Hello! I have the following; spotify premium an echo show 8 sonos 3 playbar sonos 1 I have figured out how to get music to play through my Sonos speakers using voice commands through my echo show. When I ask the echo what song is playing it just tells me verbally what is playing but doesn’t show the album artwork or song name on the screen. Same thing if I ask for the lyrics to be shown. Just a blank screen. Any idea how this can be achieved?
I recently installed 4 Sonos In-Ceiling speakers which are hooked up to two Sonos Amps and am trying to hook it up to a brand new outdoor SunBrite TV. FR & FL to one amp (which I’m trying to hardwire the TV to)RR & RL to the other amp. My problem is that I’m not getting sound from the speakers with anything that I do. HDMI ARC → CEC On. Sonos App is saying that TV model is not recognized and won’t connectAudio Cables from amp to back of TV → Sonos App recognizes the connection and I rename it, but still no sound from the speakers. Any ideas would be appreciated. Been at this for a few hours.
I upgraded my TV to an LG OLED77CX (which is incredible I must say) that has eARC. I also have an Arc 5.1 system with the Sub and Play:1’s. When I connect my PS4 the Sonos app tells me that I am getting Dolby Multi-Channel PCM 5.1. My PS4 is set to output Bitstream. My TV has eARC on and Digital Sound Out set to Auto. So my TV must be converting the Bitstream DD 5.1 from the PS4 to the Dolby multi channel PCM 5.1. But then how does Sonos Arc recognize it since I thought multi channel PCM wasn’t available on the Sonos Arc? When I set my TV’s Digital Audio Out to Passthrough instead of Auto the Sonos app tells me it is DD 5.1 which makes sense since that is what the PS4 is outputting.
My Sonos earc will trigger the screensaver on my Sony OLED a8h TV when listening to content from a cable company plugged into an hdmi port. Only the image disappears replaced by the TV screensaver. The sound continues to be played. This screen saver keeps reappearing until I use the controller to navigate through the Android apps offered by the TV without having to activate them. Subsequently, the broadcast via the cable distributor is carried out without problem ... until the next day. Yes the screen saver option is on off on the tv...
I currently have a Arc, Sub Gen3, Pair of Sonos One 5.1.2 home theater setup. Wondering if I should switch the rear speakers to Sonos Five speakers? Would it enhance the home theater experience or would it be a overkill? I am willing to pay the extra money for Sonos Five as long as it enhances the experience by a considerable amount. Also, 2nd part of my question is if I do use Sonos Five as rear speakers and stream music to this system, does the music that come out of Sonos five, Sub Gen 3 (and arc sound bar) will be same as if I had a 2.1 system with Sonos five and Sub gen 3 or since this is in home theater setup, music experience is difference from standalone 2.1 system built with these same products. Note: My question is after changing the setting in Arc home theater system to play full music in rear speakers instead of using it as ambient speakers
Away to take the plunge with arc and sub for tv but enjoy stereo music also so was thinking of fives for rear & stereo use, is this possible or is arc good enough with ones for music and rears also without fives what’s best way to connect turntable
Hi we want to use one of our Sonos One speakers with a travel router away from home during term-time. Is it necessary or best to reset the Sonos speaker and set-up as new, with a new account, when we use the travel router, and then reverse the process when back home?Thank you.
Hello! I have business based in Poland and I am a register EU VAT tax payer and I would like to purchase some Sonos products and receive a zero VAT invoice - does anyone know how should I proceed when placing my order? I might be mistaken, but from what I understand, some Sonos products are being shipped from Europe; thus European taxation regulations are applicable here. Thanks in advance for any help! The support hotlines are extremely busy lately…
I was looking at trying to setup a 5.1 surround system in a theater room with Sonos. I’ve read that if you setup the sonos Amp as surround that it disables the sub output and the line input which I would prefer to not have.So that leads to my questions on if it’s possible to have the Sonos Arc as the center channel that plugs into the eARC HDMI port from the TV along with 2 sonos amps? The thought is to have the Arc plugged into the TV and then have 1 Sonos Amp communicate wirelessly to the Arc setup as a front TV speakers with the sub output active and have that one power the two front left and front right Sonance in wall speakers as well as the Sub. Then have a second Sonos Amp communicate wirelessly to the Arc setup as surround (which will disable the sub output) that would then power the rear left and rear right Sonance in ceiling speakers. I would like these to all function as one room within the App is possible.I was told by Ana C through the Sonos support chat that two Amps ca
Dear Sonos,I have a sonos arc and with the following audio fragment the bass sounds really awful. It appears in the Netflixx serie Trickets, season 1, episode 6, 24:17 minutes. I suggest you listen to this audio clip yourself on a Sonos Arc with a volume of 30-40% and would like to hear your comments. Because this really doesn't make any sense.
Regularly when opening the Sonos S2 app on my Android Pixel 2 XL, I open it to just adjust the volume, skip a song, change the music, add a speaker to a group or remove one and I’m met with a very regular issue where the app shows me correctly what’s playing, but trying to do any of the above doesn’t cause anything to happen, and i’m then met with a popup message that says “Unable to connect to device, try again later” even though it’s clearly able to see what is playing, and the current volume state of each speaker, and the group configuration of speakers. To resolve this I often have to force close and reopen the Sonos S2 app anywhere between 1 and 5 times before I can get control over my devices. Edit: Ironically, tried to submit diagnostics reports and that failed the first 4 times. The 5th worked and the diagnostics code is 986794701.
