I am looking to slowly build a full surround home cinema experience with a Sub, Arc and everything. But as this is a costly en-devour looking to slowly buy the parts over time. As such I have a question.I currently have a Sonos AMP hooked up to my TV through HDMI. If I buy two Sonos One SL’s can I already combine these as a surround sound set or do I first need to get a soundbar like the Arc?
Greetings everyone, Looking for some guidance on outdoor speaker set-up. We’re building a boathouse on the Lake and wanted to leverage the Sonos/Sonance outdoor speaker system for audio. We we’re considering using the Sonance Mariner Speaker set plus the Sonos Connect Amp, but have since seen that Sonos has their own “Sonos Architectural Outdoor Speaker” package as well, that was built in collaboration with Sonance, and powered by the Sonos Amp. Not sure if there’s an advantage between the two setups but any guidance would be helpful. Our overall approach for the boathouse is to install 4 speakers in the boat house and wire them back to the boathouse bar area to connect to the Sonos Connect Amp. Each speaker will be about 75-120’ away from the Sonos Amp and thinking of using an outdoor 12 gauge speaker wire. We’re contemplating using an enclosure for the Sonos Amp to help mitigate heat/water exposure. We’ll also install an outdoor TV at the bar area with a Sonos Soundbar. I think
The mantle inside dimensions are 5"h x 71"w x 6"deep. I may try to hide a cable box in here too. My questions are: 1). I can lay the Playbar on it's back, with the mount holes on the bottom? 2) will I still be able to exprience nearly the same quality of audio with this covered by a speaker foam across the face of the mantle?
Hello, since some months ago I had Playbar connected to the optical of the TV. Xbox one X and PS4 were able to transcode DTS to DD5.1 without issue on my bluerays Now I moved to Arc with eARC connection and I’m no more able to. does anyone have the same issue? thanks
Hello, when I try to switch from playing music to the tv I can’t just select the browse > tv option. I have to go in and turn off the play bar from the speaker group. Select the play bar room. Turn it to tv. Then select the playbar that is ok the tv and re-select all the speakers to get them on the same audio. Is this a glitch on the Sonos app or is it supposed to be this difficult?
Hi, I have Sonos connect gen 2, less than 2 years old. It disappears from the app, white light in the front is flickering, Ethernet lights are on (all of them). I've tried everything to solve this problem with out luck. What I found on other community is the power supply is faulty.Any suggestions, experience ?
I have two Play:1, one Play:3, one Playbar, one Sub, a Sonos One (Gen 1), and one Connect which I purchased approximately 3 years ago. All of these appear to be on the Legacy Products list, but you currently do not have a modern product to take the place of my system products. Will I have to upgrade my entire system after May 2020 or the near future and does this mean that you will ONLY offer me 30% on new products which is a pittance of what I purchased my entire system for? On a different note, I was informed my products were manufactured in 2015 or earlier and only had a 5 years or so lifespan. Why didn’t Sonos recall the older products knowing back then that these systems would be outdated in the future? Because of course, retailers aren’t going to TELL a customer that a product has a shelf life because they are all about the profit and will sell the product no matter what.
my wife recently purchased an outdoor movie projector to watch movies outside. We set it up using an HDMI to an ipad pro, the plan was to use our sonos Move as the speaker. To our amazement the theatre sound somehow synced to our outdoor speakers which is driven by a sonos connect amp, and to our play 5 which is located in our kitchen. It was amazing…..however…..we do not know how we achieved it! We can not figure out how we got these speakers to play, rather frustrating….we have been using the move by itself since, using the bluetooth feature. Can anyone shed a little light on to what we did to get these speakers synced. totally clueless! thanks!!
Wondering what the ideal ceiling height for the Sonos Arc might be. my ceilings are 13 feet. Is 13 feet ceilings too high for effective Dolby Atmos Effects to be heard?please advise. thanks
My SONOS Move battery will not charge via USB-C port on the back. This is the first time I have tried to charge it away from home (and away from the charge base). Much to my disappointment, none of the USB-C chargers I (or any of my friends) travel with seem to deliver any charge to the battery (which is now dead). I have tried two chargers that both output 15V/3A, which meets SONOS spec. It could be a faulty port? Any advice or guidance would be appreciated.
First-timer here and new to the Sonos community and ecosystem. I’ve recently populated the house with 5 x Sonos Fives + an Arc + Sub Gen 2. All lovely sound so far, but I have a slight issue playing music from a separate Astell & Kern (A&K) SP1000m portable music player. The A&K player has the ability to play music files to any other network-connected speakers, and all my music files stored on the player are recognized by the Sonos app. I can play the music files through the Sonos Fives, but the problem is that selecting “Next Track” on the music playing screen on the app does not play the next track(!). It’s very puzzling. I can pause, go back to the start of the track, or go back to the previous track. I can even “fast-forward” within the track, but for some reason, the app does not allow the next track to be played, which is disappointing, because I cannot then select the next track on a separate remote control device (iPort Xpress Audio Keypad), and it’s a bit clunky to
I accidentally set my Move speaker up on my guest Wi-Fi, but my Sonos system is on my private home Wi-Fi. Now the app won’t find the Move and I can’t figure out how to change it to the correct Wi-Fi network. Ideas? Thank you.
