this supposed to be happening? Because it can be rather frustrating to have charged it all of the way, only to go to use it later and basically have it be dead even though we haven’t powered it up at all in the time between charging it and powering it up. So far, we have been incredibly disappointed with this product. And yes, we made sure it was powered off when we took it off the charging station.
Hi everyone, I’ve read through the forums and haven’t been able to find a solution to my problem. I just installed the Sonos Arc, connected to Arc (not eArc) HDMI Port 2 on the back of my LG 65EF9500 TV. Apple TV is plugged into HDMI Port 1. I cannot get Dolby Digital 5.1 to pass through from the AppleTV to the Sonos, the App consistently says “Stereo 2.0.” I’ve tried setting the AppleTV Audio Format > Change Format to Dolby Digital 5.1 and still get Stereo. TV Sound Out settings are set to Audio Out (HDMI ARC), with Digital Sound Out - both PCM and Auto didn’t make a difference. Has anyone been able to get this combination of devices to work consistently and if so what is the ideal configuration on the Apple TV and LG 65EF9500 TV? Thank you,Ivan
Purchased 3 used ZP100 Amps so i can wire up some speakers in my house. I have factory reset 2 out of 3 of them with no issues. Process I tried. Hardwired them to my network, held mute buttom and plugged back in and the light turns amber for a bit and them i am able to find them through my sonos Ap and add them to my network. All except for 1 of them . When trying to factory reset it the light never turns orange/amber, just keeps blinking white the whole time. And my amp cannot find it because i’m having a problem factory resetting it. Has anyone ran into this before or have a recommendations? Thank you
Can the desktop controller be updated to use with S2?
I am looking at replacing my Sonos Playbar with a Sonos Arc. I will keep my 2 x Sonos Ones and Sub (Gen 2). However, reading a number of issues around Atmos play through and lip sync issues. Poor lip sync can drive me crazy (the family less so...). My current TV as HDMI ARC (Sony Bravia KD-65X9000E) but not eARC - see specs https://www.sony.com.au/electronics/support/televisions-projectors-lcd-tvs-android-/kd-65x9000e/specifications Anyone have a similar arrangement and can confirm this arrangement will work well as don’t want to fork out a bunch of cash for marginal improvement. Thanks
Bought myself a brand new Sony TV with eARC connection (tv model 55x950g/55xg9505). I've notice that when I put on display the Sonos arc HDMI input, there is no splash screen on TV. Just black screen with message that there is no video signal. Few days ago I had a picture, and later notice that the picture was changed and looks like there is a kind of error. Also, after setup Google home app, the app show a new device named "Sonos tv control", that can't connect (connection failure), as can be seen attached pic to this thread.Atmos and streaming music works well most of the time. However, once in a while there is no sound output from the arc, only after I change the sound settings from Auto 1 to Auto 2, and then get back to Auto 1... Kind of annoying bug.TV runs Android pie 9.0.Not sure if my Sonos arc or the TV is the problem. walkthrough will be welcome! Thanks.
I have a 1 year old, quite high specs, Sony TV with the Disney plus app installed. I have disabled Dolby Digital Plus via the TV settings so that the signal is automatically converted into plain Dolby Digital by the TV. However my Playbar only receives a stereo sound. All other streaming apps (Netflix, Prime, etc.) have no issues. Any idea why? I tried to search previous discussions here with no luck. Thanks Fabio