My Sonos Arc has a right side bias for sound output. The left side side pointing speaker has less volume and tone than the right side right pointing speaker. It does not matter what source I’m using (AppleTV or other streaming devices). The difference is extremely noticeable. All speakers seem to be working. Anyone else having this problem? Any solutions?
Following installation of a new Sky hub I am unable to connect to my Sonos system on my HP Desktop computer (Windows 10); however, I am able to connect to Sonos using my Android phone and tablets (both use the S1 app). When I start the S1 Controller App on the laptop it opens with:In the “More Options” section I tried “Connect to Existing Sonos System” and However, when I try to open the Sonos app again I get the same message as shown in the first screenshot (above).I have just installed a new hub and updated new Wifi name and password on all my devices. My system is: 1 x BRIDGE (Version 11.2.2 2 x PLAY 1 (Version 11.2.2) 1 x PLAYBAR (Version 11.2.2) I have tried all the remedies in the website troubleshooting guide, i.e. unplug and restart router, etc. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Sonos1 app on desktop; and made sure VPN is turned off.Thank you.>
I intend to use one of these to power my amp on/off using the 12V trigger from the port. AUDIOPHONICS Trigger 12V 230V Slave Power Supply Device Assume this will work and the amp will power off 2 mins after music stops as per previous topic?
Hello! So im running a beam, sub 3gen and 2x play:1 as my living room setup. When I switched from PCM to Dolby Digital 5.1 on my SamsungTV the speech in Tv-dialogues became much lower compared to when Im using PCM, even though I’m using speech enhancing option.Does anyone know how to fix it?
Is it OK to leave the Move on its charger full time? Will over charging diminish long term battery life like it does to cell phones?
Is there a recommended longer HDMI that will work with Sonos ARC, the one that came with it is shorter, I need 10' atleast, I have an LG OLED CX 2020 with eARC. I ordered the Crutchfields premium HDMI cable and it didnt work. Please assist.
Hello, the above mentioned error message appears each time I try to add speakers to a group - I am using S2 app. The other devices are shown but I cannot connect. My Sonos experience is limited to playing on the devices connect via cable to my LAN. The devices relying on wireless connection are shown but do not connect. My old play 5 which was incompatible works perfectly using the S1 app. This inability to add devices was not apparent the first time I updated. Help.
System: I have a 2017-vintage Connect that ties a Marantz receiver + Integra power amp + several in-wall wired speakers to three Play 1s and a Move. (Essentially, we had a wired house before I integrated it with Sonos.) It’s unclear to me what benefit I will get from trading in the Connect for a Port. The trigger is of limited benefit because the Marantz amp is usually already on. Sounds like S2 will offer support for Tidal Masters (nice, not sure it’s worth the upgrade) and some as-yet undefined other improvements to the user interface. How are other Connect owners thinking about the cost/benefit of shelling out $300 for a Port? It’s just not clear to me what I will get in return for the outlay. Thanks
We just moved into a new home. In the living room, there are two in-wall front speakers, two in ceiling speakers, and an in-wall sub (5 speaker surround sound home theater). The system was installed around 2005. There are also two wired outdoor speakers. The previous owner has all the inputs ready for banana plugs in one location. He must have had a receiver and amp.I would like to be able to use my Sonos app to control the sound of these 5 home theater speakers (including sub) when I buy and hook up a new TV, and also control the two outdoor speakers. I have other Sonos speakers in other rooms in the house. Is there any way to do this? I don’t want the pre-existing in wall home theater speakers or outdoor speakers to go to waste.Thank you for any advice or suggestions!
Hi. I've just bought a Sonos Arc to go with my also brand new LG CX OLED TV. Everything is working as anticipated for the most part, with streaming through apps working perfectly. However, maybe I'm a bit old fashioned but the majority of my movie collection is still on blu ray. I've always used my xbox one (original model) to play the blu rays - this is just connected to one of the TVs HDMI ports fyi, and the Sonos Arc to the eARC. I'd heard about the issues with the Arc's lack of support for DTS but I, perhaps naively, assumed that the devices would communicate with each other to find a solution. What I didn't know beforehand is that the LG CX also doesn't support DTS, which baffled me as the 2019 model did.The result is that I'm getting no sound from my blu rays whatsoever. I heard that newer versions of the xbox have settings that allow you to transcode DTS to DD etc, but my OG Xbox One doesn't have these options.Does the lack of DTS support on all my devices mean that I'm basicall
HiCan someone point me in the direction for the release notes of firmwares for the Sonos ARC.I can find a sonos page with software release notes but nothing on recent firmwares.I find it bizarre that they release updates and don’t seem to tell us what these updates fix/add. Could not find notes on 12.0.4 and recent 12.0.5 firmware. Do Sonos keep these things secret?
Hi learned Sonos Community since the change to Sonos s1 whilst playing radio via Sonos thro tunein I keep getting the same ad appearing, never happened before any one else had same issue thanks Al
I recently upgraded my existing Playbar sound system with the Boost, and then did the S2 update. However, I do not get sound when trying to play certain streaming channels--such as Hulu, Showtime, Amazon Prime, and others. Other channels like Netflix and HBO Now are fine and I can get sound through my Playbar. I’ve made sure the TV audio settings are correctly set, and I’ve followed all the instructions on this page: https://support.sonos.com/s/article/3339But, still no audio on most of our streaming channels (which we get through a Roku device). Any advice?