My Sonos Beam is unable to connect to the app or to any other services. I’ve tried restarting WiFi, unplugging the Sonos, and resetting the app, all with no luck. I refreshed the Beam to factory settings and attempted to set up as a new device, but I cannot get past the step where you press the button on the back of the device. I press it, and nothing happens even after several minutes. So currently it’s functioning only as a TV sound bar, with no connectivity and no sound optimization, which is frustrating. And there’s no way to log a ticket, and contacting Sonos on the phone during business hours is not convenient.
I have not been able to find any info here that shows me how I can save a playlist to my PC, I have to uninstall sonos as I believe the download was corrupted. When I migrated my music folders to sonos, it appeared as though not all the music came over, so I want to do a clean uninstall and reinstall a new download, but I would like to be able to save my playlist to my PC if this is possible, any advice would be welcome.
Hi - is there a way to connect a Sonos Port with some sort of Bluetooth transmitter (that in itself can be paired with a high end Bluetooth speaker system in a hot tub that has it’s own device name and needs a pairing code)? Very frustrating trying to get my whole house Sonos System to connect with this hot tub. The reason I want it to connect is we have other outdoor Sonos speakers, and we want to use our Sonos library in the hot tub. Any help appreciated. The Hot tub does not have any auxiliary input connection capability that I can find.
Hi guys Is it possible to use 2 of the new Five speakers with the new Arc soundbar? So like the Arc as Center channel, and the five as the front left and right channel.
I have an Apple TV 4K and use a stereo pair of Sonos Ones for audio via Airplay 2. Problem is, the audio output on the Apple TV never stays set to the Sonos, so I always have to manually switch it back via the control center, which is quite cumbersome when you have to do it constantly. What I’m looking for is a shortcut that would allow me to tell the ATV to switch its audio output to that group of Sonos speakers to avoid needing to do this every time. I’m running the iOS 14 beta, which does have several more options for controlling the Apple TV, but I still do not see a way to do this. Do any of you Shortcuts wizards know of a way to do this?
I’ve lost my remote. How and where do I purchase a new one? Thanks. Also, I purchased my playbar in Dec.2019. Do I need Sonos S2 or do I stay with S1.
I was using “passthrough” on my Samsung Q85T TV instead of “auto” as it was giving the best audio outputs. However, it has now randomly removed the “passthrough” option on my TV and will only allow “auto” or “PCM” - any idea why or how to fix? Should note that this is the case using the built in Netflix/Prime etc apps.
Beam constantly kicks my Bluetooth connection off when connecting to Bluetooth headphones on Samsung tv. Welcome community advice
Hello,is there any solution to connect ARC to a TV without any ARC output, and without Any optical output ?Thank you In advance for your help,
I have 'Kitchen' (Play 1) and 'Living Room' (Beam, with HDMI to TV) grouped playing music, then I stop the music playing as I settle down to watch TV.But.. upon turning TV on, it kicks Beam into action and then starts playing it's Sonos group - kitchen starts again! It's annoying, the Beam shouldn't start it's group again, it should realise it's the TV HDMI turning it on and it should think "only Living Room, not Kitchen"'TV Autoplay' and 'Ungroup on Autoplay' both enabled in Living Room's Home Theatre settings. Bug, or mis-configured?
Since Sonos doesn't offer/recommend one, i'm wondering if the retrofit enclosures made for the Sonance medium-round (model VP64R) could work - https://www.sonance.com/in-wall-in-ceiling/visual-performance/accessories/round-squareretrofitenclosures I’m certainly open to any other recommendations for existing enclosures/back-boxes that would fit.
Hi, my new Sonos arc drop sound while watching netflix.tv: Samsung 65’ mu8000Please help!
First, I’m happy with the Arc; it delivers great 5.1 Dolby Digital Plus surround sound, working with our Sony X950h TV’s eARC port (plus our Sub and rear One speakers). Ratings.com says that this Sony will pass through all flavors of surround signals, including Dolby Atmos. But I have yet to encounter the much ballyhooed Atmos. I’ve read that many Netflix shows include Atmos. I have revisited some of their most recent 5.1 DD+ original programming, on the assumption that if any shows would include Atmos, they would. I’ve streamed them both via my Roku box and via the Netflix app that’s native to the TV. In both cases, the S2 app confirms I’m getting a 5.1 DD+ signal, but there’s no evidence of Atmos. “Atmos” also doesn’t display in the app’s home-theater “room” setting. I’ve set all the TV’s HDMI ports to “enhanced,” as recommended. Am I missing something? Does anybody have thoughts re. why I don’t seem to be getting Atmos? It’s not mission-critical by any stretch of the imagination, bu
