Hello guys, I wanted to upgrade to the latest S2 app but I couldn’t get any confirmation if all me devices are compatible with it.From the support page you can see the compatible devices but we only got names and it really confuse when you got connect/amp/gen1/gen2 etc (no pictures or others information). In my case I got 4 Play:1, 1 Playbar, 1 One SL and a Connect.I guess everything is okay except the Connect device that I cannot get any confirmation if okay or not. From the website https://support.sonos.com/s/article/4786?language=eng only the connect Gen2 is compatibly but how can I know if my is a Gen2? I have search on other topics and I don’t get requested confirmation:on the web portal I see all my devices but I don’t have any text legacy or modern juste online and serial number. on the sonos app you don’t have any Gen1 or Gen2 text. when I do “Check compabitility to S2” on the sonos app it directly asks me to update with the page “are you ready to go to S2”. Does it means everyt
I am trying to connect my 12 year old Sony Bravia TV to my brand new Sonos Five using a 3.5 mm male to male cable. One end goes into the tv headphone output jack easily but the other end would not go fully into the 3.5 mm jack of the Sonos Five. I applied a slight force but no success. What am I doing wrong?
My cat ate my cable. I do not see peplacement cables for the connection between the Playbar and the TV. Is this a standard cable or is it specific to the Playbar?
Something rather strange. I have to turn up the volume via remote on the TV before the PVR volume control will work. On turning off and on the volume on the TV resets itself to 0 without the slider bar showing it. meaning I run out of slider to get the volume to work at all. Might be in the TV settings. I have ARC and speakers turned off as only relates to HDMI connection > audio is of ( makes no difference anyway) and optical output set to RAW. Weird huh?. Any thoughts ? - would really like to solve this. Thanks in advance. Mike
Hardware: LG C9, Sonos Beam, Nvidia Shield Pro (2019) Problem: Slight audio skipping when using Nvidia Shield Pro (2019) for streaming content (Netflix, HBO Go, Plex etc.) I have a 2019 Shield Pro that I run a plex server off of. I have the Shield plugged in through HDMI and the Beam as well through HDMI to my LG C9. When using the internal apps, the audio is fine and does not pause or skip. However, when using the Shield to do the same streaming of content, audio skipping is introduced. This did not happen on my old LG Tv with the Shield connected. I have the shield set to play only Dolby codecs, as well as plex. I have verified that I am getting Dolby Digital 5.1 when streaming with the Shield in the Sonos app. Has anyone else experienced this? Very frustrating to have spent money on something I can’t use for its main purpose.
So I just had the update to the app yesterday but now get the message “unable to connect to Sonos”, I know this is not correct as removed the speakers and was able to re apply them to the app but then they were unable to connect again. Speaker and phone on same wifi, speaker work with good assistant so clearly have wifi but the app after the update doesn't work. Have tried both the S! and S2 app as well. Clearly seems to be a app issue or a server issue but no information seems to be available online? Speakers are Sonos One.
I am looking to install speakers on my patio. The patio is wired and the A/V port is in the living room. Since the patio is already wired and I just need to install speakers, would I need the Amp or the Port to get them to play? TIA!
My first Sonos product was a Playbar which at the time required the Bridge. All subsequent products I’v purchased are Sonos 2 compatible and I want to migrate to that. The list of my products show only the Bridge has a warning that Sonos 1 is required. Am I correct then is concluding that my Playbar no longer needs the Bridge to work with my system and I can disconnect the Bridge. I want to use my Playbar occasionally as part of a whole house group and it seems if the Playbar requires the Bridge that won’t be an option and that will now be a stand alone component.
