Hey Sonos, Love the product(s) (P1 and P3's), but your updates now are troublesome to say the least. Update 9.0 took 3 attempts, had to manually restart a speaker to get the update to work and then another separate speaker lost it's registration and my music library had to be rebuilt because the path was gone/lost in the configuration. These issues never used to be a problems updating. What gives?
SONOS Beam is intermittenly dropping sound while watching TV. I have a 4K Samsung TV connected via coaxial cable. (Comcast) The Beam is connected to the TV via HDMI (ARC) I have seen some replies suggesting network latency or interference. This should not come into play in this configuration. Also, I have no issues whatsoever streaming music to the Beam over WiFi. Please advise as this is very frustrating. Update: This started the other night and since has not happened again. At this point it looks like it was not a Sonos issue.
I have 2 SONOS BOOSTS, 1 in the Study wired to my router, the other, wireless up high in the kitchen. I have 4 play 5’s Gen 1 and 2 around the house. Looking at my matrix the Kitchen BOOST is doing nothing. Am I interpreting the matrix correctly?
Sonos should create a better mini-player on the desktop. A pop-up would be nicier to show your current track/playlist. It should work a like itunes does. I just want to close the application window and still be abled to be informed!
Yes, this is sort of a ridiculous idea, but there's a minor issue I have regarding the Beam's power cord. Let me explain. For one of my setups, the TV is mounted on the wall. So of course, I have the Beam mounted under the TV...but not right under the TV. I want to be able to access the manual controls, so I placed the beam a few inches below the TV. That means that I have a few inches between the TV and beam where the power cord and the hdmi cable are visible. It doesn't look bad, but it's not ideal. I wouldn't mind hiding the cables in the wall (as I do with the TV), but technically the power cord is rated for in wall use (or is it?). The HDMI cable is fine for in wall use. I can't really use a outlet relocator kit as it would be too big. So my options are to just punch a small hole in the wall and not worry about being in code, or get an on-wall cable mgmt. thing. I'm opting for the latter. Anyway, just thought it would be cool if the next hypothetical Sonos sou
do you notice a big difference wlth 2 sonos one speakers instead of 1 and can you hear guitar and other instriments out of one and voice out of other
If wiring two Klipsch awr650 speakers to one connect amp, do I wire the speakers in series? The speakers have both left and right channel built in. I can wire them to act as single channel, but they will be about 60’ apart. Each speaker has 4 conductor cable.
It's on a shelf but has space at the ends and the sides of the shelf are open. I've taken it out and put it on top and I think it sounds better. But I think it might be me imagining it.
I've been using my playbar for quite a period, and all of a sudden it is vanished from the controller app and the status light stays white. My play 3 and play 1 work perfectly fine and i've never had any problems with the playbar
Hi! I have a 5.1-setup in my living room (Playbar + Sub + 2 x One) and a Sonos One that I move around the house as needed. When the update hit earlier this month my "solo"-One popped up as a speaker option on my iOS-devices, but the surround-setup in the living room did not. I have read the Airplay 2-guide which was released with the patch, and the guides says that you can use compatible Sonos-speakers (my Ones) in conjunction with speakers (my Playbar and Sub) that are not compatible with Airplay to make the combined unit airplay-compatible. This does not seem to work for me though. I have tried setting up the surround-unit again, but still no luck. Any tips?
Has Sonos lost its mind !!! Why in this day and age can the owner of the house not limit the volume and use of certain zones for the obvious reasons. Max volume and usage hours being the obvious. Kids, Parents, Grandparents, with bad hearing aids, Oh !!!!!! lets not forget the annoyed neighbours in the mix. If Sonos don't do it quick then there is a market out there for any clever techy that can develop a solution !!!!!!!!!!!! Lets hope Sonos come to the table before the developers have too............. I would very much appreciate any third party controller advise. Running 15 zones between a private villa and private yacht all on Sonos.
i have a problem with the latest update, my bridge doesn't want to update and reply me : error 30 : bridge. i try all the things that you suggest but nothings working. i send you the diagnostics confirmation : 324199901 . thanks
This is offered for your system management and senior development staff, please forward I have had SONOS installed in our home (a $15K system) for 4+ years and it works and sounds great, but.... You keep updating your app to add features and "correct bugs". You are driving users nuts, it's a sound system, not a critical heart monitor or sophisticated pc. We have 2 i-phones, 2-ipads and a Mac. Everytime you update, we can't turn the system on or off. and the update takes some time. First, if you are going to update, advise the user that an update is available and leave system control capability available until the update is complete. Organize your updates so they are made periodically, like every 3-4 months rather than as some developer gets a wild hair. Test your systems before released, this last round had 3, 4,... who knows how many updates to fix bugs. If you are not a teenager, are gainfully employed, have kids, are not independently wealthy, are over 60 or only moderately techni
Hi forum members! I am going to buy the playbar tomorrow. I am not sure will I place it on a shelf below the TV or on its thiner edge on the top of the shelf, where currently sits my qacoustics M4. See photo (smartphone, croped, not sure the QM4 is visible 🙂 The sitting position is 5,5 metres away. Honestly, I am a bit worried: -i haven't tried the playbar in my room, so I don't know how it will sound. However, My two play 3 do very well. -i aspect slight degradation in sound compared to the QM4. The qacoustics, wherever is placed, projects the dialogue right in front of the TV. I am not sure the Playbar will be able to do that, (angle of speakers when in different positions) However, Sonos won me over with it's simplicity. I want to add more components. Playbar was in my sight a long time ago. After all, I'd could be surprised :-) I would love to hear what you think. Neven
Hello, Had Sonos play 5 for a while. Stopped working on Wifi. At the moment using ethernet cable. When trying Advanced settings > wireless setup I get "wireless problem" message. Password and SSID are correct. Diagnostics number: 1318001570. Any help would be appreciated.