I have a Sonos Arc and 2 Ikea Sonos Lamps for surround sound.I recently introduced a Sonos Port in order to bring my Pro-Ject turntable into the Sonos system. It works great. No complaints. My question is this-Can I add a wired Subwoofer to my system by using the A/V outputs on the Sonos Port? Will the Sonos system recognise it as a Sub and make the appropriate adjustments across the system?I do eventually want to add a Sonos Sub but I have already gone beyond my budget for stereo equipment. A lower priced wired sub would be ideal for me right now, and help justify the cost of the Port. For anyone interested- I can confirm that you can add any normal self-powered speaker to the Sonos System via the a/v output, so if for instance you want to add another soundbar you can do that. Although Sonos won't know where it fits into a surround sound array. I am not sure how subs work, so not sure if it's just a matter of plug and play. Or if subs need a specific signal.
Hi, so this may have been answered before but I couldn’t find it, so apologies - also, all this codec stuff is confusing as hell.Basically, I have a decent amount of Blu-rays and even some 4K Blu-rays that are encoded in DTS/DTS-HD. I have a Sony UBP-X700 player connected to LG C9 Via HDMI, LG C9 connected to Sonos Arc (+sub+one sl surrounds) via hdmi using eArc connection on the LG.As it stands, the only way to get sound from DTS discs is to set the TV to output PCM and that results in basic 2.0 stereo (annoying). I understand LG C9 has an available update that will output multichannel PCM, but the Arc doesn’t currently support this. So I haven’t yet updated the tv.So the questions are: if Sonos releases an update to support multi PCM, will this solve all my problems and the DTS will be converted by the LG to multi PCM and give me surround sound?alternatively, if Sonos don’t provide the update, or it wouldnt actually work like that… is there another solution for those particular discs
I posted this in another thread, and saw others mentioning the same thing, but it was marked as an "answered" question, so I'll post it here as well. Yesterday, my Move was sitting on its base (inside, temperature not hot) all day, power off. Went to use it last night and all that is happening is a constantly flashing orange battery light. No response when I long press the power button. Let it sit overnight on the charger, still nothing. The same thing happened a few weeks ago and I happened to stumble across something that worked online (it involved the wifi/BT button), but can't find that info now. I also was never able to find the device to complete the app setup but I never bothered to keep trying at the time. I will call on Monday, but am really annoyed that I can't use this expensive speaker all weekend.
Hello, i am gonna extend my Sonos system with outdoor speakers and amp. From what i see it have to be installed with cabel between amp and the speakers ..?is the amp waterproof then ao we can leave it on the yard ?
I want to stream music from my media server to my sonos Play:1 devices via upnp, but I can't figure out if it's possible or how to do it. I've checked the "Show UPnP Server" option in the app settings, but I can't find any other reference. Until recently, I had been sharing my music library via samba, but I've found this highly unreliable and would like to move away from it.I do not use Plex and I do not want to.
Hi. I have an older Sonos 3 that was given to me by a friend a couple of years ago. It worked fine for a while, but stopped last week. I have tried re-setting it, but no joy. When I try to turn it on I get 3 low bloomp type sounds. Can any ony help me please? Regards Bob
In my prevous house, I had a Bose Lifestyle V25 surround sound system setup (5.1), and loved it. Just bought a new house that has wall and ceilng speakers (two front, two rear). Was thinking of taking my Bose center channel and subwoofer and connecting to the receiver/amp where those existing speakings are connected, and figure out how to wire it to the four existing speakers.Only issue is that I don’t think the Bose supports 4K video (all inputs go throug it to the TV) and just bought a new Samsung Q80T.Someone suggested hooking up the TV to a Sonos wireless system instead. So my question to everyone -- Is this a good approach? That is, buy a Sonos controller (?), center channel (Beam? Arc?) and subwoofer, and use existing wall/ceiling speakers for front and rear channels. Can all this be wireless via WiFi? (Snaking wires may be a problem in this new house.)Thanks in advance!
I am using my Sonos Beam on wifi channel 11 (Wireless router is on channel 1). Recently my Playstation PS4 Controllers started experience lag when I was using the Beam. Thinking it was wireless interference I connected the Beam to ethernet directly to my router and disabled the wifi but still was having this issue. The only time the issue goes away is when I disconnect the HDMI Arc from the Beam. As soon as i connect the HDMI Arc back to the Beam the PS4 controllers start lagging. Any suggestions?
Hi,I recently bought Sonos Arc sound bar and I absolutely love it. I am, however, having an issue in getting my TV to talk to it. When I turn my 2015 Samsung TV UA65JS9000WXXY on, it reverts back to internal speakers. I cannot then change sound output to Arc due to AnyNet+ connection error. Sonos app says it encountered connection issue. My initial workaround was to disconnect every HDMI input cables from Samsung One Connect box to get TV to talk to Arc. Then I figured if I turn my IPTV box on, it ‘unmutes’ Sonos Arc and I then start getting sound through it. I have to do this every time even if I want to use internal apps like Netflix. Although this turnaround works, it is very frustrating every single time. I am not quite sure if there is a bug in TV’s software. Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions?Cheers
I am trying to upgrade to the S2 app and cannot get past the terms of use. I view and scroll all the way down but there is not accept or way to acknowledge I agree with them.
After hours of movie watching , the ARC sound just Cuts out…. When I shut the tv off and on again the sound comes back on… I have a top of the line Samsung QP82-R and it is not the issue. What’s up with this ARC and all the posts same as mine of sound suddenly going mute…??????
Hi Guys, My system is currently fully operational on S2. I have no legacy products on the system at all. However When I login to my account on Sonos.com it show under my product two legacy devices. A Sonos controller and a Sonos Bridge. I no longer have these devices. How can I remove them from the list? Thanks in advance STeve
I have a Sonos Beam and 2 Sonos one speakers of which I would like to attach an android TV box to my Samsung 50” series 8 smart TV and receive the sound through the Sonos Beam. Currently the android tv box that I have attached to my tv is connected by HDMI cable. When trying to play through the android box the sound reverts to tv speakers rather than the Sonos beam. If I were to purchase a new android box with optical connection port and connect it to my tv with an optical cable Would this allow the sound to come through my Sonos Beam?your advice would be very much appreciated.cheersGraham
I have been running into intermittent distorted/choppy audio issues with my Sonos Beam only when using the HDMI audio input from smart TV. Wireless streaming is okay. The choppiness/distortion goes up and down when I adjust the Sonos volume and only happens when there is some audio input. When the audio source is changed to streaming music, the issue goes away. However, reverting to HDMI audio causes the distortion to re-appear. Power cycling the Beam seems to help temporarily but issue returns after a couple of days.My system includes a Beam and two Play:Ones in surround configuration. Distortion was only noticed in the Beam and not the surround Play:Ones. The Beam has a wired internet connection. I’ve tried switching the wireless channel between 11/6/1 but issue still persists. The distorted sound only shows up when using the Sonos Beam. Audio is okay when using the TV speaker. I have tried swapping the HDMI cable but issue still persists. I’ve disconnected all other HDMI inputs to
As of today I can't get the S1 Controlder app to work even though Android 6 should still work? All was working OK yesterday ? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling?
Hi everyone, Has anyone had any experience of successfully setting up a Beam AND a Hue Sync Box on one HDMI CEC/ARC output? I have a Beam connected to my LG 43UH661V via the HDMI-CEC port on the back of the TV. As you know this gives me Alexa voice control to switch the TV on, off, etc. I want to keep this Alexa functionality (so using the optical port is out of the question) and add a Philips Hue Sync Box to the setup. The Sync Box also required an HDMI ARC or CEC connection but I only have one on the back the the tele.
After having my 2014 S1 bridge and connect disconnected from my stereo system for about a year I recently reconnected them. I’m not sure if I have a problem or not. According to the Sonos LED lights web page a flashing green light means you have a product ready to be set up. After reconnecting the bridge to my router and then connecting the connect to my stereo system and then opening the Sonos app on my iPhone everything seems to work fine. BUT I have a blinking green light on the top of the bridge the blinks every couple of seconds continually. I don’t remember that happening before and my question is basically should I be concerned about the blinking light as everything seems to work? is there any way to stop it from blinking? Thanks