STOP IT. SERIOUSLY. JUST STOP IT. I JUST WANT TO LISTEN TO MUSIC. I WANT TO BE ABLE TO TURN ON MY STEREO AND LISTEN TO MUSIC AND RELAX. INSTEAD YOU CAUSE ME STRESS WITH YOUR CONSTANT INTERRUPTIONS.
There was an older thread on this topic I replied to, but figured I'd start a new one if it wasn't seen. I have a pioneer elite pro-920hd plasma and I have recently purchased the sonos playbar only toi learn that its incompatible with the playbar and can't get sound when i run the digital optical cable from the playbar into the tv's optical audio output. It was suggested i get one of these two switches: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HM1RP6G/?th=1 https://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=101&cp_id=10110&cs_id=1011002&p_id=5557 I am just curious if anyone knows which is better and/or if there is a superior option? Also, how would i hook this up? One option that was also suggested is that I run the optical cable right into my cable settop box. That's fine, but then how would I get sound on my apple tv? Thanks for any help/feedback.
Thinking about getting the Sub to add to my Playbase, and my 10 year old son asked me an interesting question: If you add the Sub, does it turn off the woofer in the Playbase? Guessing no, but can anyone verify?
I’ve seen the threads talking about two play ones and a sub, and I love my play ones. But I bought a play 5 and I love that too, but not as much as the ones bang for the buck. Now, I’m debating on either buying a sub or another play 5. I’ve read only good things about the sub, but another play 5 would be cheaper , I know it’s good and I could use it in stereo. So, what do you think? Buy a sub to use with a single play 5 or buy another play 5? Which would you recommend?
Hello, I want to get the Sonos Beam with hopes of doing a surround system with 2 Ones, but I am unsure if my TV will output surround sound or just stereo. I currently have a PS4 for streaming and a Samsung UN46F7500 46-Inch 1080p 240Hz 3D Ultra Slim Smart LED HDTV. I see on CNET's page that it decodes Dolby Digital Plus. Will that be ok? I was thinking of getting a roku streaming stick, but was also worried about the fact that they mostly do DTS? (Sorry if I sound naive, but all the types of signals kind of confuses me...)
hi all i have 1 problem with the sonos controller i open it stay on sonos logo and crash at says sonos Desktop controller has stopped working please help me :(:(:(:(:(:(
My TV is mounted above a fireplace and given the placement I don't have enough room to mount a soundbar of any size (I have about 2" between my mantle and the bottom of the TV...and no, I don't want a smaller TV!) I'm thinking of using 2 Play One's to connect to my TV either on stands, or mounted on either side of the TV. I recognize I would have to use a Connect as well, and I have an optical cable that runs from my TV to a media area so the setup is relatively easy. I don't really care about full 5.1 setup, I just want better sound quality than my TV currently offers. Any recommendations on whether this setup is adequate, or any recommendations on an alternate setup that might make this better? Thanks in advance for any insight.
I don't know how long this post will be allowed to stay up, but I hope long enough to warn any prospective buyers. Up until this year, I've been the proud owner of 2 play bars, 2 subs, 3 play 1's, and 1 bridge ($3,500 total). The last few updates have been horrible; they've reduced functionality and crippled mine and others' systems (check the community posts), and even worse, they have not been resolved! They just keep pushing updates with new "features". Save yourself the headaches and hours of frustrating phone calls with their tech support. If they fix their articulated issues then I will greenlight them again, but holy s***, this is the worst case of buyer's remorse I've ever had.
Uh oh. Last night, watching a Bluray via an XBox One X to Sony x900e and the lip sync was off. Sonos app only lets you modify lip sync the opposite that it needed to go so that only makes it worse. I watched a Bluray a couple days ago and the audio seemed fine as well as a few Netflix episodes via the XBox... Maybe I'm just noticing it now. All HDMI connections. Any thoughts? Hoping it will go away.. x_x Also, what should Xbox and X900E settings be? XBox has general sound options for Bitstream - Dolby or 5.1 uncompressed. It has a Bluray specific setting to Let receiver decode audio. The X900E has digital audio out settings for PCM, auto -output compressed audio without change and auto 2-output only compressed audio for multi channel content without change. My thought is that the Xbox needs to be set to bitstream-dolby and uncheck let receiver decode audio for blurays then X900E to PCM out. OR Xbox to uncompressed 5.1 and let receiver decode audio then TV to auto output co
Hey folks, I went to BB fully expecting to love the Playbar. However the demo was lackluster to say the least. I walked away unimpressed. This was surprising because I heard it for music at a friends house and it sounded great. I then walked over to the Bose Soundtouch 300 demo and it blew me away at how good it sounded. Light years ahead of the Sonos. I then tried the Sony Z9F, and while not as good as the Bose, it was better than the Sonos. None of these setups were in special rooms or sound controlled aisles or anything. I then went to 2 other BB's and repeated the experiment and the same was true each time. Based on this, I'm leaning towards going with the Bose setup, however I have some hesitation because the reason I wanted Sonos to begin with (aside from the sound quality I was expecting) was for the reliability of the setup. No wireless issues, etc. The Bose has some related complaints, so I'm hesitant. So, what's the deal? Has Sonos just completely droppe
